Chapter 29: Thanks for the Peanuts Big Brother Sent
Hearing Xia Meng Meng’s message, Su Qian jolted.
Xia Meng Meng’s master?
Wasn’t that the super archvillain?
Su Qian stared at her phone, completely lost for a moment.
She looked around. The entire storage room held only her.
There was no “master” in sight.
A strange tension rose in her chest.
Su Qian (Modern Metropolis): “?Gulp?No-no. Don’t scare me.”
The Chat Group exploded.
Lin Yue (Ancient Household Intrigue): “This is so exciting! Where is it, where is it?”
Jiang Xiao Yu (Apocalypse Survival): “Wow, this plot is getting more and more fun.”
Xia Meng Meng knew she’d messed up.
Xia Meng Meng (Cultivation Cannon Fodder): “?Not confident?Um… the egg on the left side of your photo… I think that’s my master.”
Su Qian (Modern Metropolis): “Your master is an egg???”
Her tone was full of shock and confusion.
She lowered her head and stared at the black egg glowing faintly to her left.
Xia Meng Meng (Cultivation Cannon Fodder): “No, no. My master is an ancient divine dragon!”
From Xia Meng Meng’s explanation, Su Qian finally understood.
Not long ago, Xia Meng Meng had mentioned her master was badly injured and missing. It turned out he’d transformed into his original form and hidden in a secret place on the back mountain to heal.
The spirit herbs, spirit plants, and spirit fruits around him were all “supplements” for his recovery.
Xia Meng Meng had blundered into it and accidentally sent her master over too-while he was in egg form.
Jiang Xiao Yu (Apocalypse Survival): “Hahaha, this is really unheard of. Su Qian, you’d better be careful with that egg. It might hatch into a big villain and bite you one day.”
Lin Yue (Ancient Household Intrigue): “Xiao Yu, don’t scare Sister Qian Qian.”
Shen Meng Qi (Beast World Darling): “I’m honestly curious. What will hatch out of that egg?”
Su Qian crouched down, staring at the egg, and felt her scalp prickle.
She reached out and touched it lightly again. That cold sensation returned.
She had only sent Xia Meng Meng a bunch of food and fun stuff yesterday. If she wanted to send Xia Meng Meng’s master back to the cultivation realm, she’d have to wait until next week.
Su Qian (Modern Metropolis): “Meng Meng, in his current state, does your master need special care?”
Xia Meng Meng (Cultivation Cannon Fodder): “Sister Qian Qian, I’m not sure either. But if my master turned into an egg, he should be repairing his injuries. With spirit herbs and spirit plants to nourish him, and a bit of sunlight, it should be fine.”
Su Qian nodded, showing she understood.
Xia Meng Meng (Cultivation Cannon Fodder): “As for the fish roe, put it in water and nurture it first. Try to see if it can hatch. Those are koi from the cultivation realm. They’re delicious.”
Su Qian understood.
[Myriad Worlds Chat Group] couldn’t teleport living beings.
But eggs and roe-life that hadn’t hatched into a living creature yet-could be sent.
Still, being able to send them was one thing. Whether they could hatch was another.
Su Qian found a fish tank and put the fish roe inside.
Then she carefully picked up Xia Meng Meng’s “master” and carried it out of the storage room.
She went into the yard, found a sunny and quiet corner, and gently set the egg on the ground.
“An ancient divine dragon,” Su Qian murmured, staring at it.
“Seriously?”
“Isn’t that just bragging?”
Even after Xia Meng Meng’s explanation, she couldn’t help doubting it.
Just then, the sound of a car engine approached.
A black sedan slowly drove into the yard. After it stopped, a young, handsome man stepped out.
It was Zhou Ran.
“Tsk, a luxury standalone villa with a big yard.” Zhou Ran shut the car door and spoke with a teasing tone. “Su Qian, you really know how to enjoy life.”
With his hands in his pockets, he strolled over, confident and unruly.
“Why are you here?” Su Qian looked him up and down. “And why are you dressed so flashy?”
Zhou Ran didn’t get angry. Instead, he smiled.
He tugged at his collar. It was a uniquely designed limited-edition shirt, the pattern shimmering under the sun with low-key luxury.
“How is this flashy? This is fashion. You little girl wouldn’t understand.” Zhou Ran raised a brow, lips curving. “Weren’t we supposed to go to the pharmaceutical factory? Hey-what’s that?”
His gaze landed on the black egg, full of curiosity.
Su Qian’s heart tightened.
She quickly stepped between him and the egg, blocking his view. “Nothing. It’s just… a decoration. Don’t touch it.”
Zhou Ran laughed, stepped around Su Qian, and leaned closer to look at the egg again.
“A decoration? This egg looks weird. It’s even glowing.” He squatted and stared at it, reaching out to touch it.
Su Qian hurried to stop him. “Are you that bored?”
“Alright, alright.” Zhou Ran stood up and patted dust off himself that wasn’t even there. “You’re so nervous. You definitely have a secret. If you don’t want to tell me, I won’t ask.”
He slid his hands into his pockets again. “I already contacted the factory.”
Zhou Ran looked at Su Qian. “Are we going now?”
“Fine. Wait for me a second.” Su Qian carefully picked up the egg, hurried inside, and put it back in the underground storage.
Then she grabbed a few stalks of spirit herbs and spirit plants.
Zhou Ran stared at what she was holding, baffled. “And what are these?”
“Good stuff for medicine,” Su Qian said with a mysterious smile.
Zhou Ran leaned in to study them.
The plants looked strange. Their leaves gleamed with an odd shine, and faint patterns seemed to flow along the stems. A subtle fragrance drifted off them, completely unlike ordinary herbs.
“What are you standing there for? Let’s go.” Su Qian urged him after he stared for a long time.
Zhou Ran glanced at them again, confusion still in his eyes, but he followed Su Qian out.
In the car, Zhou Ran drove and couldn’t help asking, “Su Qian, are those plants really reliable? I feel like I’ve never seen them before.”
“You’re a spoiled rich second-gen who only knows how to chase young ladies and show off sports cars. How would you recognize plants?” Su Qian rolled her eyes.
Zhou Ran rubbed his nose awkwardly.
Fair point. He couldn’t argue.
Su Qian and Zhou Ran sat in the car, heading to the pharmaceutical factory.
Suddenly, her phone chimed. A new text message came in.
Su Qian picked up her phone. It was a bank notification.
The message clearly read: “Dear Ms. Su Qian, your account has received a transfer of 5,000,000 RMB. Sender: Su Yi Chen.”
Su Qian paused after reading it.
What was Su Yi Chen up to?
Why would he suddenly transfer five million for no reason?
Right after that, Su Yi Chen messaged her on WeChat, saying it was her pocket money.
Su Qian let out a cold laugh, full of disdain.
She typed back, “Thanks for the peanuts big brother sent.”
When she needed money, no one in the Su Family reached out to help.
Now, to her, five million was nothing.
At that moment, in the CEO’s office of a luxury office tower, Su Yi Chen saw her reply-“Thanks for the peanuts big brother sent.”
The smile on his face vanished, replaced by shock.
“Peanuts?”
Su Yi Chen thought he’d misread it.
He knew Su Qian had suffered grievances in the Su Family. He’d thought this five million could make up for it a little, and bring them closer.
He hadn’t expected Su Qian to react like this.
