Chapter 75: Reap What You Sow

“Miss Zhou, where are you?”

It was actually Jiang Shi Yue’s voice.

It seemed Zhou Ling had been gone too long, so she came over to look for her.

Zhou Ling was surprised Jiang Shi Yue was looking for her, but a smug look flashed between her brows. It looked like even heaven was helping her.

It really was a heaven-sent chance.

She hurriedly waved and raised her voice. “Miss Jiang, I’m here.”

Zhou Tong He didn’t want to get involved in Zhou Ling’s business at all. He tossed out a line, “Do whatever you want. I’ll pretend I don’t know. You pretend you didn’t see me…” As he spoke, he walked off around the corner on the other side. He slipped away fast, afraid Jiang Shi Yue would see him.

He had barely run off when Jiang Shi Yue walked to the edge of the pool. Under the night sky, the water shimmered, and it was right there within reach.

She looked at Zhou Ling and immediately gave a sweet smile. “Miss Zhou, where did you go? We’ve all been looking for you. Come back quickly.” As she spoke, she headed back first and motioned for Zhou Ling to follow.

There was a path to the pool paved with colorful pebbles. Where they stood, it was still more than ten steps away, and Jiang Shi Yue strolled along the poolside at an unhurried pace.

Zhou Ling answered, “Okay.” She gave Jiang Shi Yue a probing look, but didn’t spot anything unusual. Her gaze flickered, and she instantly reached out toward Jiang Shi Yue’s back.

But in that very instant, her wrist was caught in a sudden grip from Jiang Shi Yue, who had turned around.

Jiang Shi Yue didn’t seem to use much force, yet Zhou Ling felt like her bones were about to snap. The crushing pain made her face go deathly pale, but she couldn’t force out a single sound.

At last, she stared at Jiang Shi Yue in terror.

Jiang Shi Yue spoke with a smile. “Miss Zhou, you really chose Plan Two. You know me – I like an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. If you drugged me to hurt me, I’d pay you back the same way. But if you want to shove me into the pool, then I’ll shove you in too.”

The smile in her eyes only grew lighter. “Look at that – I can finally relax. Good thing you chose Plan Two, or you really would have made a complete fool of yourself today.”

Jiang Shi Yue let go.

Zhou Ling’s mind exploded. Plan Two? Did she hear what she and big brother said just now?

Impossible. Just now, it had only been her and big brother, and she had clearly seen Jiang Shi Yue come out from the banquet hall.

From this far away, could she really have heard them?

What was going on?

Zhou Ling’s face turned deathly pale as she shrieked, “You… you, what are you trying to do?! I’m telling you, I’m a young lady of the Zhou Family! If you dare treat me like this, my parents won’t let you off!” Her whole body shook violently. She instinctively tried to run, but her foot suddenly stepped onto the edge of the pool.
