Chapter 244
Chapter 244: You Finally Realized I Was Seducing You
Jiang Tea Tea followed his gesture and looked down.
Sure enough, a thick dragon tail was coiled around her ankle and calf, pinned under her legs.
She hurriedly lifted her legs and peeled the tail free, trying to sound confident while her voice stumbled. “W-what do you mean my legs were pressing your tail? Your tail was clearly wrapping around my legs.”
Yes. It was his tail wrapping her.
This evil dragon was accusing her first, just to justify climbing into her bed.
Reserve food. Super-tonic dragon. Scheming to the core.
Chong Ming flicked his tail, brow lifting. “Jiang Tea Tea. You even pried off my tail scales. And you’re still saying I wrapped you?”
Jiang Tea Tea blurted, without thinking, “How could I pry them off? You’re huge and strong. In beast form, your scales are the size of a palm. What would I pry them with—my foot—”
She cut off mid-sentence.
Two scales really were missing.
Fresh red flesh showed beneath, raw but not bleeding.
Chong Ming pushed his tail closer, as if offering it for inspection. “Classmate Jiang Tea Tea. Are the wounds fresh?”
Jiang Tea Tea forced a laugh. “Fresh. Very fresh.”
She stared at the missing scales, a cold doubt crawling up her spine.
Was it really her?
Did she do it in her sleep?
Had she started sleeping that deeply?
Chong Ming’s voice carried a teasing edge. “Your legs pressed my tail. The wounds are this fresh. If you insist it wasn’t you, are you saying I pried them off myself?”
Jiang Tea Tea made a noise of pure defeat and immediately changed the subject. “What time is it? How long did I sleep? Don’t you need to get up and work?”
“You slept two days and three nights,” Chong Ming said. “It’s 3 a.m. on the third night. I worked two days and two nights straight. I only came to sleep after midnight.”
He lifted his tail slightly, expression bland. “I hadn’t even fallen into deep sleep before you pried off my scales. It hurt. Then you woke up.”
Jiang Tea Tea coughed, awkward. “I… see. In that case, why don’t I give you the bed? I’ll go walk around downstairs.”
Chong Ming sprawled across the bed with lazy authority. “No need. Dawn’s in a little over two hours. Just sleep.”
Jiang Tea Tea went rigid.
Sleep?
How?
Half human, half dragon, bare skin and gleaming scales right beside her, a tail that kept trying to coil around her legs—how was she supposed to sleep?
She couldn’t.
Chong Ming patted the mattress. “Lie down. Keep sleeping. Like you did in the imperial palace.”
Jiang Tea Tea didn’t lie down. Instead, she yanked the blanket up and tossed it over his bare upper body. “Cover yourself.”
Chong Ming blinked, only his golden eyes visible above the edge of the blanket. “I’m not cold. You can cover yourself.”
“Not cold or not, cover up,” Jiang Tea Tea insisted, pressing the blanket down. “If you freeze and get diarrhea, don’t blame me. And, um… I’m done sleeping. I won’t—”
Before she could finish, Chong Ming flipped the blanket over her and pinned her down with his presence. His arm held her firmly, his breath warm against her neck, like he was afraid she’d vanish again.
“Sleep,” he ordered.
Jiang Tea Tea lay stiffly under the blanket. After a long moment, she managed, “While I was asleep… did anything happen?”
Chong Ming answered with his eyes closed. “Nothing enormous. Just confirmation that anyone infected with the super virus—beastfolk, pure human, or beast—is permanently infected. There’s no cure.”
“Blazing Star had a small outbreak too. Luckily it was beasts, not beastfolk or pure human. They’ve already begun large-scale culling, destruction, disinfection, and isolation.”
“Nan Bei Star still hasn’t found the super virus source. Whether any beasts or pure humans were infected… we don’t know yet.”
“The empire’s habitable planets have been surveyed. In two days, we uncovered eighty-six illegal labs and thirty-two underground ability-fighting arenas.”
“The search continues. We don’t know what else we’ll find. But the insect clan and Great Tian Yi Clan are colluding and probing our Fringe Star territory.”
Jiang Tea Tea’s voice went wary. “The Fringe Star region is already at war?”
“Not yet,” Chong Ming said. “They’re watching. Waiting.”
As he spoke, he pressed closer.
Under the blanket, his dragon tail slid in, curling toward her ankle like a living rope.
Jiang Tea Tea stomped it down with her foot. “Keep your tail to yourself. I can chop it off for you.”
Chong Ming sounded unfairly innocent. “You’re hogging the blanket. My tail is cold. I’m just looking for something to cover it. Is that wrong?”
Jiang Tea Tea kicked his tail out from under the blanket. “Talk is talk. Don’t crowd me. And don’t press your arm on me—you’re heavy.”
His tail flicked once—
Then shot right back under the blanket, fast as lightning, coiling around her calf and pinning her legs.
Jiang Tea Tea’s face changed. With her legs locked, she struck at him instead.
Chong Ming moved as if he’d predicted it. One hand locked both her wrists in a single grip. With a sharp pull, he hauled her forward, lifting her hips and setting her sprawled across his waist and abdomen. His other hand pressed firmly on her lower back.
“You think I’m heavy,” he said, voice calm. “I don’t think you’re heavy. Sleep.”
Jiang Tea Tea froze, stunned to the core. “Chong Ming… are you out of your mind? I’m sleeping on you? I’m supposed to lie on you and sleep?”
Golden hair spread across the pillow. Two bright golden horns. Bare upper body. Dragon body and tail beneath.
It was a blatant, shameless temptation.
And the worst part?
He was doing it on purpose.
Chong Ming’s eyes were dark and deep as he stared at her. “Yes. You won’t let me hold you while I sleep, so you can hold me while you sleep.”
Jiang Tea Tea’s lips twitched. “We’re not that close.”
“It doesn’t matter,” Chong Ming said, hand tightening slightly at her waist. “First time is awkward. Second time is familiar. Sleep on me a few more times and you’ll be used to it.”
Jiang Tea Tea struggled, twisting her wrists. His grip didn’t budge—like metal welded shut. “No, thanks.”
“I need it,” Chong Ming said simply.
Jiang Tea Tea frowned. “If you need someone to lie on you, find someone else. Why me?”
Chong Ming gave a quiet, helpless laugh. “Because it’s you.”
Jiang Tea Tea blurted, “Did you get infected with the living dead zombie virus? Did the super virus rot your brain?”
Chong Ming pressed her hands flat against his chest. “Jiang Tea Tea,” he said, voice low, “you’re a block of wood.”
Jiang Tea Tea felt his heartbeat under her palms—steady, strong.
Something snapped into place.
Her black eyes blinked, then widened. “Chong Ming… are you seducing me?”
