The Ninth Secret Bureau chapter 0 p10

Chapter 0 “Prologue Part 10”

The more Fatty Ho thought about the case, the more painful his head became.

“This key is really a curse…. At first exposure it’s already drawn in this many bad elements….”

Sighing heavily, he got up and pushed open the door to call in the others waiting outside before leaving the station altogether.

Before Gold Happy’s death, Fatty Ho was sure he didn’t see things wrong back there.

Okay, let’s go over Everything again. Four reflections, one being mine, and three unknowns. How did they get inside the room? The only entry is the door to the far left. If they do come inside then they can only move towards the center, and that position would inevitably cause them to be discovered. But what if they’re not people….

Feeling the migraine coming over his head, Fatty Ho knew what he must do. Taking out his cell, he dialed a number in which he didn’t want to.

Soon, it connected.

“Old Week, the case is a bit complicated. It’s likely to be a case involving the paranormal and magic community.”

While saying this, the fatty didn’t forget to use his little radish-sized pinky to pick his nose: “Since these sorts of cases aren’t my strong point, I request you send someone over for support. I’m afraid I won’t be able to handle this alone.”

“Wait a minute, I’ll check…” There was an old man who spoke back using a hoarse-sounding voice. It could be heard from the other side that he’s flipping through papers.

“We have no one in the province, and if we transfer someone then it will take at least two days until they arrive. There’s been a lot of cases recently so most of the agents have been sent out on other jobs.”

“This is urgent and of time essence, can’t you think of a way?” Fatty Ho grew a little anxious.

If this thing doesn’t get smoothed out and goes awry, not only would he get a blemish on his record, the superiors would also come down on his head. That “key” was a genuine national treasure, a treasure among treasures. He would be lucky to keep his post after this mess up.

The old man on the other side of the phone also knew the weight of this mission and thought for a while: “Ningchaun does not have a branch office so we don’t have any agents there right now, but we do have a registered temp worker. Most of our original cases were outsourced to him prior to this, do you want to have him help?”

“Who? Are they reliable?” Fatty Ho presses his voice down and whispers.

“Reliable, I’ve seen his information and the kid’s quite popular. He’s young but capable,” the old man on the other side of the phone says, “the most important part is he is as clean as it comes. What do you think?”

What else am I supposed to say in this situation? If I can keep my mouth shut, perhaps the “key” won’t leak and nothing will go wrong. Fatty Ho thought, nodding to himself as reassurance.

“What’s his name?”

“Chen Idle.”
