Chapter 4 “Strange Creature Part 1”

The door behind him disappeared the moment he stepped through to the dean’s room. It’s as if he had been swallowed by a vast dark whale, which greatly alarmed Fatty Ho who was standing outside the doorway.
“Where he go?!” The fatty rushed forward and pointed his flashlight inside only to realize how freaky this office truly was.
The light, it couldn’t penetrate the darkness. It’s being devoured….
“What’s going on here…” He tightens his brow into a knot. The guy never expected the situation to develop in this manner.
To be fair, Fatty Ho wasn’t the kind of uninformed investigator you expect in these kinds of horror tropes. Before he became a small captain, he had seen countless strange cases in his time. What kind of demons and evils had he not seen before?
But this time, he’s had his eyes opened.
Reaching inside with his hand, the guy discovered the sensation to be very strange upon contact. It didn’t feel like air against his palm, rather a pool of viscous liquid that was icky and slippery. Out of reflex, he jerked backward at the cold sensation.
Are ghosts really capable of doing such things?
Or is this not the result of spiritual beings at all?
“Idle! Can you hear me!” He yelled and grew more agitated by the second, “Idle, are you alright?! Idle!”
Contrary to the fatty’s panicking cry outside, Idle behaved unusually calm after disappearing into the dean’s room. It’s as if he’s accustomed to these situations already and didn’t find it strange.
Taking several steps back to access the room, it didn’t take long for Idle to understand what he’s gotten himself into.
No wonder the hallway outside is so clean without a trace of fire ever occurring. So it’s like this….
“I didn’t expect that the spirits here are this powerful, they’re actually able to create an immense field.” He looks around and marveled at the feat before himself.
In the old legends of past, there was often a saying of ghost walls. That meant the unclean would often befuddle the living and cause them to lose their way despite the apparent pathing lying right in their sight.
As reality and fact have proven over time, this phenomenon does indeed exist. The modern term used to describe this was “Field”
The most elementary field – the ghost wall – would make a person lose their way and unable to get out of, let’s say…. a spooky dark forest. As for the advanced kinds, that would be what Idle’s experiencing right now, could turn illusions into reality.
The truth was, both of them had already stepped into the field the moment they walked into the hospital grounds.
“The coverage area is so wide….” Idle estimates the field stretched back to the first hallway where they encountered that line of ghost banging their heads.
Then he stopped marveling at the darkness after picking up on a sound. Looking forward, he locked onto the “creature” currently scribbling something at a desk up ahead.
