Chapter 38: The Black Mole Was Gone

Song Li Na stood completely stunned. She parted her lips, her whole body stiff. She clearly saw the unfathomable look on Jiang Shi Yue’s face, but Jiang Shi Yue did not look at her again and slowly walked back inside.

But the moment she finished, a hard slap landed on her face, and Jiang Mei Ling froze.

She forgot to cry. Tears pooled in her eyes as she covered her cheek and stared blankly at her mother. She had not expected this at all.

Chen Xue Ru did not hold back at all. Jiang Mei Ling’s face swelled up high, and her pretty features suddenly looked almost ridiculous.

From childhood until now, her mother had never hit her!

Tears spilled again, even harder than before. Sobbing, she said, “Mom, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have treated Sister like that. I also… I didn’t mean to hurt her. I just…”

Mei Ling, do you know where you went wrong? You went wrong by not being ruthless enough. Someone like you will never accomplish anything.”

Hearing those words, Jiang Mei Ling was completely stunned. She held her swollen cheek, and she did not even seem to feel pain – it only felt numb.

One very important reason she had always hated Jiang Shi Yue was that her mother was so gentle with Jiang Shi Yue, yet strict with her in every way since childhood.
