Chapter 15
Chapter 15: College students are so simple~
As an agriculture student, Qian Qi knew exactly how it felt when someone destroyed the crops in your test field.
“So all those fights I had were because of this?” Qian Qi asked.
Li Shu Yun nodded quietly.
Qian Qi rubbed her face helplessly. No wonder Classmate Liu refused her. Who would trust someone who hated Magiplants to help grow healthy ones?
“Of course that wasn’t all,” Li Shu Yun went on, listing more of Qian Qi’s past troublemaking. With every item, Qian Qi felt more tired.
It seemed the original owner’s jerk image had sunk deep in everyone’s heart and would be hard to pull out.
But that was fine.
She believed that if she spoke with both reason and feeling, some students would still open their hearts and accept her “help.”
Head high and full of fight, Qian Qi marched toward her classmates. She refused to believe she wouldn’t land at least one job today.
Four hours later.
Qian Qi lay face down on a big pot lid, totally emo.
She had underestimated the original owner’s bad reputation and overestimated her own credibility. The classmates didn’t trust her at all.
Even though she had grown Li Shu Yun’s Fire Qilin Lotus, they would not trust her, and they refused to believe she could fix their Magiplant problems.
Once trust is broken, it’s very hard to rebuild.
Was she going to stop here?
Her fingers tapped the pot lid, one beat after another, making crisp little clicks.
No. She absolutely would not stop here.
She didn’t want to use that method, but…
Qian Qi shot up from the pot lid, a shameless, rascal smile slowly spreading across her face.
No one could stop her from making money. Since they wouldn’t trust her, she would use that shameless image to make them trust her by force.
One day later, Qian Qi hefted a hoe and caught Classmate Liu, who tried to run the moment he saw her.
She slapped a contract down in front of him and said: “Classmate, 45 yuan will buy you six months of peace and save you 4500 yuan in second year tuition. Are you sure you don’t want to consider it?”
Classmate Liu started to shake his head, but then he saw Qian Qi drive the hoe into the soil with a thud. The force made his heart skip.
She grinned and said: “Think before you answer. This is a sure deal. I get the money, you get an excellent planting report. That’s a win win, Classmate.”
“We’re going to see each other a lot,” she said, straightening his collar and patting his shoulder, her tone serious with a very obvious threat: “A little more trust, okay?”
Terrified, Classmate Liu signed with tears in his eyes.
[Wow, you really are scum…]
Qian Qi ignored the System’s jab, put away the contract, and said to Classmate Liu: “Don’t worry, Classmate. One day you’ll thank me.”
Classmate Liu only hoped the 45 yuan could buy peace. As for Qian Qi actually healing his Magiplant, he didn’t expect anything.
But after he transferred the money, he found that Qian Qi really studied his Magiplant with care.
After running some basic tests, she said with confidence: “Go to the Beast Taming Department and get some Flame Hound droppings. Dry them, then mix them into the soil. After one day, cut its leaves and stem down to about here, then soak the cut part in hydrogen peroxide for two hours.”
She used a red marker to show the spot on the stem, then added: “If anything else comes up, come find me anytime.”
Thinking of something, she smiled and said: “Oh right, I can also coach you on the planting report. Of course, that costs extra.”
Classmate Liu stood there dumbfounded. After Qian Qi swaggered off with her hoe, he looked at his dying Magiplant and thought: maybe I should try it. The lab’s hydrogen peroxide is free. Treat a dead horse like a living one and see if it works.
…
By midday, with arms friendly over shoulders, Qian Qi had strong armed, ahem, successfully negotiated seven jobs.
Seeing the 315 yuan in her account, Qian Qi opened Su Xing Le’s Light Brain account.
She typed on Light Brain and sent: “[I Am Your Grandpa]: Senior Su, you there?”
She sent another: “[I Am Your Grandpa]: If you’re not, I’ll come to your dorm ^v^.”
Su Xing Le had planned to pretend he was offline, but he had no choice and replied: “[Su City young master]: Here, here, here. Junior, what’s up?”
Qian Qi sent: “[I Am Your Grandpa]: I want to get some Magibeast meat, you know ^_^~”
He asked: “[Su City young master]: How much?”
She answered: “[I Am Your Grandpa]: Twenty jin. How much is it?”
Su Xing Le scratched his head. How much? Was she just being polite, or was she serious?
He sent: “[Su City young master]: No charge. This stuff isn’t pricey. Think of it as my tribute to you!”
She replied: “[I Am Your Grandpa]: That won’t do. If we do that too often, our friendship will sour.”
Guilt hit Su Xing Le. He had misjudged Qian Qi again. What a good junior. How could he have thought she was a freeloader?
He sent: “[Su City young master]: Junior, the market price for E grade Magibeast meat is 70 yuan per jin.”
She typed: “[I Am Your Grandpa]: …”
Then she sent: “[I Am Your Grandpa]: Maybe we should let our friendship sour a little ^_^.”
Su Xing Le: ???
On the other side, Qian Qi rubbed her face with a frown. She hadn’t expected Magibeast meat to be that expensive.
Looked like she needed to close a dozen more deals.
She set her sights on students from the other Magiplant classes. So far she had analyzed twenty two kinds of Magiplants. To sign contracts, she needed to find students growing those same kinds.
Light Brain pinged. A new message from Su Xing Le popped up: “[Su City young master]: Junior, when your department grows Magiplants, do you need a lot of Magibeast meat?”
Qian Qi went quiet.
From what she had seen, Magiplant students never used Magibeast meat. Maybe even Magiplant researchers hadn’t figured out that some Magiplants needed to be fed Magibeast meat, and sometimes meat from a specific beast. And even if they knew, it would take a lot of experiments to find the right way.
Would Qian Qi share what she knew? She didn’t want to. She couldn’t protect herself yet. If she made herself look too valuable, danger would follow.
But she was willing to share a bit with the Magiplant students.
A sly, crafty smile curled on Qian Qi’s lips.
After all, when she opened a factory in the future, she would need workers, and it would be best if they already had experience. The Magiplant students were the perfect choice.
Why would she rather take 45 yuan and spend tons of time teaching them to grow Magiplants instead of borrowing money from Li Shu Yun or Su Xing Le? Because she was training her lovely classmates.
Once she trained them, she could fairly offer them jobs.
Then she could relax and enjoy a sweet retirement, while these old classmates stayed in the factory, working hard to earn money for her.
[Oh, my cute and easy to trick classmates! All of you, become Boss Qian’s future workers, hahaha.]
