Chapter 56: Shock! She Gets Physical with Him

In the eyes of the crowd, Tian Hao Tian’s charge was lightning fast. In Shen Sang Ruo’s eyes, it was slow like a three year old playing around. Their levels were too far apart.

Nothing about it stirred her heart, and it did not interest her at all.

When Tian Hao Tian was almost in front of her, she lifted her hand like it was nothing and gave a light wave.

The inn fell silent enough to hear a pin drop.

The people of Jade Tower City had never seen their Young City Lord take a fall like this. They felt a fierce rush of joy. At last someone had come to punish this bully.

But their joy quickly turned into worry. Shen Sang Ruo could crush Tian Hao Tian alone, but behind him stood the entire City Lord’s Manor. How could she fight a whole manor?

Tian Hao Tian glared, eyes blood red, and stared at Shen Sang Ruo like he wanted to tear her apart: “You. It was you!”

Shen Sang Ruo hooked her lips and answered in a calm voice, as if his anger meant nothing to her: “Yes, it was me.”

In Jade Tower City, Tian Hao Tian was always arrogant. Everyone bowed and scraped before him. He had never been treated with open contempt like this.

Shamed like this, how could he swallow the insult? A sly look flashed in his eyes. He seemed to be searching for a chance to sneak attack, or to use a hidden weapon.

He did not know every tiny expression and movement had already entered Shen Sang Ruo’s eyes.

She lifted her gaze. She did not move at all. In the next breath, the Spiritual Pressure of an Early Golden Core cultivator poured out.

“Watch your mouth,” Shen Sang Ruo said coldly as her gaze swept over him, then she raised her foot and stomped hard on his head.

Tian Hao Tian’s voice shot up: “Wretch! You dare step on my head!”

Such shame. It was a shame beyond words.

She pressed down harder with her foot. His curses turned into howls.

“If you cannot understand human words, then I will teach you to listen,” she said.

She glanced toward the inn door.

Far off, a group of people was rushing toward the inn. They wore the same uniform. They were cultivators from the City Lord’s Manor. Tian Hao Tian’s followers had run back to the manor to report as soon as trouble started.

[These were the ones she had been waiting for.]

Tian Hao Tian saw them too. He tried to sneer, but the pull at the cuts on his mouth made him suck in a sharp breath of pain. He mumbled through his swollen face: “See that? My men are here. Even if you kneel and beg now, it’s too late.”

Then he shouted to the people outside: “Grab her! Take her back to the City Lord’s Manor!”

Shen Sang Ruo spoke in a flat voice: “No need to rush. Do not make them catch me. I will go to the City Lord’s Manor.”

She finished speaking and, like picking up a chick, lifted Tian Hao Tian from the floor.

“What are you doing? Let go of this Young Master!” Tian Hao Tian’s face burned bright red from the shame of being carried like that. He struggled wildly: “Are you all dead? Hurry up and save this Young Master!”

They hopped and rolled for a long while before they managed to put out the flames.

When the fire was out, they stared at Shen Sang Ruo with fear.

In their hearts, they understood. She was not like those girls they could scare with a show of force. With power like this, she could roast them all like chickens.

Shen Sang Ruo fixed her eyes on one man and spoke with a smile: “Weren’t we going to the City Lord’s Manor? Lead the way.”

The man gulped, looked at Tian Hao Tian, then at Shen Sang Ruo, torn in fear.

She snapped her fingers. A Little Flame leaped on her fingertips as she repeated: “Lead the way.”
