Chapter 57
Chapter 57: If you can’t afford it, why pretend you’re rich?
Lu Jia Jia’s face went pale. She never expected Su Qian to order wine that expensive.
She felt like her heart was bleeding.
750,000 was no small amount.
She had money, but not like this.
“Su Qian, what do you mean by this? Are you trying to embarrass me on purpose?” Lu Jia Jia shouted, staring at Su Qian with burning eyes.
Su Qian stayed calm and composed. She smiled slightly. “How could that be? Didn’t you generously say to drink whatever we want? I just ordered some good wine for everyone.”
“You—” Lu Jia Jia was so angry she couldn’t speak.
Seeing Su Qian’s calm face only made the anger in her chest burn hotter.
“You’re mad?” Su Qian asked, pretending not to know. “Tsk. If you can’t afford it, why pretend you’re rich.”
Lu Jia Jia’s face turned green, then white.
It wasn’t that she couldn’t produce seventy-something hundred thousand.
It just wasn’t worth it.
The key was that spending it like this felt humiliating.
Su Qian chuckled, not caring about Lu Jia Jia’s expression. “I thought you were so generous. Turns out you’re just like this.”
Su Qian stood up, took the romanee-conti wine on the table, and opened all five bottles.
A rich, mellow aroma instantly filled the private room.
The classmates were stunned, watching Su Qian in shock.
“This Su Qian is insane. The wine is so expensive, and she just opened it like that.”
Lu Jia Jia widened her eyes, her face turning even uglier.
“Su Qian, are you crazy? What are you doing?” Lu Jia Jia shouted.
Su Qian smiled. “Drinking. Isn’t it obvious?”
Lu Jia Jia trembled with anger, but she didn’t know how to argue back.
Looking at the five opened bottles of romanee-conti wine, she felt like her heart was bleeding.
“It’s just a few bottles of wine,” Su Qian said as she calmly poured herself a glass, her movements elegant and unhurried.
“I’m paying,” Su Qian said.
She gently swirled the wineglass.
The ruby-colored liquid swayed inside the glass, and her eyes carried a faint indifference.
Lu Jia Jia stared, full of disbelief.
“You’re paying? Su Qian, stop joking. That’s 750,000! Do you have that much money?” Lu Jia Jia demanded.
Su Qian smiled and said slowly, “Whether I have money or not isn’t important. What matters is that I want everyone to drink good wine.”
“Lu Jia Jia, don’t tell me you even feel sorry for my money,” Su Qian added, her tone teasing.
The moment she said that, the classmates looked stunned.
They stared at each other, eyes full of disbelief.
One classmate whispered, “Su Qian is too badass. She’s paying 750,000 for wine like it’s nothing, and she’s still this calm.”
“Yeah. Looks like Su Qian really has the means. I thought she was just fighting with Lu Jia Jia,” another classmate said, nodding.
Lu Jia Jia stood there, her face turning green and white.
She felt like a joke. She had tried to show off her wealth and status, but Su Qian had crushed her completely.
Chen Zi Hao, who had watched everything, kept glancing at Su Qian.
He was trying to find the right moment to strike up a conversation.
“Jia Jia, you’re all classmates. Why ruin the mood?” Chen Zi Hao said, comforting her.
But his eyes still drifted toward Su Qian.
Noticing Chen Zi Hao’s gaze, Su Qian’s lips lifted.
“And this is?” Su Qian asked, even though she already knew.
Hearing her ask, Chen Zi Hao was delighted.
He hurriedly straightened his clothes and gave what he thought was a handsome smile. “Hi, I’m Chen Zi Hao, Jia Jia’s Boyfriend. Nice to meet you.”
Su Qian narrowed her eyes and looked him up and down.
Then she said lightly, “Oh, so you’re Jia Jia’s Boyfriend. You’re pretty good-looking.”
Chen Zi Hao floated from her compliment.
He was about to say more,
but Lu Jia Jia shot him a fierce glare.
Lu Jia Jia could feel Chen Zi Hao’s unusual attention toward Su Qian.
A strong sense of crisis surged inside her.
“Hmph. Handsome is just one tiny advantage of his. What matters is that he’s good to me,” Lu Jia Jia said, hooking her arm through Chen Zi Hao’s to claim him.
Chen Zi Hao smiled awkwardly.
Inside, he felt a little annoyed.
Su Qian watched their interaction and found it funny.
Lu Jia Jia, Lu Jia Jia.
[Looks like your taste really is terrible.]
“Jia Jia is so lucky, having such a handsome and considerate Boyfriend,” Su Qian said on purpose.
The mood no longer had that early arrogance.
The classmates started chatting in small groups again, catching up and talking about how they’d been.
The five bottles of romanee-conti wine ran out quickly.
Some classmates began, intentionally or not, to curry favor with Su Qian.
A classmate grinned. “Su Qian, you’re really impressive now. You have to take care of us in the future.”
“Yeah, Su Qian, you treated us to wine this expensive without blinking. That’s so generous.”
“I’ve really made it. I actually got to drink wine that costs over 100,000,” a classmate sighed, excited.
Su Qian only smiled faintly, neither confirming nor denying.
She knew these people were just following the wind.
Others nodded along.
Zhang Yu clicked her tongue under her breath toward Su Qian. “Tsk. What are you pretending for? When it’s time to pay, let’s see how you clean this up!”
As Lu Jia Jia’s lackey, Zhang Yu had always disliked Su Qian.
After a few rounds of drinking, someone suggested going to the dance floor to party.
They called a server to settle the bill.
The server came in smiling. “May I ask who’s paying?”
Everyone’s eyes immediately focused on Lu Jia Jia and Su Qian.
Lu Jia Jia turned her head away, avoiding it, her face ugly.
“I’ll pay,” Su Qian said lightly.
She took out a bank card from her bag and handed it to the server.
The server accepted the card respectfully and turned to process the payment.
The classmates all looked surprised.
They hadn’t expected Su Qian to be this generous and actually pay.
Soon, the server returned, handing the card and the bill to Su Qian.
Su Qian glanced at the bill.
After confirming it was correct, she put the card back into her bag.
“All right, let’s go to the dance floor,” Su Qian said with a smile.
As she spoke, she deliberately glanced toward Chen Zi Hao.
She believed Chen Zi Hao would definitely follow.
The classmates all responded and followed Su Qian out of the private room.
Lu Jia Jia stood there, not moving.
Seeing that, Chen Zi Hao hurried to her side and spoke softly. “Jia Jia, don’t be mad. Let’s go have fun too.”
Lu Jia Jia struggled for a moment, but still followed everyone to party.
Chen Zi Hao was secretly pleased.
This was a perfect chance to get close to Su Qian.
They reached the first-floor dance floor. The music was deafening, and the lights flashed.
Young men and women danced wildly. The DJ controlled the rhythm, and the intense beat felt like it could pierce a person’s soul.
Lu Jia Jia stood at the edge of the dance floor, her expression dark.
She watched Chen Zi Hao’s excited face, and her displeasure grew even stronger.
Chen Zi Hao didn’t care about Lu Jia Jia’s feelings at all.
His eyes stayed locked on Su Qian.
