Chapter 64
Chapter 64: Ha, What a Coincidence!
Wang De Fa frowned and thought for a moment.
“Are you sure you can get her? Don’t end up spending the money and still not getting her. Then you’ll have nothing to show for it.”
Chen Zi Hao smiled, unconcerned. “Uncle, you don’t trust my skills?”
“That Miss Shen back then was so proud and arrogant. Didn’t I still take her down in the end?”
“She threw money at me, got me a job. If it weren’t for that car accident, if she’d died earlier, I would’ve already taken everything she had.”
As Chen Zi Hao said that, he even looked proud.
Wang De Fa felt it made sense.
This kid had no real skills.
But when it came to living off rich women, he was the best!
Otherwise, he would not have latched onto Lu Jia Jia so quickly in just one month.
“Fine. It’s just two hundred thousand. I’ll lend it to you,” Wang De Fa agreed.
Chen Zi Hao beamed. “Don’t worry. This Su Family heiress – I’m definitely getting her!”
Greed and excitement flashed in his eyes.
Su Qian brought Lu Yao to the antique market, but she did not rush into the shop.
Instead, she parked the car not far away.
She took out her phone and started doing something.
“What’s wrong?” Lu Yao asked, confused by her actions.
“I bought something good.” Su Qian did not answer directly, only smiling mysteriously.
For some reason, Lu Yao felt that smile was a little malicious.
Soon, Su Qian got a call from the courier. She lifted the corners of her lips. “Yes, the antique market’s east gate.”
Not long after, a courier tricycle pulled up at the east gate.
The courier got down and struggled to carry a huge box toward Su Qian.
“Are you Su Qian, ma’am? This is your package.”
Su Qian smiled and nodded. “Thanks for your hard work. Please put it in the trunk for me.”
When the courier saw the car, his eyes widened. “Y-you’re sure you want it in the trunk?”
That was a Lamborghini!
Wasn’t that a bit wasteful?
Su Qian stayed calm. “Yes. Put it in the trunk.”
The courier carefully placed the box inside, moving with extra caution, afraid of scratching the paint.
Lu Yao looked at the big box curiously. “What is it?”
Su Qian smiled. “You’ll find out in a bit.”
She quickly tore off the shipping label.
“Let’s go.”
Su Qian spoke and walked with Lu Yao toward the antique street.
“Treasure Appraisal Hall.”
They stopped in front of an antique shop.
Su Qian tilted her chin and glanced at the sign, confirming it was the right place before walking in.
As soon as someone entered, Wang De Fa and Chen Zi Hao stopped talking.
Wang De Fa stood up from the rocking chair with a delighted smile. He had just fooled a huge sucker yesterday – another customer so soon?
But when he saw Lu Yao, that delight froze on his face.
Panic replaced it.
Wang De Fa forced an awkward smile. “Oh, young man, it’s you. What, back to look around again?”
Lu Yao did not speak. His expression stayed calm.
“Su Qian, classmate-”
Chen Zi Hao saw Su Qian and felt a surge of excitement.
He stared at her without blinking.
Hearing her name, Su Qian looked over and saw Chen Zi Hao wearing a fawning smile.
She paused, looking surprised.
Ha, what a coincidence!
The world really was small. She could run into him even here.
“You are?” Su Qian asked, pretending not to recognize him.
Chen Zi Hao hurried forward, smiling broadly. “Su Qian, classmate, you don’t remember me? We met at the bar yesterday. I’m Chen Zi Hao.”
“Oh~” Su Qian acted like she realized. “I remember. You’re Jia Jia’s boyfriend.”
Chen Zi Hao’s expression turned awkward.
“Well, Jia Jia and I… actually…” He wanted to explain.
He did not want Su Qian to label him as Lu Jia Jia’s boyfriend. His target now was Su Qian.
“I understand.” Su Qian’s lips curved slightly.
A faint, unreadable smile appeared.
Wang De Fa was shrewd. From Chen Zi Hao’s attitude, he could tell right away.
This girl was the heiress Chen Zi Hao had been talking about.
So he quickly smiled. “So you’re Zi Hao’s friend. Sit, sit.”
They hurried to invite Su Qian and Lu Yao to sit down, smiling flatteringly.
After Su Qian sat, she smiled. “Boss, I heard you don’t just sell antiques and paintings. You also do appraisals?”
Wang De Fa’s eyes brightened. “Yes, miss. We have professional appraisers who can provide appraisal services for customers.”
Su Qian nodded. “That’s pretty nice. I happen to have something I’d like you to appraise.”
Wang De Fa’s eyes lit up. “Oh? What treasure does miss have?”
So the God of Wealth had come to his door.
When he saw Lu Yao earlier, Wang De Fa had been nervous.
He worried the young man had realized he was scammed and came to demand a refund. Now it seemed that was not the case.
Wang De Fa’s nerves eased.
Su Qian slowly took out a delicate little box and placed it gently on the counter.
Then she opened it.
The moment Wang De Fa saw what was inside, the smile on his face froze.
“This-”
Wang De Fa’s eyes went wide.
Inside the box was the “God Stone” he had sold to that young man yesterday.
His heart pounded, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.
Su Qian’s lips curved up. “Boss, does it look familiar?”
“W-well, miss, everything we sell comes with professional testing reports,” Wang De Fa said stiffly, his eyes flickering.
“Boss, why are you so nervous?” Su Qian smiled at him. “I’m not here to cause trouble. I just want to know whether the ‘God Stone’ my friend bought here yesterday is really an antique.”
Wang De Fa forced himself to stay calm. “Miss, sometimes those reports can be wrong. I’ll have someone take a closer look right away.”
He turned toward the shop and called out, “Old Zhang, come take another look at this stone.”
Appraiser Old Zhang walked over, picked up the stone, and examined it with a magnifying glass and small tools for a long time.
Wang De Fa watched, calm and steady.
Chen Zi Hao leaned in too, curious.
Su Qian watched like she was enjoying a show, while Lu Yao stayed completely unmoved.
After a while, Old Zhang looked up and said firmly, “Boss, judging by the patterns, texture, and everything else, this stone is definitely an antique.”
Old Zhang had followed Wang De Fa for decades.
He knew what he should say, and what he should not say.
Wang De Fa smiled smugly. “Miss, see? I told you everything we sell is guaranteed. This stone really is an antique.”
Su Qian was not surprised at all.
So it was the real thing?
Good.
That was exactly what she wanted – for the appraisal to declare it real.
