Chapter 72
Chapter 72: ke li nuo grasslands
These sprays were basically a wardrobe cheat.
Ling Mo stared at the piles—so many bottles that she could use them for a long, long time.
And there were ready-made clothes too.
Ling Mo held one up to herself. It was massive, and the color looked like it was meant for men.
The tag listed the features: waterproof, fireproof, resistant to extreme cold and extreme heat, and insanely elastic—up to fifty times larger than its base size.
It immediately reminded Ling Mo of body enhancement talent users. Every time they fought, their clothes would rip apart.
She’d even seen a report on the news: a player awakened body enhancement, activated it mid-fight, and every piece of clothing on his body exploded off in an instant. He’d battled the enemy stark naked.
The broadcast had blurred it, but it had still been a painful thing to witness.
These clothes would sell like crazy back home. Stretchiness was only one advantage. They were also waterproof, fireproof, and resistant to both cold and heat. Extreme-weather survival gear, the kind you’d pay any price for.
A few hours later, Ling Mo stepped out of the warehouse—now completely empty—still feeling like she wanted more.
The little one stared at her in awe. “I can’t believe you’re really this fast. I thought Sister Leopard was exaggerating to trick me into hiring you.”
Turns out it hadn’t been exaggeration. If anything, it had been conservative.
After checking, the little one nodded in satisfaction. Then she opened the delicate pouch at her waist and dragged out a pile of items many times larger than her own body.
“You probably can’t get used to our nutrient solution. These are our newest products. Consider them your pay.”
Ling Mo glanced at her chest. Her smiley badge had lit up again.
Seven smiles now. Three more to go.
And she still had over four days left. Plenty of time.
After she put the items away, she asked, “Are there any other beastmen or beastman-run shops nearby?”
The little one tilted her head. “You want to keep looking for work?”
Ling Mo nodded. “I’ve still got a bunch of people at home waiting for me to feed them.”
The little one’s expression softened with sympathy. “Poor thing. Head east after you leave here. That’s all I can tell you—I don’t go out often, so I don’t know the area well.”
Ling Mo smiled shyly. “That’s already a huge help. Thank you.”
On her way out, she passed the racks again.
She’d only been here a short time, and her ears were already ringing. If she stayed much longer, she was honestly afraid she’d lose it.
The other players watched Ling Mo leave after finishing her task, envy plain on their faces.
Once outside, Ling Mo saw it was still early. If she moved fast, she might even score a double today.
Ever since that rain, she’d realized ke li nuo grasslands was like mo ka forest—treasures everywhere. She wanted time to roam and collect for herself, which meant finishing tasks as quickly as possible.
She glanced at her badge and murmured, “Three left.”
Maybe it was her imagination, but the smile on the badge seemed brighter than it had been on the first day.
Following the direction the Cloud Mulberry silkworm beastman had indicated, Ling Mo headed east.
Halfway there, a drizzle started up again. Luckily it was only light rain, and there was no thunder, so it didn’t slow them down much.
As Ling Mo walked, her mental power detected people ahead. She put away her electric scooter and continued on foot.
She hadn’t planned to bother with anyone—but then she recognized the figures in the rain.
Jiang Xin and Ye Kai.
Ling Mo looked at the two unlucky guys—her neighbors, too.
They were standing in the drizzle with their mouths open, staring up at the sky.
“Old Boss,” Ye Kai muttered, “we look so stupid.”
“Shut up,” Jiang Xin snapped, shooting him a glare. Of course he knew it was stupid. But if they couldn’t find another water source, what choice did they have?
Just as they stood there catching rainwater, a familiar voice called out, “What are you two doing?”
Ye Kai whipped around like he’d just seen a long-lost relative. His eyes lit up—right up until he noticed Ling Mo’s empty hands. Then the light went out.
“Old Boss and I are catching water to drink,” Ye Kai said. “Want some?”
Ling Mo shook her head. “With rain like this, you could stand here for an hour and still not get a mouthful.”
Then she asked, “Don’t you have nutrient solution?”
They weren’t weak, especially Jiang Xin. How had they ended up this miserable?
“Nutrient solution?” Ye Kai’s face crumpled. “We finished what we brought from the lion beastman ages ago. The past few days, Old Boss and I have been living off tree roots.”
The more he talked, the more wronged he sounded, like he was about to break into a sad little “Little Bai” song on the spot.
Ling Mo frowned. “After you ran out of the lion beastman’s nutrient solution, none of the other beastmen gave you any?”
Ye Kai gaped. “Other beastmen give nutrient solution too?”
Even Jiang Xin looked stunned.
One look at their reactions told Ling Mo everything.
They’d been working for free this whole time.
“You don’t mean to tell me that besides the lion beastman’s place, you never asked for anything anywhere else.”
Jiang Xin and Ye Kai fell silent.
They’d been so focused on speed—get a smile, leave immediately, find the next target—that they hadn’t realized what they were doing.
So all those days of chewing grass roots… for what?
No wonder those beastmen kept trying to stop them from leaving. They’d thought it was because the beastmen didn’t want them to go.
Ling Mo sighed, stepped closer, and handed each of them a bottle of nutrient tonic.
They didn’t refuse. This wasn’t the time to be proud. After days of eating roots, their stomachs had been protesting nonstop.
Once they’d finished drinking, Ling Mo searched nearby and found two water-storage mushrooms just sprouting in a patch of grass.
She demonstrated how to use them.
In return, she got two pairs of eyes filled with shock—and regret.
After eating and drinking properly, Ye Kai grinned and sidled up to Ling Mo. “Mo Mo, how did you know those mushrooms had water inside?”
Ling Mo stared at him, chin slightly lifted. “Pretty lady’s business. Don’t ask.”
She turned to leave. “Come on.”
“Hey, hey, don’t go!” Ye Kai hurried after her, dragging Jiang Xin along. “Let’s team up. The two of us will protect you—just feed us and keep us watered!”
He looked ready to cling to her leg if she tried to shake him off.

Ling Mo thought transmigrating meant a stress-free life—eat, sleep, and lie flat until the credits rolled.
Then she sat bolt upright on the verge of death and realized she’d grabbed the...
