Chapter 29
Chapter 29: Level 2
Ling Mo dug out a transparent piggy bank to hold the golden beans—freebies from when she’d bought gold.
The golden beans filled three and a half piggy banks before they finally stopped coming.
She glanced at the nearly smoking typewriter, reached out to touch it, and almost blistered her finger.
After putting the printer away, Ling Mo looked at the gemstones she’d collected today.
Besides jade, there were agates, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, diamonds, and more.
Once her mental power level was high enough, she should be able to use these gems to craft plenty of tools.
She built a warehouse just for storing them.
Even after she filled it with gold and gems, the warehouse still felt empty. Sure enough, she liked it better when a warehouse was packed to the brim.
After leaving her pocket space, Ling Mo washed up and started meditating. She had no idea what kind of uproar she’d caused online.
Three Spoons: “Soy Sauce Drunk—if you see this, please contact me. I’m willing to gift you an entire building in the capital. I don’t mean anything else. I just want to be your friend.”
Horse by the Wall: “That?? is so loud I can hear it from the other side of Blue Star.”
Watching Wind in Snow: “Seriously, what is Soy Sauce Drunk’s identity? First Interstellar machines, now news about the next instance. Could he be a mole planted by Wan Xing people on our Blue Star?”
I Love Hotpot: “If that’s true, that’s terrifying. The authorities should arrest him ASAP.”
Hahaha haha: “Maybe Blue Star ended up like this because these aliens did it. Arrest him. They must arrest him!”
The game forum and the wider internet were on fire. With the heat keeping people indoors, they poured all that extra energy into arguing online.
In her room, Ling Mo’s breathing grew slow and deep, as if she were sinking into the night itself.
She felt her mental power expand to its limit—then hit something, like an invisible net tightening around it.
Her mental power slammed against that net again and again, trying to tear through.
The next morning, her 6:00 a.m. alarm rang on time.
Ling Mo slowly opened her eyes.
She had actually meditated all night. And when she sat up and stretched, there was no discomfort at all—no groggy fatigue, no exhaustion like pulling an all-nighter.
Thinking about what she’d felt yesterday, her gaze fell on the lamp on her bedside table.
She focused.
Nothing.
She tried again with a slightly lighter book.
Still nothing.
Finally, she took out a snow-white goose feather.
This time, she successfully made it float.
She remembered what she’d learned on the learning machine: once mental power reached level 2, telekinesis became possible.
So her instincts yesterday had been right. That bound-up sensation had been a sign she was about to break through.
After breakfast, Ling Mo didn’t study like she usually did.
She cleared out the living room furniture that got in the way, then hauled bags of potting soil out of her pocket space and poured it into blue plastic crates.
She didn’t plant every crate. She took out five and tested easy crops: potatoes, sweet potatoes, Little Bai greens, cherry tomatoes, and lettuce.
If it worked, she’d plant more inside the house.
She didn’t use only store-bought soil, either. She dug a bit of earth from her pocket space and mixed it in.
Once she finished, she finally sat down to study.
But now she trained mental power at the same time.
Ling Mo studied at her computer while, on the desk, a white feather floated in midair. It dipped itself into ink and began writing on paper.
After a while, Ling Mo looked at the results.
That wasn’t handwriting. It was chaos.
Still, from the first sheet to the last, there was progress—slow, but visible.
Ling Mo didn’t rush it. You had to improve bit by bit, like learning to write as a child. Nobody started with beautiful penmanship.
In the afternoon, Ling Mo went to the gym.
She’d already stored away the equipment, replacing it with a wooden target and a recurve bow.
Since she’d bought Thousand-Feather Bow, she figured it was time to learn how to draw and shoot properly, too.
She found a beginner archery tutorial online and followed along.
By the end of the afternoon, the target was spotless while arrows were scattered everywhere around it. Ling Mo couldn’t understand it. She was aiming at the target, so why couldn’t she hit it?
Just then, her pickup alert rang, reminding her it was time to go out.
Because of the heat spike, Ling Mo deliberately delayed her outing by an hour. It was still brutally hot, but it was better than yesterday.
When she reached the electric scooter shop, Ling Mo waved her hand and bought all the dozen-plus scooters in the store, every model they had. She also picked up seven or eight electric tricycles.
She was about to leave when she noticed they sold electric kick scooters and balance boards too.
She ordered those as well.
Over the next few days, life was dull but full.
The good news was her mental power and archery both improved quickly. The bad news was the temperature climbed again; the daytime average had already hit 60°C.
People got used to moving around at night, but even then it was still 40°C, sometimes close to 50°C.
Thanks to Ling Mo’s warning, many players began preparing for the next game round.
They might not be sent to Mo Ka Primeval Forest, but what if they were?
During that time, Ling Mo sold another batch of food and traded it for plenty of gold, silver, and gemstones.
The jade she got wasn’t great quality, but that made sense. The best jade was in the hands of the rich, and the rich weren’t short on food or water. They wouldn’t trade top-grade jade for animal organs.
Watching her warehouse slowly fill up, Ling Mo finally understood the joy of a dragon.
A glittering mountain of gold—who wouldn’t love it?
According to the game System, today was the start of the third game round.
Ling Mo didn’t go out like usual. Instead, she started preparing early.
She washed her hair, pinned it up, and put on a hat, a mask, camouflage clothes, and hiking boots.
Then she stored the food, weapons, medicine, and anything else she might need in her pocket space.
That way, when she needed something, she could take it out immediately—without exposing her pocket space.

Ling Mo thought transmigrating meant a stress-free life—eat, sleep, and lie flat until the credits rolled.
Then she sat bolt upright on the verge of death and realized she’d grabbed the...
