They sat down by a window.

She rubbed her hands together, ready to grab food.

Lu Yao chuckled, shook his head, and stood up too.

Su Qian strolled through the fresh section.

She picked several large slices of beautifully marbled wagyu sashimi, then chose a plump king crab, bluefin tuna, sweet botan shrimp, and firm arctic clams.

Then she went to the cooked section.

She took a serving of fragrant French-style baked lobster, a piece of foie gras seared just right,

and a few delicate Chinese pastries.

Only then did she head back, satisfied.

They set everything on the table, filling it to the brim.

Su Qian looked at the feast and beamed. “Now this is what you call enjoying life.”

Taking Lu Yao to a buffet meant there was no such thing as losing money.

Then she looked at what Lu Yao had grabbed.

“Fried chicken wings, durian pizza, grilled sausage, chocolate mousse…”

Su Qian almost blacked out.

It was all cheap stuff.

“A 4888-per-person buffet, and you’re taking these?” Su Qian felt her blood pressure rising.

Lu Yao sat down and raised an eyebrow. “Not allowed?”

Su Qian could not help laughing. “It’s not that you can’t. At least eat some expensive seafood.”

“I just think these foods suit my taste better,” Lu Yao said.

“…Fine.” Su Qian could only give up, completely helpless.

What a waste bringing you out.

You should’ve stayed home and eaten takeout.

Su Qian had no idea that Lu Yao did not care about those so-called expensive seafood at all.

Only then did they see an elderly man collapsed on the ground.

His face was pale, his eyes were shut, and it looked bad.

“How did he faint out of nowhere?”

“No idea. I saw the old man clutch his chest and suddenly fall.”

“Should we go help him up?”

“What’s going on?” Su Qian asked a guy beside her in a black T-shirt.

You could not really blame the passersby for being cold.

There had been far too many cases of people getting extorted after trying to help.

Calling an ambulance

was already more than enough.

Su Qian frowned. The old man’s face had already turned purple.

At that moment, a woman in casual clothes stepped out of the crowd.

She quickly crouched down. First she checked the man’s complexion, then reached out to feel his pulse.

Next, she lifted his eyelids and checked his pupils.

The whole process flowed smoothly, practiced and efficient.

A few minutes later, the man’s finger twitched slightly.

The woman caught it instantly.

Her heart lifted.

Her compressions grew stronger and more rhythmic as she called out, “Sir, wake up. Hold on. The ambulance will be here any second!”

After a little while,

the elderly man slowly opened his eyes, confusion and weakness in his gaze.

He kept thanking her.

Not long after,

paramedics arrived at the scene and carefully lifted him onto a stretcher.

“So Doctor Zhao was here,” one paramedic said in surprise, admiration on his face. “Doctor Zhao, thank you for jumping in with first aid in time. Otherwise, it’s hard to say what would’ve happened.”

Doctor Zhao, the woman who had just treated the man, nodded slightly.

Her expression stayed serious. “Don’t waste time. Get him to the hospital for further checks. He’s awake now, but his condition is still very unstable.”
