Chapter 26
Chapter 26: Upholding Justice
Jiang Li Sheng truly felt like she had some kind of luck—whether in Qing Xu Sect or after coming to Kun Lun Sect, she offended people just as easily and ended up hunted just as often.
What kind of rotten mess was this?
She turned to An Ru Xu. His face was pale, and the sword wound went clean through him, front to back. Blood seeped steadily. If he were an ordinary person, he’d be dead already. But he was a cultivator—he forced spiritual power through the wound to stop the bleeding.
Even so, it wouldn’t heal fast unless he was willing to use high-grade spiritual medicine. A single dose cost tens of thousands of spirit stones, but it could close the wound quickly. Otherwise, he’d be bedridden for days.
Zhao Ke Xin had truly struck with lethal intent.
Jiang Li Sheng’s spiritual power could heal him, but her power was nearly gone after repairing Wei Qing Lan’s spirit mansion.
She stayed silent for a moment, then asked, “Senior Brother An, should we ask Hall Master Zhou to uphold justice? Zhao Ke Xin stabbed you—we can’t just let her walk away. If you hadn’t rushed out, she would’ve killed me. She’s attacked me again and again. Even though you’re the one injured, we can’t let it go. Otherwise, she’ll do it again. She has to be punished.”
Kun Lun Sect’s rules were strict. Jiang Li Sheng had no idea how Peak Master Jin taught disciples—liking a man, yet targeting women instead.
Like it was “those who obey prosper, those who defy perish.”
What kind of logic was that?
She wasn’t accepting it.
An Ru Xu looked at Jiang Li Sheng’s pale face. He was quiet for a moment, then gritted his teeth and nodded. “Fine.”
He also felt it couldn’t be brushed aside. Zhao Ke Xin truly had tried to kill Junior Sister Jiang.
Even if it happened after Jiang Li Sheng cursed her—and cursed her harshly—that was because Zhao Ke Xin had insulted Qing Xu Sect again and again. Insulting someone personally was one thing; insulting their sect was another. If someone insulted Kun Lun Sect, he wouldn’t accept it either.
He truly believed this wasn’t Jiang Li Sheng’s fault.
Jiang Li Sheng immediately tapped her message token and sent a message to Zhou Zhen Yan, asking him to send someone over. She said Zhao Ke Xin had nearly killed her, that An Ru Xu had taken a sword for her, and that she wanted him to uphold justice.
After sending the message, she asked, “Senior Brother An, can you still hold on? Should I send you to the Medical Hall first?”
An Ru Xu shook his head. “You probably can’t even fly your sword right now. Forget it. I’ll endure. We’ll wait for Martial Uncle Zhou. He’ll send someone to take me to the Medical Hall.”
Jiang Li Sheng nodded. “All right.”
She watched him pull a bottle of pills from his storage ring, tip out two, and swallow them. Then he shuffled a few steps, leaned against the wall, and waited, breathing hard.
Jiang Li Sheng had almost no spiritual power left. She couldn’t heal him, and she couldn’t do much else. All she could do was stay beside him and wait.
Zhou Zhen Yan arrived quickly. The moment he heard An Ru Xu had been stabbed, he couldn’t ignore it.
He took one look at them and frowned. One was pale and weak; the other had blood soaking his chest, and there was a pool of blood on the ground. “What happened?”
An Ru Xu took out an image-recording stone and handed it over, voice weak. “Martial Uncle Zhou, see for yourself.”
Zhou Zhen Yan played it. The events unfolded clearly. When it ended, his face had gone dark. “Outrageous.”
He didn’t return the stone right away. Instead, he turned to Jiang Li Sheng. “You weren’t injured. Why are you this weak?”
Jiang Li Sheng explained simply, “I repaired Senior Brother Wei’s spirit mansion and used some spiritual power.”
“‘Some’?” Zhou Zhen Yan looked her over. “It was more than that.”
Then, unexpectedly, he nodded with approval. “I didn’t expect an injury that even Senior Brother Ying couldn’t handle would be healed by your spiritual power. Not bad.”
He waved a hand. “Since you just came from the Medical Hall, it means you can’t recover quickly even there. Go back and rest. Leave this to me. I’ll handle it.”
“You can’t punish her lightly,” Jiang Li Sheng said at once. “You saw it. She insulted Qing Xu Sect. That’s the same as driving a wedge between the friendly relationship of two sects. And she tried to kill a fellow disciple—she went for the kill. She must be punished heavily.”
“I know,” Zhou Zhen Yan snapped. “She’s mostly at fault, but you’re not blameless either. Your spiritual power was almost gone, and instead of protecting yourself, you cursed back and enraged her. If An Ru Xu hadn’t rushed out, you would’ve been killed.”
His eyes narrowed. “Overestimating yourself and throwing an egg at a stone—that’s stupidity. Arguing just to save face is even more stupid.”
Jiang Li Sheng bristled. “So she can curse me, but I can’t curse back?”
“You can curse back,” Zhou Zhen Yan said, “but where’s your strength? Does your strength allow it? You could’ve come to me to punish her instead of putting yourself in danger.”
Jiang Li Sheng muttered, “If she really killed me, my master would grind her bones to ash.”
Zhou Zhen Yan choked. “Then you’d still be dead. Even if your master ground her bones to ash a hundred times, what would that change?”
Jiang Li Sheng shut her mouth.
Zhou Zhen Yan looked like his headache had turned physical. Weak, yet unable to swallow any insult—he truly didn’t understand how her bones and brain were built, or how Sect Master Yu had taught her.
He exhaled slowly. “Since you didn’t start this, I won’t punish you. I will punish her. I’ll speak with Peak Master Jin of Spirit Beast Peak and settle the punishment.”
He added, “Don’t worry. She insulted Qing Xu Sect, attacked fellow disciples, and struck with lethal intent. It won’t be light.”
Jiang Li Sheng finally nodded, satisfied.
Zhou Zhen Yan turned to An Ru Xu, face even less friendly. “I’ll send someone to take you to the Medical Hall. How many times do you get injured in a day? How many times do you run to the Medical Hall? Tell me.”
He snorted. “When your master returns, see if he doesn’t deal with you.”
An Ru Xu looked wronged. “Martial Uncle Zhou, I don’t want to go to the Medical Hall either.”
He truly felt unlucky. He didn’t think he’d deliberately provoked any young miss. How had it ended up like this?
But at least he’d rushed out in time. If Jiang Li Sheng had been injured, it would’ve been far worse. If Zhao Ke Xin had truly killed Junior Sister Jiang and the trouble started because of him, he’d have had to die to atone.
He pressed a hand to his wound and sighed. “Thank you, Martial Uncle Zhou.”
Zhou Zhen Yan grumbled, hauled An Ru Xu onto his sword, and personally took him to the Medical Hall. At the same time, he sent word to Peak Master Jin Wang Chou of Spirit Beast Peak and Hall Master Mo Ru Yan of the Steward Hall, ordering them to come to the Discipline Hall in half an hour to decide Zhao Ke Xin’s punishment.
