Chapter 31: Invest One Hundred Million

Facing the senior executives’ doubts, Su Qian stayed calm. She swept her gaze across the room, taking in their stunned faces.

Then she spoke slowly. “How much funding do you need? I’ll invest.”

That question made several of them freeze.

They had not expected Su Qian to ask that so suddenly.

Finance Director and General Manager Li hesitated, then answered, “Miss Su, if you want results in pharmaceuticals, it won’t be a small amount. About how much can you invest?”

Su Qian nodded slightly. “I can put up this amount first.”

She held up one finger.

“Ten million?” The senior executives’ hearts jolted.

Finance Director and General Manager Li’s eyes flickered.

For Ze Zhong Pharmaceuticals, which was on the brink, that number really could ease the immediate crisis.

Seeing everyone’s surprise, Su Qian smiled lightly. “When I held up one finger just now, I didn’t mean ten million. I meant one hundred million.”

The conference room erupted again.

Their expressions shifted from suspicion and reluctant acceptance to outright shock.

“What, not enough?” Su Qian asked.

She turned and glanced at the stunned Zhou Ran. “You’re not putting in anything?”

“Me?” Zhou Ran pointed at himself, stunned.

“It’s your family’s factory. You’re not investing a bit?” Su Qian narrowed her eyes at him. “What, you want to freeload?”

Zhou Ran was left half-laughing, half-crying.

“Tsk. This young master doesn’t do freeloading.”

Since he planned to work with Su Qian, he had already prepared to show sincerity.

He crossed his arms and raised his brows. “However much you invest, I’ll match it.”

Su Qian nodded, pleased.

“Factory Director Zhao, any other questions?”

By now, everyone was slowly coming back from the shock.

Factory Director Zhao cleared his throat. “Miss Su, funding won’t be a problem for now. But as for the medicine itself, developing something far beyond what’s on the market… I’m afraid it won’t be that easy…”

The others nodded along.

Money could be arranged, but pharmacology research, ingredient analysis, and going from research to a safe and effective medicine –

three months was nowhere near enough.

“Your factory has a professional testing facility, right?” Su Qian cut them off.

Factory Director Zhao nodded. “We do. It’s not large, but for basic drug analysis tests, there’s absolutely no problem.”

“Then that’s enough.”

As she spoke, Su Qian pulled several spirit herbs and spirit plants from a large bag.

They looked different from ordinary plants.

Their leaves shimmered with an odd luster, and faint wisps of spiritual energy seemed to flow along their stems.

Everyone’s eyes were instantly drawn to them.

“Since I dared to make that promise, I naturally have a way.”

Su Qian gently pushed the spirit herbs and spirit plants toward Factory Director Zhao. “Factory Director Zhao, since the factory has a testing facility, have them test these herbs first. Let the data speak. That way everyone can feel assured.”

Factory Director Zhao looked at the plants, then at Su Qian, and nodded.

He immediately arranged for specialist staff to take them for testing.

Su Qian brought five different spirit herbs and spirit plants, each with a different effect. The testing took a while.

A few senior executives suggested holding an internal meeting.

Su Qian had no objections and left the conference room calmly.

After she stepped out, Zhou Ran asked curiously, “Tsk, I couldn’t tell you were this favored in the Su Family. That’s one hundred million in startup funding. They just let you say it like that?”

“I represent myself, not the Su Family.” Su Qian shook her head.

With how stingy the Su Family was, how could they casually hand her one hundred million?

Zhou Ran looked confused. “Then you said you’d invest?”

After hearing that, Zhou Ran started to feel uncertain too.

“You’re not setting me up, are you?” he asked.

He leaned in, whispering, “Be honest. How much money do you actually have on hand?”

Su Qian thought about it and told the truth. “Not much. Just the fifty million from the last porcelain auction – the money I pulled out of your pocket.”

Oh, right.

Plus the “three peanuts and two dates” Su Yi Chen had just transferred.

Altogether it was a little over fifty million. That was all Su Qian had.

“You…”

Zhou Ran stared at her, eyes wide, disbelief all over his face. “That’s it, and you still dared to say you’d invest one hundred million? Are you joking?”

Su Qian rolled her eyes at him. “Why are you panicking? Three days. I’ll gather it clearly for you.”

“Three days, to gather fifty million?” Zhou Ran looked at her like she was a monster.

Did she even know what she was saying?

“Is that hard?” Su Qian looked at him seriously.

Zhou Ran was so shocked he went speechless.

A long while later, he finally found his voice. “You’re not planning to sell your villa, are you?”

Su Qian crossed her arms, unconcerned. “No. If I sell the villa, where do I live?”

“Then auction antiques?” Zhou Ran refused to give up.

Su Qian still shook her head.

“Then how are you doing it?” Zhou Ran asked urgently.

Su Qian smiled lightly, a hint of mystery in her eyes. “Selling little pills.”

Zhou Ran said, “???”

“That smile is kind of creepy.” He subconsciously took a step back.

Seeing his reaction, Su Qian laughed. “Look at you, so timid. Don’t worry, I don’t do anything illegal.”

Only then did Zhou Ran let out a breath.

“But…” Su Qian paused. “This really does need your help.”

Zhou Ran looked at her in confusion. “What can I help with? Don’t tell me you want me to sell pills with you. I don’t have your skills.”

Su Qian rolled her eyes. “What are you thinking? I want you to help me contact some people. You have connections in the business world.”

This time, Xia Meng Meng had sent a lot of supplies.

Su Qian sorted the spirit herbs, spirit plants, and spirit fruits by effect and planned to invest them into medicine.

As for the pills, she would first pave the way for the product launch.

She would auction a few pills of each type, let people taste the benefits, and once the medicine officially launched, she would not need much advertising to have customers.

But she was not going to explain that plan to Zhou Ran.

Two hours later, the lab results came out.

“Let’s go. The main show is just starting.” Su Qian lifted her chin toward the conference room.

A lab technician hurried into the conference room, excitement impossible to hide on his face.

He cleared his throat and announced, “Leaders, the test results for the herbs Miss Su brought are out, and the results are incredible!”

Factory Director Zhao asked eagerly, “Tell us. How incredible?”

The technician opened the report and explained in detail.

“The active ingredients in these herbs are far more complex and abundant than we imagined.”

“Take one of the healing herbs, for example. Its effect is several times stronger than the healing medicines currently on the market.”
