Chapter 70
Chapter 70: Thought It Was True Love, Didn’t Expect a Pervert!
Lu Jia Jia was left speechless by Su Qian’s words and couldn’t think of a rebuttal.
She was unwilling, but she had to admit Su Qian was right.
In terms of looks, Su Qian was dazzling and stunning, with an outstanding aura. In terms of family background, she left both Lu Jia Jia and Chen Zi Hao far behind.
Lu Jia Jia’s momentum instantly shrank.
She mumbled, “Then why were you two eating together?”
Su Qian lifted her chin slightly. “Today is your birthday, right?”
Su Qian answered the wrong question.
Lu Jia Jia was thrown off by that sudden question, but she still nodded without thinking.
Su Qian gave a meaningful smile.
Then she said, “For the sake of an old classmate, I’ll give you a gift.”
Lu Jia Jia stared at Su Qian, confused.
Would she really be that kindhearted?
“I’m not close enough with you for that,” Lu Jia Jia snorted.
Su Qian didn’t care how she reacted. She pulled out her phone and seemed to be doing something.
Not long after,
Lu Jia Jia’s phone rang.
It was a file Su Qian had sent her.
“I suggest you look at it when you get home.”
Su Qian smiled, stood up, and gracefully straightened her clothes.
Then she turned and left.
“Playing mysterious tricks!”
Lu Jia Jia watched Su Qian’s back as she left, anger boiling inside her.
She couldn’t hold back her curiosity at all.
She wanted to see exactly what Su Qian had sent.
“This…”
When she opened the file, what she saw made her eyes go wide in shock.
The file recorded Chen Zi Hao’s ugly past in detail.
It included his flirty chat logs with different women, the way he used his position to pressure female employees, and all kinds of ruthless, profit-driven behavior.
And Chen Zi Hao hadn’t latched onto just one rich girl.
His methods were almost exactly the same every time.
There was even evidence that seemed to suggest he had caused a previous girlfriend’s death.
Lu Jia Jia’s face turned pale in an instant.
“This guy… he’s been hiding it from me this deeply.”
A chill crept up her back.
She thought about how, after meeting her once, Chen Zi Hao had thrown himself into chasing her with intense enthusiasm.
She thought it was true love, but it turned out he was a pervert!
The more Lu Jia Jia thought about it, the more terrified she became.
“Jia Jia?”
Just as Lu Jia Jia fell into deep thought,
a familiar voice came from behind her.
She jerked her head up.
She saw Chen Zi Hao walking over from the restroom.
Chen Zi Hao’s heart sank.
[Did Jia Jia find out I had dinner with Su Qian?]
No, wait—where was Su Qian?
Lu Jia Jia swallowed hard and forced down her nerves.
She squeezed out a smile. “Zi Hao, I didn’t expect your surprise for me was coming to this restaurant for a meal.”
At that moment, Lu Jia Jia felt more fear than anything else toward Chen Zi Hao.
She had no intention of tearing the mask off right away.
Hearing that, Chen Zi Hao quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
He smiled. “Yeah, this place is great. I picked it on purpose to celebrate your birthday. Something came up and delayed me for a bit. You didn’t wait too long, did you?”
Lu Jia Jia shook her head, but her eyes kept dodging.
Chen Zi Hao didn’t notice anything off. He reached for Lu Jia Jia’s hand, ready to find a seat.
Lu Jia Jia tugged free slightly.
Chen Zi Hao looked at her, puzzled.
Lu Jia Jia hurriedly said, “Zi Hao, I suddenly don’t feel well.”
Chen Zi Hao frowned, asking with concern, “What’s wrong? Where do you feel bad? Should we go to the hospital?”
Lu Jia Jia waved her hands quickly. “No, no. I probably just walked too fast earlier. I’ll be fine after resting. I want to go back first. It’s too noisy here.”
Chen Zi Hao thought it was a bit strange, but he didn’t overthink it.
He really had eaten a little too much earlier.
If he ate another meal, he wouldn’t be able to take it.
So he agreed to Lu Jia Jia’s suggestion.
They left the restaurant.
All the way back, Lu Jia Jia was absent-minded, her head filling over and over with what she had seen in the file.
…
Chen Zi Hao had been slapped with a misfortune talisman by Su Qian.
On the way back, he kept feeling his eyelids twitching.
Splash-
When he passed a small diner, his foot slipped, and he fell straight into the swill bucket beside it.
A sharp, choking stench rushed at his face.
Chen Zi Hao almost gagged.
“Young man, do you not have eyes when you walk?” an auntie cursed as she stormed out with a mop.
She looked at Chen Zi Hao with disgust while scrubbing hard at the filthy mess he had dragged out.
Chen Zi Hao’s face burned red.
He was so embarrassed he wanted to crawl into a crack in the ground.
He hurried to his feet, trying to wipe himself clean, only to find that stink clung to him no matter what.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to,” Chen Zi Hao kept apologizing to the auntie.
Then he hurriedly fled the scene.
An electric scooter came toward him up ahead. For some reason, Chen Zi Hao tripped over a rock.
He lost his balance and pitched forward, and the scooter happened to be heading right at him.
Chen Zi Hao’s eyes went wide with fear. He tried to dodge, but he couldn’t get out of the way, and the scooter slammed into him.
He grimaced in pain.
“Damn it! Trying to scam me with a fake crash? You’ve got two eggs hanging under your eyebrows—so you can blink but you can’t look?” the rider cursed angrily.
Chen Zi Hao’s heart hammered. Before he could even catch his breath,
a basketball suddenly flew over.
It hit him right in the face.
“Damn!” Chen Zi Hao cried out in pain, his brows knotting up.
“Buddy, toss the ball back over here-” some teenagers in sleeveless jerseys shouted from the court not far away.
Chen Zi Hao was already in a bad mood.
Now getting yelled at like that made him even more irritated.
But he didn’t want trouble, so he forced himself to swallow his anger, picked up the basketball, and threw it hard toward them.
Because he was angry, he used too much force. The ball didn’t land on the court.
Instead, it smashed into a streetlight pole beside it and bounced back,
hitting Chen Zi Hao in the head again.
Chen Zi Hao’s vision went black, and he almost passed out.
He clutched his head in pain.
“HAHAHAHA…”
Seeing that, the teenagers on the court burst into laughter.
Chen Zi Hao’s expression turned ugly.
He glared at them fiercely and hurried away.
But the bad luck still hadn’t let him go.
On the way back, he fell into the neighborhood fountain, got trapped in an elevator, and even got shocked by a leaking charger…
“Damn it! What the hell is wrong with today?” Chen Zi Hao cursed furiously.
No matter how he tried to figure it out, he couldn’t understand why he was so unlucky today.
“But luckily I didn’t embarrass myself in front of Su Qian.”
Thinking that, he quietly let out a breath. “As expected, rich girls from big families are all sweet and clueless. Too easy.”
He was already certain.
Su Qian had been completely taken by his charm.
Before long, she would fall into his arms.
Then luxury cars, villas, beauties, money—everything would be his.
Chen Zi Hao got excited just thinking about it.
Compared to that, this little bad luck was nothing.
