Chapter 91
Chapter 92: Little Temper Version · Qian Qi 3.0
The Awakener stared, confused, and said: “What medicine? One second to stop bleeding? You have to be kidding.”
A few other Awakeners laughed and said: “Are scams this lazy now? One second to stop bleeding? Do you think we are fools?”
Another snapped and said: “Yeah, move it. Don’t block the way.”
A hot tempered Awakener reached out to shove Qian Qi, trying to steal the good spot she had taken, but he couldn’t budge her. Instead, Qian Qi seized his wrist and twisted hard.
She said, calm and sharp: “This is a Hemostatic Potion praised even by S grade Awakeners. The Magiplant Institute would call it the ancestor of potions.” With a light push from her small hand, the man stumbled back several meters as she added: “If you won’t buy, don’t stand in the way.”
Who doesn’t have a bit of a temper?
Buy it or don’t!
Right now she was Little Temper Version, Qian Qi 3.0.
Qian Qi sat steady on her tiny stool. Selling Hemostatic Potion here was their good luck. At school it was hard to get even one pack. If she so much as showed up on the forum, loads of people would pay a high price.
If not for that bet with the Skills Department, she wouldn’t be out here in the first place.
[Qian Qi, think about the house!] The System Panel waved a white glow stick and cheered: [As soon as we clear an E grade Dungeon and flip a few apartments, getting rich overnight is right around the corner!]
Qian Qi swayed twice, completely unmoved.
Forget Dungeons. Every time she thought about the 2,000,000 guide fee she was about to lose, her heart ached. She felt drained and couldn’t sleep at all.
[Think about the eight male models still waiting for you!]
That did it. Energy surged back into Qian Qi.
She slapped both knees and said: “Come on, how can a businesswoman throw a tantrum? Never fight with money.”
She raised her voice and said: “So you don’t believe my potion works? I’ll show you myself, how about that?”
Hearing that Qian Qi would test it on herself, the passing Awakeners perked up and said: “Sure. Let’s see if it really stops bleeding in one second.”
People who weren’t rushing into the Dungeon slowed down to watch the show. They wanted to see what trick she would pull.
Qian Qi picked up a pack of Hemostatic Potion. Heart aching a little, she rolled up her sleeve. Holding a small knife, she measured spots here and there. Her face showed real fear and trouble.
That made the onlookers laugh even more. They jeered and said: “Cut already. Hurry up. Don’t chicken out.”
Someone said: “Didn’t you say you’d prove it? What are you waiting for?”
Another shouted: “Don’t waste our time. Do it fast. Best if you slice your neck. You said it can handle an artery, right?”
The more they mocked, the more pained Qian Qi’s face looked. She gritted her teeth, and when the crowd grew thicker, she suddenly lifted the knife.
“I’m doing it now!”
She shouted so everyone could see. She even raised her arm high, the tip of the blade pointing straight at her left forearm.
At that exact moment, someone walked out of the Dungeon.
He was a broad shouldered guy. As soon as he came out, he bumped into Qian Qi’s shoulder. From his angle, her knife looked like it was stabbing right at him.
The surprise attack made him yelp. He grabbed her knife wrist and stopped her cold.
Someone in the crowd cried out: “Whoa, that’s a D grade Beast Tamer.”
Qian Qi glanced over. The one stopping her was a chubby young man, face pale as he stared at the blade. A bronze badge pinned to his chest marked him as a D grade Beast Tamer.
He looked at her, exhaled, and said: “It’s you? What are you doing? Trying to assassinate me?”
He was valuable, sure, but shouldn’t kidnappers try to take him alive? Why stab him?
Qian Qi tilted her head, studying him with interest, and said: “You know me?”
“You might not know me, but I know you,” the chubby guy said. “I’m Si Kong Wang, a student in the Beast Taming Department. I saw you do Beast Taming before, the time you gave the Flame Hound a massage.”
He had gone back to campus to meet friends and happened to watch Qian Qi work in the Beast Taming plaza. It was so interesting he remembered her. He had also watched several of her videos on the campus forum, including the time she saved people at the Skills Plaza and her showdown with a D grade Magibeast at the Beast Taming plaza.
Qian Qi smacked her palm and said: “Oh, so you’re a schoolmate.”
“I wasn’t trying to stab you,” she said, then nodded toward the Awakeners around them and sighed like an old pro: “They don’t believe my Hemostatic Potion works. I was going to give them a demo.”
“I see.”
Si Kong Wang turned to the Awakeners and said: “She’s a famous student at Awakener University. I can vouch for her as a D grade Beast Tamer. The potion is the real deal.”
“One second to stop bleeding, for real?” His reputation hit different. As soon as he spoke, most of the nearby Awakeners were half convinced. Someone muttered: “There’s really a potion that strong?”
“Maybe we should buy one to try. I heard this Dungeon has a D grade Magibeast. It’s safer to have it.”
“Let’s buy. Feels worth it, and it’s cheaper than Defense Armor.”
For Awakeners, 998 was basically pocket change. They were about to pay when Qian Qi swept her hand and said with a sunny smile: “Price has gone up. It’s 2998 a pack.”
The Awakeners stared: “Huh?”
“Hold on, why are you hiking the price right here?”
“C’mon, bro, that’s not how you do business.”
Qian Qi smiled coolly and said: “Buy it or don’t. On our campus it can go for 5000 a pack.”
Did they think she looked so pained raising the knife because she was scared? With every wince, she was secretly calculating how much to raise the price.
Qian Qi would never perform for free.
The Awakeners turned to look at Si Kong Wang. He nodded, helpless, and said: “She’s right. It’s sold in limited batches. On campus it’s hard to get. The highest price once hit 18,000 a pack.”
“You heard him,” Qian Qi said as she flicked her ear. With a D grade Beast Tamer backing her up, she crossed one leg over the other and showed off like a smug little villain, saying: “Buying or not? If not, make room. I still need time to raise the price again.”
“Buy, buy, buy!” The moment they heard she might raise it again, the Awakeners stopped hesitating and paid for the Hemostatic Potion on her stall.
A few cautious ones used their own skin to test it first. They worried it would be fake in a real bleed, but the clotting effect was shockingly good. They immediately bought a dozen packs each as backup.
Others saw that and rushed in, trying to buy out the whole lot.
Very soon, Qian Qi sold every pack from her stuffed backpack.
“Oh yeah, closing early today,” Qian Qi cheered as she packed up her little stall. She was about to ask around about local housing prices when she noticed Si Kong Wang still standing behind her.
She blinked and said: “Hey, Classmate Si Kong, you’re still here?”
Si Kong Wang nodded and said: “I’ve got a free day.”
Qian Qi checked the time on her Light-Brain. It was almost noon. She smiled and said: “In that case, thanks for speaking up for me just now. Come on, lunch is on me.”
Si Kong Wang happened to have something to ask her, so he nodded quickly and said: “Great.”
Three minutes later, Si Kong Wang was squatting on the curb. He looked at Qian Qi, who was happily biting a steaming hot street sausage.
“Classmate Si Kong, eat up,” Qian Qi urged when he just held his two sausages without moving. “They won’t taste good once they get cold.”
Si Kong Wang fell silent.
He had heard Qian Qi was thrifty, but he hadn’t expected her treat to be two street stall sausages that cost two coins each.
And they were starch sausages.
