Chapter 13
Chapter 13: Let Me Mooch a Meal. You Don’t Mind, Right?
Zhou Ran’s spoiled-rich-kid reputation wasn’t a secret in the circle.
He spent his days loafing around and never did anything serious, so everyone was used to it.
Su Qian looked at Zhou Ran in surprise.
She hadn’t expected him to bid so decisively.
Others kept raising the price, and Su Mo Er refused to back down.
She lifted her paddle and shouted, “Fifteen million!”
She shot Su Qian a provocative glance.
Su Qian didn’t care at all, and inside, she was thrilled.
Go ahead, bid, bid. The higher it went, the better. In the end, it was all going into her pocket.
More and more people followed with higher bids.
In just ten minutes, it had climbed to thirty million.
Su Qian couldn’t hold her smile back – it was harder to keep down than an AK.
It was obvious Su Mo Er was starting to struggle.
Even the hand holding her paddle began to tremble.
She bit her lip, her eyes full of unwillingness and hesitation.
Zhou Ran kept bidding with ease, as if a few tens of millions meant nothing.
He stayed relaxed, lifted his paddle again, and called out, “Tsk, this young master bids fifty million!”
That bid made the whole room fall silent.
Everyone was stunned by Zhou Ran’s extravagance and turned to look at him.
Antiques more expensive than this did exist.
But for a piece of porcelain with an unknown dynasty to reach this price, there was clearly an element of gambling in it.
“You like this porcelain that much?” Su Qian asked in surprise.
“I don’t like it.” Zhou Ran shrugged and laughed. “Tsk, my grandfather just likes fiddling with these things. I’m buying it to use as a vase for him.”
“…Your grandfather is pretty fashionable.” Su Qian’s mouth twitched slightly.
Using a porcelain antique worth tens of millions to arrange flowers – she didn’t understand the rich.
Su Mo Er’s face had turned pale.
This price was beyond what she expected, and it didn’t feel worth it anymore.
After weighing it, everyone else also gave up bidding.
In the end, the porcelain sold for fifty million.
The looks people gave Zhou Ran were full of awe, envy, and confusion.
After all the procedures were finished, the staff packaged the porcelain carefully and handed it to Zhou Ran.
Zhou Ran held it with an easy expression.
It was as if he weren’t holding a precious porcelain worth fifty million, but just an ordinary item.
“What do you think this thing was used for before?” Zhou Ran weighed the porcelain in his hand. “It feels pretty good.”
“For arranging flowers,” Su Qian answered without thinking.
“?” Zhou Ran looked at her, puzzled. “How do you know?”
Su Qian lifted her lips slightly, a hint of laughter in her eyes. “Because it’s mine.”
Zhou Ran froze, then burst out laughing. “You’re really good at joking. But who knows? Maybe it was displayed in some palace, or maybe it really was used for arranging flowers.”
Zhou Ran only took Su Qian’s words as a joke.
Su Mo Er, listening from the side, sneered. “That porcelain is yours? Why don’t you say this whole auction is yours too? Su Qian, you really know how to brag.”
Su Qian was speechless.
Why did Su Mo Er have to force her presence everywhere?
“If there’s something about me you can’t stand, then please deal with it yourself.” Su Qian sighed at Su Mo Er. “Don’t hop around like a clown in front of me just to disgust me.”
“You-” Su Mo Er trembled with anger.
At that moment, the auction boss walked over with a bank card printed with the auction logo in his hand.
He had a smile plastered on his face.
“Miss Su.” The auction boss handed the card to Su Qian. “This is your payment from today’s sale. After taxes, everything has been deposited into this card. Please keep it safe.”
Su Qian nodded slightly and took the card. “Thank you.”
Su Mo Er’s eyes went wide, her face full of disbelief.
“H-how is that possible?” Su Mo Er’s voice shook.
That was a porcelain worth tens of millions.
How could Su Qian, a country bumpkin, possibly own it?
Zhou Ran also looked surprised.
He stared at Su Qian, curiosity flashing in his eyes.
He had thought Su Qian was joking, but he hadn’t expected she really was the owner of the porcelain.
No one bothered with Su Mo Er at all.
The auction boss continued politely, “Miss Su, if you have similar lots in the future, please consider our auction house first.”
This boss really knew how to act.
Su Qian nodded and responded politely.
There really were plenty of things she needed to trade later.
Su Mo Er stood there, feeling completely ignored.
She bit her lip, unwillingness showing in her eyes, and in the end, she turned and left.
“Tsk, the show’s over. I’m so hungry I’m getting dizzy.” Zhou Ran looked at Su Qian, his eyes asking. “How about we eat together?”
Su Qian thought for a moment and smiled. “No problem.”
Looking at Zhou Ran’s eyes, Su Qian didn’t see any bad intentions.
Instead, she saw sincerity, and she didn’t dislike him.
The two walked out of the auction venue together.
Zhou Ran’s driver was already waiting at the entrance.
At a glance, he spotted Su Qian’s car parked outside.
“Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. Not bad taste.” Zhou Ran praised her.
Su Qian smiled slightly. “It’s just a car. It’s not really about taste.”
“Take this back to Old Master.” Zhou Ran casually tossed the porcelain to the driver.
The driver jolted in fright.
He scrambled to catch the porcelain, terrified there might be an accident.
He carefully placed it on a soft cushion prepared inside the car, making sure it was steady and safe.
Seeing the driver’s tense expression, Zhou Ran laughed. “Don’t be so nervous. It’s just a decoration.”
The driver wiped the sweat off his forehead. “Young Master, this is a porcelain worth fifty million. I can’t be careless for even a second.”
After securing the porcelain, the driver opened the car door.
Seeing Zhou Ran didn’t get in, he asked in confusion, “Young Master, aren’t you getting in?”
Zhou Ran waved his hand. “Tsk, of course I’m mooching a ride.”
The driver froze, then gave Su Qian a meaningful look.
He nodded. “Yes, Young Master.”
Then the driver drove off.
Su Qian looked at Zhou Ran, surprised. “You’re mooching my car? You sure?”
“Of course.” Zhou Ran grinned. “And I’ll mooch a meal too. You don’t mind, right?”
Su Qian lifted the corner of her mouth. “Fine.”
After all, she had just pulled tens of millions out of his pocket. Treating him to a meal wasn’t too much.
Zhou Ran didn’t hold back. He opened the passenger door and sat down.
Su Qian started the car and drove out slowly.
“Tsk, if the Su Family were all like you, that would be great.” Zhou Ran leaned back in the seat.
She had to admit, a new car really was comfortable.
Su Qian glanced at him, a little surprised. “How are you so sure I’m from the Su Family?”
Zhou Ran crossed his legs and raised his brows. “I heard before that the Su Family has an eldest daughter who was lost outside and got found again not long ago. At the auction, that Su Mo Er’s attitude toward you, plus your surname – it’s not hard to guess.”
Su Qian couldn’t help looking at him with new eyes.
Zhou Ran wasn’t as brainless as he seemed on the surface.
“The Su Family is the Su Family. I’m me.” Su Qian withdrew her gaze, her tone calm.
Zhou Ran nodded slightly.
In rich-family grudges and feuds, right and wrong were messy. Who didn’t have their own hard story?
