Ji Zi Cang and the disciples with him went pale. In such a huge Secret Realm, they still ran straight into the Beast Taming Sect, the very people who held a grudge against them.

Dong Fang Xu let out a cold laugh as he stepped forward: “Since we’ve met, we’ll be sure to welcome you properly.”

He had been looking for a chance to settle scores; now that the prey had walked to the door, he would not let it slip.

Before Dong Fang Xu could say more, Xu Han cut in with a sharp order: “Do it! They’re carrying almost 2,000 points!”

With a wave from Xu Han, the Beast Taming Sect disciples summoned their Contracted Beasts and charged at Ji Zi Cang’s side.

Dong Fang Xu’s expression darkened for a moment.

The gap in strength between the two sides was too large. Even though Ji Zi Cang’s people went all out, they could not hold, and their tokens shattered one after another.

The Kui Ox’s bloodline was strong, but its cultivation was too low. It could not perform full Bloodline Suppression the way Zhu Miao could. Worse, the other side had fifteen beasts.

He sneered as he flicked his gaze back to Ji Zi Cang: “I should thank you for leading me here. Without you, who knows when I’d have found them.”

He hissed between his teeth: “Perfect. I’ll eliminate them together with you and wash this hatred from my heart.”

He had suffered all kinds of humiliation lately. Even someone like Xu Han had dared to step on his head. Only by trampling Shen Sang Ruo and the Ninghua Sect underfoot could he gain back his lost face and keep his title of Young Sect Master.

Shen Sang Ruo exchanged calm looks with her Senior Brothers and Senior Sister. Even faced with fifteen people plus fifteen Contracted Beasts, they did not flinch. The Beast Taming Sect had already leapt to block their path; there was no reason not to fight.

By now, Ji Zi Cang and the Kui Ox had stopped beside the five, and the two sides stood in a standoff.

Dong Fang Xu jabbed a finger as he jeered: “Where’s your Contracted Beast? I want to see how strong its bloodline is. Can it suppress fifteen Contracted Beasts?”

The little dumpling seemed out of sorts with this Secret Realm. Ever since she entered, she had barely felt his presence, so she did not plan to call Zhu Miao out.

Dong Fang Xu bared his teeth and snarled: “What a big mouth. Only five of you and you dare act so wild? You’ll pay for that arrogance soon.”

Ji Zi Cang felt he had dragged real trouble to Shen Sang Ruo’s group.

She spoke in a steady voice without taking her eyes off the enemy: “It’s fine. Running into them was only a matter of time.”

The petty people in the Beast Taming Sect had held a grudge since the individual trial. They would have come looking for trouble sooner or later anyway.

Ji Zi Cang felt a little better, yet he started to worry for them.

The five drew their artifacts and gathered their Spiritual Power, ready to fight.

A breezy voice drifted over and snapped the tension: “Why do I hear a fight brewing over here?”

Zhu Hua Qiao and Chen Zhou Xing walked out together, and disciples from their two sects followed behind them in a strangely friendly mood.

Zhu Hua Qiao smiled with a squint and greeted Shen Sang Ruo first: “Sang Ruo,” then cocked her head toward Dong Fang Xu with a grin and said: “That man.” The jab made quite a few people laugh.

Chen Zhou Xing brightened and said in an almost cheerful tone: “So you’re not against many against few? That makes this simple.”

He pointed around, counting one by one and even including Ji Zi Cang: “Fifteen plus fifteen plus five plus one. We have thirty six people. Are you sure you want to clash with us?”

It was a clear statement that they were standing with Shen Sang Ruo.

Even Shen Sang Ruo was a bit surprised. They had only met briefly before the individual trial began; they were not close.

Dong Fang Xu had expected to wipe out the Ninghua Sect team and get his revenge, but these two sects had popped out of nowhere to ruin his plan. His face turned so ugly it looked like he had bitten something foul.

With the Artifact Forging Sect and the Alchemy Sect added to the five of the Ninghua Sect, they had enough strength to turn the tables and eliminate his team instead.

Even though rage made his teeth itch, he could only back off after weighing the odds.

He forced the words out between his teeth as he turned away: “Consider yourselves lucky. We’re leaving.”

The instant he turned, something snapped through the air.

“Ow!” He clapped a hand to the back of his head as a pebble dropped at his feet.

He spun and met Shen Sang Ruo’s bright, smiling eyes.

She said in a tone that fooled no one: “Sorry, my hand slipped.”

It was obviously on purpose.

Fire roared in Dong Fang Xu’s chest. He took several deep breaths to press it down, then turned again and led the Beast Taming Sect away in a fury: [Just you wait. Shen Sang Ruo watched his retreating back, her eyes deep and unreadable.
