Chapter 6 “Master Key Part 2”

“About right,” the fatty confirms it with a nod.

“So you calling it a master key is spot on.” Idle grins and understands why the superiors would want this key so badly now.

Ignoring the sort of petty crimes that one could commit with said key, there are also some dangerous things a terrorist body could achieve if they got their hands on it. Like unlocking the code to a nuclear warhead, or the code to a disease control lab. Its uses are endless, and the danger the key poses are also unlimited.

“I’ve said everything I could so keep your mouth shut, okay? Please don’t speak of this outside once we leave. The keys are classified even within the department. If someone finds out you know this, only trouble will come your way.” Fatty Ho warns and kindly instructs the young man to zip that mouth.

“I know.” Idle grins even harder and nods.

After satisfying the curious young man, Fatty Ho returns to the case at hand where he gradually becomes impatient. The reasoning? It’s because he couldn’t find the blasted entrance to that secret corridor.

Ruffling up his own hair in frustration, the fatty violently snuffs out the cigarette and attempts to recall the outline of the map he got. It should be here in front of him, yet it’s not.

“When is this going to end? If I can’t find it then I’m going to call someone. We will need the building layout at this rate.”

“Are you sure there’s a corridor here?” Idle peers over and asks with a wary face.

They’ve been looking around for a while now. If there’s anything in the dean’s room then they should’ve found it by now.

“That’s what the guy said in the interrogation room.” Fatty Ho frowns and grows distressed at the block.

Idle understood then and nodded. Taking the lead, he began to silently examine the walls with his hands knocking each brick. According to logic, the hospital walls are constructed out of pure concrete, meaning he should get a different sound if he hits onto anything different.

Sure enough, after much tapping, he finally got a different feedback in sound at the left corner of the room.

“Tang.” This sound was highly metallic with a slight echo in the air, indicating its hollow behind the corner.

“Is it behind this wall?” Idle signals the fatty forward to check for himself since he’s not an expert in detective work.

“Yes… it’s right here!” Fatty Ho felt relieved after a tap. He’s a detective so he’s not new to hidden walls.

“The thief king said the secret corridor is in the back of the dean’s room. This spot here is opposite facing of the front door so it…. Huh?” Stunned for a split second, the fatty eyes the young man who was stretching his legs with confusion, “What are you doing?”

“Of course to open the door. You can’t expect us to walk through a wall, do you?” Idle smiles like it’s obvious on what he’s planning.

In regards to his own power, Idle had a lot of confidence he could knock down the false wall here using his legs. Why bother using a piece of equipment to slowly chisel a hole when he could just brute force it?

Before Fatty Ho could stop him, Idle had already jumped up and kicked the wall with a thousand pound in his legs. Following an audible crack, the wall blocking their path was instantly shattered in that instant.

“I knew it. It’s indeed here! We’re not mistaken!” The fatty promptly peered over to find the metal door frame. This greatly relieved the guy because it meant the thief king did not lie in his story.

“The corridor you’re talking about is behind this metal frame?” Idle asks.

“Yes, you’ll see it when we get that door open.” That said, the fatty moves his head and leans over the open hole in the wall and carefully examines the inside.

The outer wall is only brick-thick. It’s no wonder Idle can break it with a simple kick. But why did they build a wall twenty centimeters away from the door? Won’t they need to break down it down every time they want to go inside?

That only confused the fatty further. But he didn’t have time to think for he heard a strange sound then.

The noise was very messy and heavy, but more importantly, the source came from behind that door.

To be more exact, it’s some sort of panting sound from his judgment and there’s more than just one person!
