Chapter 97
Chapter 97: Power-Storing Method
In the distance, Wu Mian looked surprised. “I thought they’d abandon that planet and run. Instead, they’re moving the battlefield.”
His gaze sharpened. “Looks like that Guest Elder really cares about his hometown.”
Jin Chu’s tone was heavy. “Speed up. We can’t let the Guest Elder be harmed.”
The Luo Bone crashed into a mountain range with a heavy thud.
Massive peaks shattered. Cracks spread across the earth. Even magma sprayed into the sky.
Luo Kingdom fighters poured out, surging toward the ship in the distance.
Inside the ship, Wang Jie stripped off his outer garment, revealing a body carved by combat—solid muscle and old scars.
“Senior Xuan,” he said, calm and steady, “I’m counting on you.”
Xuan took a drag of his cigarette. “Nice.”
Wang Jie smiled faintly, stepped out, raised his sword, and pointed toward the Luo Bone.
There, Kui Yan stood at the front, watching him with a feral grin, tongue flicking over his lips like he was tasting future blood.
Wang Jie charged.
His figure flashed forward, and Luo Kingdom fighters fell in a straight line before him. He carved a path—direct, brutal, unwavering.
A Star-Breaking Realm Luo Kingdom fighter roared and thrust its palm forward.
Bone erupted out of its arm. Flesh swelled behind it, bulking its forearm and packing it with destructive power—a Star-Breaking Realm battle skill.
Wang Jie locked onto it and raised a finger.
Heaven and Earth Luo Xuan Finger.
Power erupted.
The force punched through the creature’s arm and blew through its skull.
Its body kept charging on sheer inertia, only collapsing after it had stumbled a long distance.
Kui Yan’s eyes narrowed.
Can the Ten Seals really be this strong?
From the side, another Luo Kingdom fighter charged in—a Full-Star Realm.
It leaped high and hammered a punch down.
Wang Jie didn’t even turn.
Xuan crossed the sky and slapped the attacker aside.
The Luo Kingdom fighter twisted and struck back at Xuan.
Fist met palm.
Their power detonated outward, crushing the mountains again. Magma boiled and shot into the sky like crimson fireworks.
In the sparks, Wang Jie rushed Kui Yan and slashed.
Kui Yan sneered. “Looking for death.”
A Ten Seals might kill a Star-Breaking Realm—but a Full-Star Realm?
And Kui Yan was no ordinary Full-Star Realm.
In his hand, a huge blade spun into motion.
One slash came down like an executioner’s sentence.
Clang.
Wang Jie’s sword met the blade.
Kui Yan twisted, the massive edge locking Wang Jie’s sword before flinging it aside with terrifying strength.
Wang Jie was thrown back, barely keeping his grip.
So strong.
He stepped with Jia Eight Steps midair, twisting his sword to hook the huge blade instead.
Kui Yan’s eyes sharpened in surprise.
He couldn’t find Wang Jie’s position—yet his own blade was being dragged.
Was this human really that strong?
Kui Yan roared and forced his body to twist.
The ground beneath his feet shattered completely.
Wang Jie unleashed Star-Gazing Sword Form.
Sword light rained down like falling stars.
With another thunderous boom, Wang Jie’s sword shattered under the strain.
The huge blade cracked too, unable to bear the cascading force.
Kui Yan bent so far it looked like his body might fold in half.
Then he snapped blade and handle apart with brute strength and swung the broken handle at Wang Jie.
Wang Jie had never seen a fighting style this reckless.
With no choice, he raised his left arm.
The handle slammed into his wrist guard and knocked him back.
Fragments of sword and blade tinked onto the ground.
Kui Yan stared, stunned.
This human wasn’t injured.
Wang Jie glanced at his wrist guard. His entire arm was numb from the violent impact.
Full-Star Realm really was different.
Its strength still exceeded his.
And now he couldn’t bring out his best advantages freely.
In the distance, Xuan’s battle was just as savage. Both fighters were bleeding, trading blows that could shatter mountains.
