Chapter 5
Chapter 5: A Bunch of Six-Foot-Something grandsons Popped Up Overnight?
“Oh, right, sir. That bald guy took a loss today, so he definitely won’t let it go. Tomorrow, I’ll go with you, okay?”
Su Qian looked worried.
Uncle Jiang waved his hand. “Miss, you can’t. You already helped me a lot today. If that bald guy comes again tomorrow, a little miss like you will definitely suffer.”
“Don’t worry, Uncle Jiang. I have a once-and-for-all solution,” Su Qian said confidently.
Su Qian knew that bald uncle was overbearing and unreasonable.
After losing face in public today, he definitely wouldn’t swallow this quietly.
“Alright.”
Uncle Jiang hesitated, then nodded. “If he dares come again tomorrow, this old man will still lie on the ground. You film it, upload it online. I refuse to believe that under this bright sky, there isn’t a place that’s willing to be reasonable.”
Su Qian smiled without thinking. She already had an idea.
Early the next morning.
Uncle Jiang set up his stall at the usual time.
Sure enough.
Bald Man was waiting there early.
Uncle Jiang sighed, pushed his tricycle to a new spot, and neatly arranged his fruits and vegetables.
“Yo, old geezer. Pretty gutsy. You won’t pay the stall fee, and you still dare to come sell?”
He crossed his arms, full of arrogance.
Then, as if he remembered something, he glanced behind Uncle Jiang.
That nosy stinky girl from yesterday didn’t come?
He felt secretly relieved.
Seriously.
That stinky girl was pretty strong.
The bump she gave him on the head still throbbed faintly.
“Buddy, your head okay?”
“I saw you take a ladle from that girl yesterday. You’re still swollen with a bump.”
A nearby stallholder spoke up.
The bald uncle rubbed the bump and winced, but he quickly pretended it was nothing.
“Tch. How much can a little girl do? Yesterday I was just careless for a moment. Next time she dares come, I’ll make sure she pays for it.”
“Big Brother is still the best,” the vendors around him flattered.
“No wonder you’re the Vegetable Market King!”
“Yesterday I watched you cut ties with me pretty fast, and today you have the nerve to call me brother again?” Bald uncle snorted hard.
“Big Brother, don’t be mad. Yesterday wasn’t that situation sudden? In this market, you’re a famous figure. How could we really dare cut ties with you?”
The surrounding vendors hurried to curry favor.
“Exactly, exactly. Big Brother, you’re the Vegetable Market King. We’re all counting on you.”
“If anything happens later, just say the word. We’ll definitely rush in first.”
“Yeah?” Bald uncle folded his arms, wearing a smug, cold smile. “Since you’re all saying that, prove it. Go flip that old geezer’s stall right now!”
“This…”
A few vendors exchanged looks at once, eyes full of hesitation and fear.
But they didn’t dare offend this Vegetable Market King.
“Old Man Jiang, don’t blame me. It’s because you refused to pay the stall fee.”
“This is all your own fault!”
They muttered under their breath and forced themselves toward Uncle Jiang’s stall.
“You… what are you trying to do?”
Uncle Jiang instinctively shielded his fruits and vegetables.
“What do you think, Old Man Jiang?”
The vendors had already walked up and reached out to flip the stall.
Vroom! Vroom! Vroom!
A noisy, chaotic roar suddenly came from the market entrance.
Everyone turned their heads without thinking.
They saw more than a dozen flashy modified scooters charging into the market like lightning.
In an instant, they blocked the whole market so tightly there was no way through.
A group of young guys, all around six feet tall, jumped down from the scooters. Their hair was dyed yellow, green, and white. They were dressed in all kinds of styles, but every one of them had the same unruly look in their eyes.
They marched toward Uncle Jiang in perfect unison.
When they reached him, they dropped to one knee all at once and shouted together:
“Grandfather!”
What… what was going on?
The vendors were dumbfounded.
The scene stunned everyone there, especially the vendors who were about to act.
Their hands froze in midair. They couldn’t move forward, and they couldn’t pull back.
Bald uncle’s eyes went wide.
The smugness on his face vanished instantly, replaced by shock and confusion.
“Th-this… what’s going on?” Bald uncle blurted out.
Uncle Jiang was also completely lost.
He stared at the unfamiliar young faces and stammered, “Y-you… did you get the wrong person?”
“Grandfather, are you senile?” The leader, a yellow-haired punk, stood up. “I’m your grandson!”
Uncle Jiang opened his mouth, totally blank.
Just then, Su Qian appeared.
She thoughtfully helped Uncle Jiang straighten the fruits and vegetables.
With a small smile, she said, “Uncle Jiang, how can you forget your own grandson? Those are all your grandson’s classmates and friends.”
The vendors’ hearts immediately tightened with unease.
Su Qian had just arrived, so of course she didn’t have that many friends.
These people were all small-time thugs she hired from nearby colleges.
Su Qian only had two requirements.
Good-looking. Good build.
“Good morning, Grandfather!”
The yellow-haired punks greeted Uncle Jiang again in perfect unison, voices loud and full of energy.
“G-good…” Uncle Jiang was still dazed.
He was a little scared, but he still showed a relieved smile without meaning to.
The vendors’ expressions turned ugly. For a moment, they didn’t know what to do and could only look at bald uncle.
“Stinky girl, you brought so many people. Are you trying to start a fight?”
Bald uncle stood not far away, his face dark.
Hearing that, Su Qian gave a snort of laughter. “You think everyone is like you, only knowing how to bully the weak?”
Her gaze swept contemptuously across the surrounding vendors.
“These are all Uncle Jiang’s grandsons. grandsons came to visit grandfather. What, you want to interfere with that too?”
Bald uncle choked on her words and couldn’t speak for a moment.
grandsons?
Do you think I’m stupid?
A bunch of six-foot-something grown grandsons popped up overnight. Do you think he’s the Calabash Brothers’ grandfather?
Bald uncle glared hard at Su Qian. “Hmph. Uncle Jiang’s grandsons? You think I’d believe it?”
“I’m Uncle Jiang’s grandson. School’s about to break, so I came to help set up the stall. Got a problem?”
“I’m his grandson’s roommate. I’m just here to help sell vegetables.”
“I’m his grandson’s classmate.”
“I’m his grandson’s boyfr-”
Before the word “friend” could come out, his companion clapped a hand over his mouth and cut him off on the spot. “Buddy, you really don’t have to.”
Su Qian burst out laughing.
These students might not like studying, but their personalities were pretty decent. They were kind of fun.
“I heard you’ve been demanding stall fees from my grandfather every day?”
The yellow-haired punk who claimed to be Uncle Jiang’s grandson straightened his back, put on a stern face, and walked toward bald uncle.
The other yellow-haired punks crowded in too, pretending to look fierce as they glared at bald uncle.
