Chapter 15
Chapter 15: College Students Are the Easiest to Fool~
As an agriculture student, Qian Qi knew exactly how it felt to have someone destroy your crops.
“So… I fought people all the time because of that?” she asked, suddenly understanding why her memories were full of fists.
Li Shu Yun nodded.
Qian Qi dragged a hand down her face. No wonder Little Liu refused her. Who would trust someone famous for hating magic plants to save their dying one?
“And it wasn’t just that,” Li Shu Yun added, listing more of Qian Qi’s greatest hits. By the end, Qian Qi felt like her soul needed a shower.
But it wasn’t a big deal.
She believed that if she approached with sincerity and logic, someone would eventually open their heart and accept her “help.”
She marched toward the classmates with her head high.
Four hours later, Qian Qi was sprawled across her pot lid, fully miserable.
She’d underestimated how bad the original owner’s reputation was and overestimated her own credibility. Nobody trusted her.
Even after she grew Fire Qilin Lotus for Senior Li Shu Yun, they still didn’t believe she could solve magic plant problems.
Once trust shattered, rebuilding it was hard.
Was she really going to stop here?
No.
She sat up slowly, a shameless grin spreading across her face.
If they wouldn’t trust her willingly… she’d force it.
The next day, Qian Qi shouldered her hoe and caught Little Liu—who’d been sprinting away every time he saw her.
She slapped a contract into his hands. “Classmate, 45 yuan buys you peace for the next six months. It also saves you 4,500 yuan in tuition next year. You really don’t want to think about it?”
Little Liu started to shake his head.
Qian Qi drove her hoe into the dirt with a heavy thunk.
Little Liu’s heart tripped.
She smiled like a villain in a cheap drama. “Think before you answer. This is a guaranteed win. I get money. You get an excellent planting report. Win-win.”
“We’re going to see each other a lot,” she added, straightening his collar and patting his shoulder with fake sincerity and very real menace. “A little more trust, yeah?”
Little Liu signed with tears in his eyes.
System Panel: [Wow. You really are a scumbag.]
Qian Qi ignored it, tucked away the contract, and said brightly, “Don’t worry. Someday you’ll thank me!”
Then Little Liu transferred the 45 yuan, and Qian Qi did something that left him stunned—
She actually started working.
After basic checks, she pointed at his plot and spoke with total confidence. “Go to the Beast-Taming Department next door and get some Blazing Hound droppings. Dry them, mix them into the soil. After one day, cut the leaf stalk down to about here.”
She marked a spot with a red pen. “Then soak the cut section in hydrogen peroxide for two hours.”
She leaned back, satisfied. “If anything else goes wrong, come find me.”
Then her smile returned, sweet and dangerous. “Oh, and if you want help writing your planting report, I can coach you on that too. That’s extra.”
Little Liu listened in a daze. After Qian Qi swaggered off, he stared at his dying plant and thought… Maybe I should try it?
The lab’s hydrogen peroxide was free. Might as well treat a dead horse like a living one.
—
By midday, Qian Qi had successfully—absolutely not forcibly—closed seven “tutoring” deals.
She stared at the 315 yuan in her account and opened Su Xing Le’s contact.
I’m Your Grandpa: Senior Su, you there?
I’m Your Grandpa: If you’re not, I’ll go to your dorm and find you ^v^
Su Xing Le, who’d been about to pretend he was offline, could only reply through gritted teeth.
[su city young master]: I’m here, I’m here. Junior, what is it?
I’m Your Grandpa: I want some magic beast meat. You know what I mean. ^_^
[su city young master]: How much?
I’m Your Grandpa: 20 jin. How much?
Su Xing Le scratched his head. How much?
Was she being polite, or…?
[su city young master]: No need for money. It’s not expensive. Consider it my tribute!
I’m Your Grandpa: Can’t do that. Too many favors and the relationship gets awkward.
Su Xing Le’s guilt hit instantly. He’d misjudged Junior again. Junior was such a good person—how could he think she was the freeloading type?
[su city young master]: Junior, E-rank magic beast meat goes for 70 yuan per jin!
I’m Your Grandpa: …
I’m Your Grandpa: Then maybe we should make it awkward. ^_^
Su Xing Le: “???”
On her side, Qian Qi rubbed her face, miserable. She hadn’t expected magic beast meat to be this expensive.
Looks like she needed a dozen more deals.
She eyed the students in other magic plant classes. She’d only analyzed twenty-two magic plants so far. If she wanted more contracts, she needed students growing the other twenty.
Her lightbrain lit up with a message from Su Xing Le.
[su city young master]: Junior, your department needs a lot of magic beast meat for planting, right?
Qian Qi went silent.
From what she’d seen, Magic Plant Department students never used magic beast meat. Maybe even magic plant researchers didn’t realize that some plants needed to be fed meat—sometimes meat from a specific magic beast—to grow properly.
Even if they did realize it, they’d need endless experiments to find the right methods.
Was she going to share what she knew?
No.
She didn’t have the power to protect herself. If she made herself too valuable, dangers she couldn’t even imagine would come crawling out.
But…
She was willing to share a little. Just enough.
Qian Qi’s smile turned sly.
Because someday, when she opened a factory, she’d need workers.
And if she needed workers, she might as well train experienced ones.
That was why she’d rather charge 45 yuan and spend time teaching these classmates than borrow money from Li Shu Yun or Su Xing Le. She wasn’t just hustling—she was cultivating her future workforce.
Once they were trained, she could “generously” offer them jobs.
Then she’d retire in bliss while her old classmates stayed in the factory, working hard and making her money.
Oh, her cute, easy-to-fool classmates.
Become Boss Qian’s future workers already.
Qian Qi: “College students are the easiest to fool~”
