Chapter 250: Teleportation Meets a Flood Dragon
The sight before her made Shen Sang Ruo think of the first time she accidentally wandered into the Ninghua Sect.
But now she had grown far beyond who she was back then.
A flame bloomed in her palm and pushed back the dark. She used wind to steady herself and landed lightly.
Once on the ground, she found herself in a wide, empty cavern.
It felt like the lair of some giant demonic beast.
She squinted and muttered: “This random teleportation is a bit too random.” Then she sighed with a wry smile: “My luck is just too ‘good’.”
She tapped her own head, and the Dodder Flower Sprite in her hair poked out a tiny point.
After its recent rest, its “hair” had grown back. It was no longer a bald little demon.
She patted her hair and ordered: “Use your vines to find the exit, and check whether there is anything else in the cave.”
If other demonic beasts were here, it was not a big problem. Peace was best. If they did not let her leave, she would cut them down.
The Dodder Flower Sprite chirped in answer, and its vines began to extend.
After soaking in Spirit Spring Water, it was not only no longer bald but also much stronger.
A moment later, the Dodder Flower Sprite reported: “Nothing else is in the cave. I found the exit. This way.”
She instinctively reached for her annotated map, touched empty air, and remembered her map had already vanished.
She clicked her tongue and sighed: “How did a good map die so young.” She shook her head; she would just make another later.
A ray of light flashed from between her brows, and in the next instant Zhu Miao popped out and hung on her like a black and white dumpling.
She asked, surprised: “Why did you suddenly come out?”
Back when the Kui Ox first formed a Bonding Contract with her, the ox and the bear fought every day in her sea of consciousness, which made her head ache.
After she scolded them harshly, the little one and the big one finally quieted down a bit, though they still disliked each other.
Through the Spirit Pact, Zhu Miao complained: “It is too crowded and too noisy in there. I do not want to stay.”
She could feel how angry the little guy was. One stinky cow mooing all day was already annoying, and now there was a new arrival too. One after another. No peace at all.
Shen Sang Ruo stared at the black and white ball that was pointedly showing her its backside, puzzled at why it was mad at her.
Forget it. Leaving this cavern mattered more.
She rubbed Zhu Miao’s fluffy belly and followed the Dodder Flower Sprite’s guidance. Before long, light glimmered ahead.
She smiled and said: “Finally, we are getting out.”
Just as she pushed off her toes to leap out of the cave mouth, two orange yellow “lanterns” appeared at the opening.
She reacted at once. Those were not lanterns but the eyes of a giant demonic beast.
Amber eyes the size of shields fixed on her, bright with the excitement of seeing prey.
Its snort blasted out like a gale, almost blowing the Dodder Flower Sprite out of her hair.
So the cave had not been empty. The owner had just gone out, and now it happened to crash into her right as she was leaving.
The beast looked like a snake but had legs, like a dragon yet without horns.
Shen Sang Ruo’s eyes narrowed as she thought: [A Flood Dragon.]
Legends said that after a thousand years of cultivation, it could become a True Dragon.
And from that terrifying pressure, its strength was at least Nascent Soul Late Stage.
The Flood Dragon opened its mouth and spoke in human tongue: “Ha, a Human Race.”
It curled its lip and mocked: “A mere Nascent Soul Early Stage cultivator dares to trespass in my domain. You truly do not know death.”
Then it licked its lips greedily and said: “I will use your flesh and blood to help me turn into a dragon.” It chuckled darkly and added: “I have not tasted a cultivator in a long time. That tiny one on you can serve as a snack. Hahaha…”
Its laughter was wildly arrogant.
Shen Sang Ruo stared right back at the Flood Dragon with not a trace of fear or panic.
Her eyes measured it; the corner of her mouth lifted a hair.
She tilted her head and said with an easy smile: “What a coincidence. I was just worrying about finding material to match the Heart-Guard Feather. Brother Flood Dragon, you have done me a great favor.”
[Who is the prey and who is the hunter is not set in stone.]
The Flood Dragon snorted like it had heard a joke: “Just you? Since when did the Human Race become so full of itself? In a moment I will roast you into jerky, and then you will learn some sense.”
A Nascent Soul Early Stage cultivator dared to boast before it?
But in Shen Sang Ruo’s ears, one word stood out: roast. That meant a fire attribute demonic beast. Perfect for her.
[Isn’t this heaven rewarding me?] At first she had thought she was unlucky. Now it felt like even the heavens were helping her.
Fighting spirit blazed in both sets of eyes. The clash was about to begin.
Shen Sang Ruo did not rush. She snapped her fingers.
The Flood Dragon saw a great ox appear beside her. Arcs of lightning sizzled between its horns, and its forehooves pawed the ground.
At the same time, countless vines surged from her hair and shot straight at it.
Even the little dumpling on her chest turned into a streak of light, so fast that a Nascent Soul Late Stage Flood Dragon could not see it clearly.
It was like a stage trick gone wild.
The Flood Dragon gaped. Where did she get this many demonic beasts?
Worse, each one had Nascent Soul level power.
In an instant, the situation flipped. It found itself surrounded by Shen Sang Ruo and her beasts.
Shen Sang Ruo gripped the Luan Feather Fan and said to the three: “Do not let it run.”
She rose into the air as well. The cave mouth halfway up the mountain shattered into a huge hole, and one human plus three beasts charged the Flood Dragon.
The Flood Dragon steadied itself quickly. Numbers aside, they were only Nascent Soul Early to Mid Stage. A loose mob at best.
It could not read Zhu Miao’s strength and dismissed the little creature that was not even as big as its nostril.
But it itself was a true Nascent Soul Late Stage Flood Dragon, a being that might one day turn into a dragon. One lash of its tail was enough to swat them flat.
Its gaze locked on Shen Sang Ruo. She was the weakest. Kill her, and the rest would be solved.
Its intent was clear. It left one tail to occupy the three beasts and focused its main power on killing Shen Sang Ruo in a single strike.
Reality proved it wrong at once.
The Dodder Flower Sprite’s vines bound its tail layer by layer, wrapping it in a snug green “skin” until it could not move.
The Kui Ox bellowed to the sky, tilted its head, and drove its horns forward.
The Flood Dragon sneered. Such an attack was just a tickle.
It never expected the Kui Ox’s horn to punch through its scales with ease.
Joking aside, it was a Flood Dragon, but the other side was a Kui Ox, an Ancient Divine Beast with a Full Bloodline Awakening.
A surge of violent lightning poured from the Kui Ox’s horns into the Flood Dragon’s flesh under its scales. The Flood Dragon convulsed, and its scales lifted like exploding tiles.
Thanks to the Dodder Flower Sprite’s binding, it could not shake the ox off.
“Weren’t they only Mid Nascent Soul Stage?” The Flood Dragon finally realized that something was very wrong.
