Chapter 24
Chapter 24: No, I’m Not Done Acting Yet
The window slowly lowered, revealing a refined, cold, gorgeous face.
Su Qian’s eyes swept over Yuan Biao with indifference.
“You’re Yuan Biao?”
Her voice was cool and clear, carrying an unquestionable authority.
Yuan Biao’s heart trembled. He nodded quickly. “Yes, I’m Yuan Biao. May I ask what you need from me, Young Lady?”
Su Qian narrowed her eyes slightly, sizing him up. “I heard you’re pretty impressive around here?”
Yuan Biao lowered his head at once. “I wouldn’t dare. In front of you, Young Lady, how could I act impressive?”
In front of someone this rich,
Yuan Biao was nothing more than a small thug.
Su Qian’s lips curved in a cold smile.
“County No. 2 High School, third year, Class Two – Lin Qin. Do you know her?” Su Qian asked.
Yuan Biao’s heart tightened. Did that girl have a powerful background?
No, that couldn’t be right. The Lin Family lived around here, and he knew them inside out.
They didn’t even have a wealthy relative. How could they possibly know someone like this?
“Um… I’ve seen her a few times. Does Lin Qin have ties to you, Young Lady?” Yuan Biao asked cautiously, terrified of saying the wrong thing.
“No ties,” Su Qian said lightly.
Yuan Biao finally relaxed. No ties was good. As long as she wasn’t here to demand justice for Lin Qin, anything could be discussed.
“Master said my company’s feng shui has a problem.”
Su Qian toyed with the imperial green jade bangle in her hand and spoke casually. “Master calculated that I must find a girl whose birth chart matches mine, to be my lucky charm.”
The meaning was obvious.
Yuan Biao stared at the bangle she was playing with, and his pupils shrank hard.
That imperial green jade bracelet looked priceless.
It might even be worth more than all the cars in front of him combined.
Yuan Biao took a deep breath.
Just what kind of background did this powerful, rich Young Lady have?
Now he finally understood what Zhou Ran meant earlier by, “You dare steal the Young Lady’s things.”
It looked like he had unknowingly blocked this Young Lady’s path.
“The Young Lady is talking to you. Why are you spacing out?”
Zhou Ran slapped Yuan Biao on the head, acting arrogant as hell.
“You!” Yuan Biao’s eyes went wide with anger.
He was a thug leader. When had he ever been humiliated like this?
He was about to explode, but a bodyguard stepped forward, grabbed him, and without another word beat him with fists and kicks.
“Hey, hey, hey, we can talk this out!” Yuan Biao covered his head and shouted in panic. “Don’t hit my face! Don’t kick my ass-”
His butt took several hard kicks in a row, fast and ruthless. Yuan Biao was furious and humiliated.
Zhou Ran forced down the gloating smile tugging at his lips and hurriedly squeezed out of the bodyguards.
“Not gonna lie – that kicking felt great,” he said with a grin at Su Qian.
Then he immediately put back on that overbearing, arrogant expression.
“Alright. Stop.”
Su Qian’s cool voice rang out.
The bodyguards stopped at once and stood neatly to the side.
Yuan Biao slowly lowered his hands from his head, staring at Su Qian and the bodyguards in terror.
“Tsk. You just had to be stubborn. That’s what happens when you offend the Young Lady,” Zhou Ran said smugly.
Yuan Biao’s face was bruised and swollen. He struggled to lift his head and wailed, “I never said I wouldn’t give up Lin Qin!”
Yuan Biao cried miserably.
It was just a little girl. Fine, he would give her up.
But they could have asked first!
They didn’t even ask – they came in and started beating him.
“Oh, if you’d said so earlier.” Zhou Ran looked completely unconcerned.
Yuan Biao nearly choked from anger. “How was I supposed to say anything? You started hitting the second you arrived. I didn’t even get a word out before I got beat up!”
Su Qian and Zhou Ran exchanged a glance. That did seem true.
Zhou Ran lifted his chin. “So now you know what to do, right?”
Yuan Biao nodded repeatedly. “I know, I know. I’ll never set my sights on Lin Qin again.”
Zhou Ran trotted over to Su Qian at once and said eagerly, “Young Lady, this guy knows what’s good for him.”
Su Qian gave a slight nod. Her gaze landed on Yuan Biao again, her tone carrying a clear threat.
“That girl is mine. If you dare fight me for my things again, next time you won’t be able to keep hanging around here.”
Yuan Biao nodded over and over, swallowing this loss in silence.
In his heart, he kept praying that this Young Lady would never come looking for trouble again.
After all, in this area he was a thug leader, but in front of real power, he was just a nobody.
“Get in the car.”
That was said to Zhou Ran.
“Got it, Young Lady.” Zhou Ran bared his teeth in a grin.
He hurriedly opened the door, climbed in quickly, and slammed it shut.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ let out a deep roar, like a beast, and shot forward.
The bodyguards moved quickly too, getting into their cars one after another.
The convoy followed behind the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and soon vanished down the street.
Yuan Biao was left standing there alone.
He immediately took out his phone and called Lin Tian Ci.
“Lin Tian Ci, damn it – I don’t want your sister anymore!” Yuan Biao cursed.
On the other end, Lin Tian Ci was totally confused. “Brother Biao, don’t! What’s wrong? Why are you so mad?”
Yuan Biao snapped, “Don’t ask so much. Stop bringing your crap to me! Damn it, if I can’t afford to provoke them, can’t I at least hide?”
With that, he hung up.
“Damn it!”
The more Yuan Biao thought about it, the angrier he got. He glared at his useless underlings. “From now on, erase Lin Tian Ci from our roster!”
The underlings looked at each other and hurriedly agreed.
Lin Tian Ci felt like the sky was falling when he got Yuan Biao’s call.
He had been planning to tie Lin Qin up tonight and deliver her to Yuan Biao. Who would have thought things would turn out like this?
Without Yuan Biao as his backing, who would help him scrape together that three hundred thousand?
If he couldn’t get the money, he would go to jail.
“No, no. I absolutely can’t go to jail.” Lin Tian Ci shook his head in panic.
He took a deep breath. “It has to be that dead girl – she must’ve offended Brother Biao!”
…
“Tsk, where to next?” Zhou Ran leaned back in the passenger seat and asked.
Su Qian narrowed her eyes slightly. After thinking for a moment, she said, “The Lin Family.”
Zhou Ran immediately got interested. “Can we swap roles? Let me get a turn too.”
“No.” Su Qian refused without even thinking.
She turned her head and glanced at Zhou Ran, her lips curving. “Weren’t you acting pretty happily just now?”
Zhou Ran curled his lip. “That’s not the same. Swap with me. Let me play the arrogant rich young master – I can do that naturally.”
He had been a spoiled rich brat for years, and this was the first time he’d ever played a bootlicking underling.
Su Qian still didn’t budge. “No. I’m not done acting yet. Besides, have you ever seen a rich young master with a bootlicking girl at his side?”
Let her play the eager bootlicker?
Hmph. Not a chance.
Su Qian lifted her chin slightly, smiling. “Don’t worry. You’ll have your moment later. I’ll let you do whatever you want and fully unleash your nature.”
Zhou Ran’s eyes lit up at once. “You said it.”
He rubbed his hands together excitedly.
