Chapter 098
Chapter 98: The Final Battle
Jin Chu fixed his gaze on the distance, observing Wang Jie’s uncoordinated yet eerie body movements. He was using a force-driven method to propel his body, a technique so similar to the Gong Nation’s power accumulation method. But how was Wang Jie able to achieve it?
“The power accumulation method seems simple, but it actually requires a high level of mastery in applying power. It’s second only to the star method,” Jin Chu mused.
“Every practitioner of the Gong Nation must undergo intense hardships to master this method. Outsiders who attempt to learn it would suffer even more, as the Gong Nation’s bones are far larger than the average person’s,” he continued.
“If a regular person can learn the power accumulation method, it means they can also cultivate the star method.”
“A genius capable of cultivating the star method wouldn’t bother with the power accumulation method,” Wu Ming remarked, his confusion evident. Was Wang Jie such a genius that he could learn it with a single glance? But even if he understood the power accumulation method, it was incredibly difficult to learn, even step by step.
But Wang Jie had already learned it.
Without the armor eight steps, his pupils continuously spun, tracking every movement of Kui Rock. He wasn’t watching Kui Rock itself, but rather, he was focused on the flow of energy.
Kui Rock kept attacking around him but failed to land a single blow.
It roared, “Human, are you not brave enough to face me in a final battle?”
Wang Jie sneered, not even bothering to respond. Instead, he decided to test his Star Gazing Sword Style.
One of the materials for Sword Step was the Star Gazing Sword Style, which annihilates stars. It was the perfect time to use it. He would treat Kui Rock as a target.
Still, a twig would do. He didn’t need to engage Kui Rock directly, and his main focus remained on perfecting the Star Gazing Sword Style.
By practicing it while evading Kui Rock’s attacks, his progress was faster than usual.
In a short amount of time, he had increased his sword moves from twenty to forty strikes, using Lock Force to reduce the consumption of the Power Accumulation Method, making visible progress.
Kui Rock immediately turned toward Xuan, charging at him.
Wang Jie dashed toward Xuan, throwing something toward him—a Three Trick Formation book.
“Use this,” Wang Jie instructed.
Xuan, surprised that Wang Jie had such a book and willing to give it to him in the middle of this battle, responded, “Thank you.” He opened it without hesitation.
Immediately, the surrounding space shifted—the colors, smells, and images all became chaotic.
The Three Trick Formation could confuse even a Full Star Realm cultivator.
Especially effective against the Gong Nation people, who were not skilled in formation techniques and relied purely on brute strength.
As the formation was activated, the Gong Nation cultivator fighting Xuan couldn’t find him. Kui Rock also lost track of Xuan. Stunned by the sudden confusion, Wang Jie struck, piercing Kui Rock’s left leg joint with a single finger, causing Star Force to spill out.
It knelt on one knee, glaring at Wang Jie.
Wang Jie pointed again, this time hitting its right leg. Suddenly, he withdrew, as another Gong Nation cultivator, the one fighting Xuan, charged toward him. This one was also a Full Star Realm cultivator, though not as powerful as Kui Rock. Nonetheless, he surpassed Wang Jie by two realms.
Wang Jie immediately retreated.
The Gong Nation cultivator chased closely, swinging a massive iron club. As his body suddenly fell back, Xuan struck, using the Three Trick Formation to launch a sneak attack.
Kui Rock lowered its head, its fury building.
Wang Jie paid it no mind. Watching as the iron club swung toward him, he caught it with his hand and kicked it backward, sending the club hurtling toward Kui Rock, nearly knocking it over.
The Gong Nation cultivator roared, “Human, you coward!”
Kui Rock roared, turned, grabbed the iron club, and broke the barbed tips. In a shocking moment, it plunged the tips into its own body, causing blood to pour out, staining the ground.
Wang Jie was stunned, unsure of what it was trying to do.
With a loud crack, Kui Rock broke another barb off and, glaring at Wang Jie with its deep crimson eyes, drove it into its body again.
From a distance, Wu Ming shouted in alarm, “No, Blood Stabbing Method! Quick, someone stop it!”
Jin Chu asked in confusion, “Blood Stabbing Method?”
“This is a method unique to the Gong Nation, used to enhance battle power. By stabbing oneself, it increases blood flow speed. Because their bones and veins are larger than normal, the effect is fast. This allows them to boost their speed and strength. Kui Rock is going all out,” Wu Ming explained solemnly.
Jin Chu opened the spaceship door, ready to intervene.
Kui Rock stabbed four barbed tips into its own body, and its blood mist began to boil. Its body shrank, but something inside it moved—its blood, writhing.
Wang Jie’s pupils flickered. “Go!”
He and Xuan struck at the same time.
Kui Rock grinned cruelly, suddenly charging forward. Despite its left leg being broken, it was now faster than ever.
Wang Jie twisted his body to avoid the attack, but still, one blow struck his side, sending him flying.
Kui Rock leapt and struck again.
Just as the blow was about to land, Xuan intervened, using his strength to push Wang Jie away.
The strike missed, but the shockwave still pushed both Xuan and Wang Jie back.
Wang Jie’s vision blurred. Without hesitation, he activated Armor Eight Steps to retreat.
With a mighty roar, Kui Rock appeared again, its boiling blood surging upwards. It swung its arm, and Wang Jie could only raise his left arm to block, the force of the blow sending him flying.
He couldn’t stop it.
The speed and strength were overwhelming.
At that moment, two figures rushed in—Jin Chu and Wu Ming.
The world froze, the air growing icy, and snowflakes drifted down.