And the remaining Luo Kingdom fighters were beginning to rush that way.
No one could be allowed to interfere with Xuan.
Wang Jie rushed toward them, striking without hesitation.
Kui Yan’s gaze turned cold as he followed.
Wang Jie pointed again.
Spiral qi force swept across the battlefield, piercing through Luo Kingdom fighters again and again.
Wang Jie was fast, brutal, efficient.
Even Kui Yan couldn’t catch him.
Grinding his teeth, Kui Yan abandoned Wang Jie and headed straight for Xuan’s battlefield.
Seeing Kui Yan about to strike Xuan, Wang Jie had no choice but to abandon the others.
He pointed again.
Heaven and Earth Luo Xuan Finger stretched across the air.
One enormous finger pressed down from above. One surged up from below.
They crushed toward Kui Yan with overwhelming force.
Kui Yan looked up. “What is that?”
He punched.
Both fingers shattered.
But in that instant, Wang Jie was already close.
Qi and force merged.
Wang Jie spun into a kick.
Kui Yan reached to grab him—too late.
He’d underestimated Wang Jie.
The kick blasted Kui Yan away.
A section of Kui Yan’s chest caved in as his body slammed into the mountains.
Wang Jie pressed the advantage.
Kui Yan exploded out of the rock, roaring, fists smashing together as starforce surged into him.
One punch—
Boom.
Wang Jie was blasted back by the massive power. Even with qi and force merging, he couldn’t withstand starforce detonating inside the blow.
Kui Yan chased, bringing another fist down from above.
Qi and force merging couldn’t block it.
Wang Jie switched.
Qi-Qi Convergence.
Two streams of qi fused into one.
A transparent flame formed around him.
Wang Jie caught Kui Yan’s punching fist, flipped, and kicked Kui Yan in the face, snapping his head aside.
Then he flipped again and hurled Kui Yan hard.
Kui Yan crashed into a cluster of Luo Kingdom fighters.
Bodies burst apart one after another.
At the end, a Star-Breaking Realm Luo Kingdom fighter managed to brace itself and stop Kui Yan from plowing through more.
Kui Yan’s eyes widened, disbelief warping his face.
How could a Ten Seals cultivator have battle power like this?
Impossible.
Absolutely impossible.
Not only Kui Yan—Jin Chu and Wu Mian were shaken as well.
They knew Wang Jie was strong. Strong enough, perhaps, to fight a Star-Breaking Realm… maybe even hold his own against a Full-Star Realm for a short time.
But to suppress Kui Yan?
A powerhouse even Frost Splendor Sect had records on?
It made no sense.
Yet Wang Jie had one decisive advantage.
A Full-Star Realm cultivator’s greatest strength against lower realms was control over starforce.
What was a Full-Star Realm?
It meant absorbing and wielding the starforce of an entire planet.
A Star-Breaking Realm could never do that.
That was the difference.
A Full-Star Realm could strip, suppress, even absorb the starforce inside a lower cultivator, creating absolute pressure through starforce dominance.
But Wang Jie didn’t cultivate starforce.
Kui Yan’s most powerful advantage failed outright.
So the battle became a brawl.
And if Wang Jie did cultivate starforce, this fight wouldn’t have looked like this at all.
In the distance, Xuan fought like a man gambling his life.
To keep that other Full-Star Realm from interfering with Wang Jie, he was carving his own grave with every exchange.
Wang Jie panted.
Qi-Qi Convergence could spike his combat power, but it burned through him at a terrifying rate.
Not only his qi—his physical strength was draining too.
He had to end this soon.
Kui Yan thought the same.
A dignified Full-Star Realm conqueror of battlefields being driven back by a Ten Seals human…
He couldn’t accept it.
Kui Yan slowly bent at the waist, his entire body shifting into a predator’s crouch.
Inside him, the starforce he’d been explosively releasing began to draw inward.
In the distance, Jin Chu’s heart sank. “Power-Storing Method.”
