Chapter 9: Surrounded on All Sides

Jiang Zi Chen glared, thinking, So she tells me to go home and I go home? Even if my mom came, she couldn’t make that work!

Besides, walking together was so embarrassing.

But Jiang Shi Yue clenched her hand. Her voice dropped low, and her eyes were full of laughter. “Jiang Zi Chen, are you sure?”

Jiang Zi Chen’s body shuddered. Cold sweat poured down in an instant. A wise man knew when to bow – his life mattered. But he still had to keep his last bit of stubborn pride, like he was agreeing only reluctantly. “Fine. I’m tired of playing around. I’m going home.”

Jiang Shi Yue naturally sat on the back seat of Jiang Zi Chen’s motorcycle. “Touched? Your sister is going home with you.”

Jiang Shi Yue looked thoughtful. Looks like the me in this world had some money.

Jiang Zi Chen walked into the villa with Jiang Shi Yue, reluctant. He entered first.

When he saw Jiang Shi Yue behind Jiang Zi Chen, his gaze instantly turned into open disgust. “Why did you come back with Zi Chen? Where did you go today?”

To tell the truth, this middle-aged man really did have the exact same face as her father, Jiang Meng Qing. Jiang Shi Yue wasn’t a dead person – how could she not feel his coldness and disgust toward her?

Before Jiang Shi Yue could speak, two more people came down the stairs. It was her stepmother, Chen Xue Ru, and her half-sister, Jiang Mei Ling.

Jiang Shi Yue lifted her head and looked at Chen Xue Ru first. She really was beautiful, and she was well cared for. Her brows and eyes were gently soft, carrying the elegance of someone pampered in high society.

When she spoke, the smile at the corner of her lips was like spring wind, soft as it brushed into your heart little by little.

In her memories, even though she was a stepmother, Jiang Shi Yue didn’t dislike her. Instead, she respected her. Her own mother had died early, and she had basically grown up by Chen Xue Ru’s side.

Chen Xue Ru walked to Jiang Meng Qing and spoke gently. “Meng Qing, don’t scold the child. Shi Yue’s health just got a little better, so she should go out and have fun more.”

Jiang Mei Ling, who had come down with her, also chimed in softly. “Yeah, Sister. I heard a few days ago that you went out to have fun with a bunch of boys. That’s great! It’s safer when there are boys to protect you.”
