Chapter 43: I’m Back

Song Li Na completely fell into a bottomless abyss of terror.

Only Shen Mo stood there, smiling at her. She still looked like the pure, innocent girl from more than twenty years ago. Even if she died, Song Li Na would never forget that face. Shen Mo said gently, four words: “I’m back.”

“I heard Professor Song was rushed to the hospital last night.” As Jiang Shi Yue came downstairs, she heard the servants at home whispering.

“Really? How do you know?”

“My cousin is Professor Song’s driver. He told me.”

“Professor Song was perfectly fine yesterday. Why did she go to the hospital today?”

One servant glanced around and lowered her voice. “They say her house is haunted!”

“Haunted!” The other servant widened her eyes and raised her voice without thinking.

That servant quickly covered her mouth and shot her a glare. “Watch your mouth. Don’t go around saying that.”

Jiang Shi Yue calmly withdrew her gaze. She walked down the stairs unhurriedly. The two servants quickly called softly, “Eldest miss.”

Jiang Shi Yue gave them a gentle smile. She looked cheerful and sweet, very easy to like.

After Jiang Shi Yue left, the two continued talking, their voices full of regret.

“Such a gentle eldest miss. How can her fate be so miserable?”

“Isn’t it? Her birth mother is gone, and her birth father doesn’t even care about her.”

The corners of Jiang Shi Yue’s lips lifted slightly as she slowly walked out of the courtyard. The sunlight was dazzling, everything full of life, coated in a warm glow by the sun.

Song Li Na came from a well-off family, so she was sent straight to the best hospital in C City. This hospital was actually the Fu Family’s property. Anyone who could get treatment here was probably either wealthy or powerful.

Jiang Shi Yue carried a bouquet of flowers and walked into the hospital building. Song Li Na’s ward was in the vip rooms. Jiang Shi Yue told the young nurse that her family and the Zhao Family were old family friends, and she wanted to pay a visit.

The young nurse didn’t doubt Jiang Shi Yue much. Song Li Na being hospitalized was something only family members knew. Besides, Jiang Shi Yue carried herself gracefully and didn’t look like an ordinary family’s girl. Her name had already been registered as well.

Song Li Na’s ward was fairly good, connected to an open-air balcony.

When Jiang Shi Yue entered the room, Song Li Na was on the balcony sunbathing. Jiang Shi Yue spoke with a bright smile, “Professor Song, are you feeling better?”

Song Li Na’s body jolted. She turned around, and her voice rose a few notches by instinct. “Jiang Shi Yue.”

“I came to see you.” Jiang Shi Yue set the flowers down on the table. She looked at Song Li Na with a smiling face. “I heard you were hospitalized, and I was really worried.”

In Song Li Na’s ears, the sentence Jiang Shi Yue said yesterday suddenly rang out again- “It’s not that retribution won’t come. It’s that the time hasn’t arrived!”

Her face grew even paler. Without realizing it, she clenched the blanket draped over her legs, gripping it so hard that the veins stood out on her hand.