Wu Mian’s voice was low. “Luo Kingdom’s Power-Storing Method is simple and brutal, but it works. A standard fight-to-the-death technique.”
His eyes narrowed. “The Guest Elder is in trouble.”
Wang Jie watched Kui Yan carefully and felt something wrong.
Kui Yan’s qi—once spread across his whole body—began to separate and gather at each bone joint.
That qi came from Kui Yan himself… and from starforce.
Mostly starforce.
Now it was concentrating at his joints.
What is he doing?
Wang Jie’s qi sight made it painfully clear.
Even without it, he could see Kui Yan’s dark-red muscles compress as his body shrank slightly—like a coil tightening.
Unease climbed Wang Jie’s spine.
He wouldn’t wait.
Jia Eight Steps.
He flashed behind Kui Yan, and with qi fusion boosting him, drove a punch into Kui Yan’s back.
Kui Yan didn’t react in time. He couldn’t see through Jia Eight Steps either.
But Wang Jie’s fist felt like it had struck stone.
It only shoved Kui Yan back a few meters.
Kui Yan spun and swept a palm strike across.
Wang Jie raised his arm to block—
His body was slapped away.
The strength was greater than before.
And Kui Yan’s reaction was faster too—so fast Wang Jie didn’t even have time to step again.
Wang Jie flipped and landed.
Ahead, Kui Yan arched back, muscles taut, his whole body like a bowstring pulled to its limit.
The air around him twisted.
The ground spat shards of stone.
Magma crept through widening cracks, pushing up scorching heat.
A gale swept in from afar, uprooting trees.
Wang Jie thrust a hand into a tree, tore off a thick branch, and held it like a sword.
Star-Gazing Sword Form.
The branch tapped the void lightly.
Sword qi fell like starlight, stabbing toward Kui Yan.
Kui Yan arched back even farther—past what should have been possible.
Then, with a sound like a snapped string, he vanished and shot toward Wang Jie at unbelievable speed.
Wang Jie’s pupils shrank.
He flung the branch.
Kui Yan smashed it apart.
Wang Jie stepped Jia Eight Steps and retreated.
A dark-red arm brushed past, and the air sliced like blades, carving a deep gash across Wang Jie’s throat.
Wang Jie stepped again—then again—disappearing in flickers.
Kui Yan couldn’t find him, so he attacked everything around him.
His body left afterimages as he flashed nonstop.
Wang Jie was struck in the right shoulder and hurled away.
Kui Yan chased, close enough to smell blood.
Wang Jie looked up at Kui Yan’s falling fist and clenched his own.
Using a finger as a sword, he unleashed Star-Gazing Sword Form.
Sword qi rained down at Kui Yan’s joints.
At the same time, Wang Jie took the blow head-on, forced to hard-block with his wrist guard.
Bang.
He was blasted away.
Blood spilled from his mouth, and half his body went numb.
The sword qi struck Kui Yan.
It couldn’t break his physical defense.
But it scattered the starforce gathered at his joints, visibly disrupting his Power-Storing state.
Kui Yan jolted in surprise.
He hadn’t expected Wang Jie to target his joints so precisely.
This man understood Luo Kingdom’s Power-Storing Method.
Kui Yan stepped forward, pursuing again.
Wang Jie kept his eyes locked on him.
Inside his body, lockforce copied the concept, gathering at his own joints.
In an instant, he felt his control sharpen—like someone had tightened every thread in his body.
Using lockforce to drive his joints, he twisted aside.
Kui Yan rushed past him.
Missed.
That shouldn’t happen.
Kui Yan turned and attacked again.
Wang Jie moved again, lockforce dragging his body with strange precision.
As long as his eyes could follow, he could dodge.
It was completely different now.
Even his movements had changed.
He moved like a puppet—awkward, eerie, efficient.
Kui Yan saw it.
“Is this… Power-Storing Method?”
Wu Mian’s voice broke, shock raw. “Impossible.”