Kui Rock turned, meeting a bitterly cold, bone-chilling scene. White ice began to spread from the ground, freezing its legs. Wu Ming swung his sword toward Kui Rock’s frozen limbs.
With a roar, Kui Rock shattered the ice and kicked out, sending Wu Ming and his sword flying.
It then turned and punched toward Jin Chu.
Jin Chu furrowed his brows, raising his arms. In an instant, the air around them solidified into ice, but it shattered beneath Kui Rock’s punch.
All around them, Gong Nation soldiers charged toward them.
Jin Chu and Wu Ming, both Full Star Realm cultivators, found themselves unable to deal with Kui Rock at this moment.
Using the Blood Stabbing Method, Kui Rock had raised itself to the peak of Full Star Realm and was now fearless of death.
Wu Ming retreated. “We can’t fight head-on. Even if we kill it, we’ll suffer great losses.”
Jin Chu searched for Wang Jie. The Honored Guest couldn’t afford to fall.
Kui Rock’s roar grew louder, and once again, two barbed tips appeared in its hands, which it drove into its chest. The blood surged again, as if the monster were growing stronger.
From a distance, Wang Jie exhaled, raising his hand. A greyish energy swirled around his palm. The void opened, and a note appeared.
Signed—Qing Feng Unreturning Guest.
With a mighty crash, Kui Rock swung its arm, shattering mountains and sending lava surging toward Jin Chu and Wu Ming. It turned and charged at Wang Jie.
Wang Jie lowered his head, feeling the power surging within him.
Strange, yet familiar.
The borrowed power was still power.
“Honored Guest, be careful!” Jin Chu shouted.
Wang Jie looked up. A dark red fist was coming toward him. He clenched his fist, and two energy flows merged, rising like transparent flames, as he threw a punch.
Boom!
A deafening crash echoed as the shockwaves swept in all directions. The ground split, forming a vast crack stretching across the planet’s center, a black storm rising like a monster devouring the sky.
Jin Chu and Wu Ming nearly choked on the shockwave and were forced to retreat.
Was this power?
Kui Rock staggered back, disbelief written all over its face.
Its entire arm exploded.
Wang Jie’s hand shattered, but he only stepped back one pace, staring at Kui Rock. He used Lock Force to concentrate in his arm, a twig acting as his sword, and unleashed the Star Gazing Sword Style.
Sword Qi slashed toward Kui Rock.
Kui Rock retreated.
For the first time in its life, it felt fear—a fear of the unknown.
Gong Nation cultivators weren’t afraid of death; they took pride in it. But fear of the unknown was something all living creatures avoided. It couldn’t understand how a Ten Seal cultivator could wield such immense power, defeating a Full Star Realm opponent with ease.
This was impossible.
Not even the Gong Nation’s history recorded such an event.
Sword Qi cut through Kui Rock, digging into the earth, penetrating the planet, and finally slicing through the other side. The planet split in two.
The world erupted, the land cracked open, and the sea flooded into the rift.
Kui Rock glared at Wang Jie—shame, intense shame. It feared death, but only death could cleanse its humiliation.
Wang Jie’s sword Qi descended once again.
Kui Rock stared at the sword Qi, and once again, two barbed tips appeared in its hands, piercing its chest.
In the distance, Jin Chu saw this and shouted, “Honored Guest, run! It’s already beyond its limits. It’s going to die! The planet is splitting. We have to escape!”
Wang Jie gritted his teeth and turned to flee, shouting, “Xuan, hurry!”
He had no intention of fighting Kui Rock to the death.
But Kui Rock had no intention of letting him go. Its crimson eyes followed Wang Jie as it spat blood, leaping toward him. Its right arm was destroyed, but it wouldn’t stop. Its humiliation had to be washed away with blood.
Wang Jie activated Armor Eight Steps to avoid its attack.
The ground shattered again under Kui Rock’s punch.
The entire planet broke apart.
The remaining Gong Nation soldiers rushed toward Lao Bone.
The Gong Nation didn’t fear death, but that didn’t mean they were eager to die.
Xuan appeared from another direction, charging toward the destroyed ship. The ship they had been using was destroyed in the recent battle.
Kui Rock chased from behind.
At Wang Jie’s speed, he could easily board the ship ahead of the others, but even then, Kui Rock could still destroy it. The ship would need time to escape the planet’s destruction zone.
Jin Chu’s face turned pale. Had they acted sooner, they wouldn’t have let Kui Rock go this far.
Now, unless they killed Kui Rock, none of them would survive.
Suddenly, Wang Jie stopped and looked back at Kui Rock. “You all go.”
Jin Chu was stunned.
Wang Jie turned toward Kui Rock, the ground trembling as magma surged like waterfalls. He wasn’t seeking death, nor was he sacrificing himself for others. But right now, there was no one else capable of stopping Kui Rock.
Kui Rock was doomed. It knew it, and that’s why it had no intention of surviving. It wanted to drag them down with it.
Wang Jie had no choice but to give it everything he had.
“Kui Rock~~”
“Human~~”
Two terrifying forces collided, speeding up the planet’s explosion.
Jin Chu and Wu Ming boarded the ship, immediately activating it.
“Where’s the other one?” They noticed Xuan hadn’t boarded the ship either. Looking out, they saw him holding off another Full Star Realm Gong Nation cultivator, the one who had been overlooked earlier. Now, he was by the ship.
If it hadn’t been for Xuan, the ship might have been destroyed.
“Go.”
Without hesitation, they activated the ship and flew toward the edge of the planet’s destruction zone.
