Chapter 18
Chapter 18: A Luxury Villa – Might as Well Take It
Su Qian froze slightly. Looking at Old Master Su’s hopeful eyes, her feelings turned complicated.
After a brief silence, she spoke slowly, “Grandfather, I have my own life now. Moving back might not be very convenient.”
Disappointment flickered across Old Master Su’s face, but he still nodded in understanding.
“This is the key to a villa in Yun Jin District. Since you don’t want to live with the Su Family, Grandfather can’t let you be wronged. The environment is good, it’s quiet, and it suits you.”
Old Master Su held out a delicate set of keys.
That single gesture shocked Su Yichen and Su Mo Er.
Yun Jin District was the most luxurious villa district in Lin Jiang City. Any random villa there was worth hundreds of millions.
“Grandfather…” Su Mo Er pressed her lips together, her eyes full of resentment.
As the Su Family’s most favored darling, Grandfather had never given her something this valuable.
Old Master Su glanced at Su Mo Er and said sternly, “Mo Er, don’t be willful. Qian Qian has suffered a lot outside. We should care more about her.”
Su Mo Er felt even more wronged.
She stomped in anger, thinking Grandfather was unfair, then turned and ran back to her room.
Su Qian paused for a heartbeat, then calmly accepted the keys and smiled. “Thank you, Grandfather.”
A luxury villa-might as well take it.
If she did not live with the Su Family, she would not have to look at their faces, and she would have her own space too.
Old Master Su smiled with relief when he saw her accept the keys. “Qian Qian, if you need anything in the future, tell Grandfather. Grandfather will definitely help you.”
Su Qian nodded. “I understand, Grandfather.”
Father Su and Mother Su exchanged a few polite words as well.
Su Qian did not care whether they were sincere or not. She played along for a bit, then left the estate.
Su Yichen watched Su Qian’s departing back, a complicated look deep in his eyes.
This sister seemed different from what he had imagined.
After leaving the estate, Su Qian spotted Zhou Ran from far away, arms crossed as he leaned against a black sports car.
“Tsk. I thought once you successfully recognized your family, you’d stay here,” Zhou Ran said, raising a brow when he saw her.
He straightened and walked toward her.
Su Qian glanced at him. “Why are you here?”
Zhou Ran lifted his chin. “Waiting for you. Didn’t you say you had something to talk to me about?”
This was not the place to talk.
Su Qian opened the door and got into the car, and Zhou Ran quickly slid into the driver’s seat.
The car started and drove smoothly away from the estate.
“Keys to Yun Jin Villa?” Zhou Ran spotted the keys immediately. “Old Master Su really dotes on you.”
Su Qian paused, then put the keys into her bag.
“How much say do you have in the Zhou Family?” Su Qian asked, interest rising.
Zhou Ran raised his brows. “What, you want to use my position in the Zhou Family?”
Su Qian glanced at him, her lips lifting slightly. “I want to talk to you about a partnership.”
“Tsk, then you picked the wrong person. For partnerships, you need to talk to my brother.”
Zhou Ran leaned back, spread his hands, and spoke with that lazy, careless tone. “Like you can see, I’m an empty-headed rich second-generation idiot.”
“You’re pretty self-aware,” Su Qian said, amused by his bluntness.
Zhou Ran shrugged, clearly used to it. “The family business is enough for my brother. Me? I just eat, drink, have fun, and pick up girls on the side. As long as I don’t break the law, I’ll never spend all the money in my life. I can just lie flat. It’s great.”
Su Qian was a little surprised.
In a wealthy family like that, shouldn’t the two brothers be fighting over the family business, scheming against each other?
Zhou Ran’s complete lack of interest was rare.
Su Qian’s smile deepened, anticipation flickering in her eyes. “Tell me. If an empty-headed rich second-generation idiot and an unwelcome Su Family young lady build something big together, would it make people’s jaws drop?”
Zhou Ran’s gaze shifted slightly, as if he was seriously thinking.
Through the rearview mirror, Su Qian caught it clearly-he looked tempted.
After a moment of silence, Zhou Ran’s lips curved. “Sounds kind of interesting. Go on, what partnership?”
Even though they got along, they had only met twice. They were not truly familiar with each other.
No matter how useless Zhou Ran seemed, he still had some sense of the bigger picture.
Su Qian chose a quiet café.
She went in with Zhou Ran, and they sat by the window.
Su Qian leaned forward slightly, her eyes bright. “As far as I know, Zhou Group, as the biggest pharmaceutical industry in Lin Jiang City, has already reached a stable and saturated level. Don’t you want to go further and enter the provincial capital?”
Zhou Ran froze, then fell into deep thought.
The provincial capital market really was a huge piece of meat.
The Zhou Family had considered entering it many times in recent years, but the provincial capital was not like Lin Jiang City, where one company dominated.
It was controlled by several major companies.
The pharmaceutical industry was not as simple as people imagined. Without a product with standout results, it would be hard to take a share from them.
“You already have a way?” Zhou Ran looked at Su Qian, curiosity and expectation in his eyes.
If Su Qian brought up a partnership, she must have an idea.
Su Qian smiled, confidence shining in her gaze.
She took a small porcelain bottle from her bag. A label was stuck on it.
Zhou Ran narrowed his eyes, curious. “Tsk. What is that?”
Su Qian gently shook the bottle. “This is good stuff.”
The label read: wound-healing pill.
This was medicine Xia Meng Meng had transferred from the cultivation realm.
Zhou Ran raised a brow, doubt showing on his face. “wound-healing pill? That sounds kind of mystical. Don’t tell me you sell little pills.”
Su Qian chuckled, teasing in her eyes. “What? The dignified Zhou Family Young Master is scared of little pills?”
Su Qian knew that no matter how much she explained, it would just sound like nonsense.
If she wanted Zhou Ran to truly believe her, she had to put something on the table.
She pushed the porcelain bottle forward.
“This pill can be our meeting gift for the partnership,” Su Qian said slowly. “All my sincerity is inside. I can’t guarantee the pills we produce after we partner up will work as fast as this, but they’ll definitely be better than any similar drug on the market!”
Zhou Ran crossed his arms and leaned back, staring at the bottle, then looking back at Su Qian’s calm, confident face.
He did not understand how she could say something like that with such certainty.
While Zhou Ran was thinking, Su Qian had already asked the waiter for paper and pen.
“You can take your time. This is my contact. If you decide, you can reach me anytime.”
Su Qian wrote down her phone number and placed it on the table.
“Oh, and I already paid for the coffee,” she added.
Then she picked up her bag and left calmly.
Zhou Ran picked up the note and looked at the neat handwriting.
His curiosity about Su Qian deepened even more.
