Chapter 28
Chapter 28: South City Villa (6)
Jiang Zi Chen shut his eyes by reflex, but the pain he imagined never came. He opened them carefully and realized Jiang Shi Yue was holding him up. But how was that possible? He had clearly seen that there was still some distance between them. How could she appear by his side so fast?
Jiang Shi Yue shoved him away and said bluntly, “Idiot, you go out first. Don’t get in my way.”
He didn’t even argue about being called an idiot, but leaving a woman here was not something a decent person would do.
He was about to argue back, but then he saw Jiang Shi Yue glance at him. The cold light in her eyes seemed to write two words: “Get out!”
That look scared Jiang Zi Chen so much his body went stiff. He didn’t know why, but Jiang Shi Yue suddenly seemed scarier than a ghost. He grit his teeth, stopped wasting words, and bolted out.
The living room was dead quiet, and the air had fallen into a kind of burning tension. Jiang Shi Yue tilted her head to look at “Chen Ze.” She suddenly smiled, like a child who had found something new, and her tone even carried a bit of excitement. “Interesting. So it really does have a solid form.”
But as soon as she finished speaking, Jiang Zi Chen’s roar rang out. He held a wooden stick he didn’t know where he’d picked up, and he actually ran back into the villa’s living room. “Jiang Shi Yue, run!!!”
As he spoke, he swung the stick hard at “Chen Ze,” but the stick passed right through him, like hitting air.
Instead, a terrifying force clamped around Jiang Zi Chen’s neck. Strands of creepy black hair crawled onto his body. He felt his neck twist into a strange angle. In the next second, his head was about to be snapped off, and the pain nearly made him faint.
“Run!” Jiang Zi Chen forced a few words out of his throat, and in the next second he fell into darkness.
Jiang Shi Yue rubbed her forehead and let out a sigh so soft it was almost inaudible, as if speaking to herself. “Sigh. I told you to get out and you wouldn’t listen. You took a harsh lesson from reality for nothing.”
Then she looked at “Chen Ze.” Jiang Shi Yue spoke calmly, and her pitch-black almond eyes churned with coldness. “You want to kill him.”
In the next second, she almost didn’t give “Chen Ze” any time to react. She reached out and thrust her hand through his body.
It was as if she had touched something solid. Jiang Shi Yue clenched her fingers. Countless strands of transparent gas coiled around her palm. Her movements looked lazy, yet she clenched easily.
“Chen Ze” struggled desperately, but couldn’t move. He could feel his body slowly melting in her hand. Since the day he took shape, he had never suffered a loss like this. He screamed, almost shrill, “Who are you?!”
Jiang Shi Yue spoke thoughtfully, her tone as gentle as ever. “A few years ago, I read in a book that there really is a kind of mental power with form. Not only can it change shape at will, it can also have its own consciousness. If I remember correctly, I should call you a psychic entity. It’s actually my first time seeing a psychic entity, and you even have a strong will to live… Tell me a story. Maybe I can let you go…”
“Chen Ze” froze and spoke with difficulty. “What story?”
“Your story,” Jiang Shi Yue said with a bright smile.
“Chen Ze” was like someone grabbing onto hope. He spoke quickly, as if trying hard to make his tone more vivid. “My name is Shen Mo… no… I’m actually Shen Mo’s consciousness…”
