Chapter 241
Chapter 241: You Have to Hug Me and Kiss Me. I Want to Smell Your Scent
Chong Ming lowered his eyes, catching Jiang Tea Tea’s sidelong glance. His voice turned cool and edged. “She’s seducing me? Jiang Tea Tea—you seem awfully experienced.”
Jiang Tea Tea didn’t hear the bite in his tone. She lifted her chin, smug as can be. “Of course. I may not have eaten pork, but I’ve seen pigs run.”
In the demon realm, wild boars ran over the mountains. Whoever caught one got to keep it. The meat was gamey, sure, but if you seasoned it right, it was delicious no matter how you fried, boiled, stewed, or braised it.
Chong Ming looked at her proud expression and laughed despite himself. “You’re really a block of wood.”
She could spot someone else trying to seduce him from a mile away, but she couldn’t tell when he was seducing her.
Jiang Tea Tea bristled. In her mind, she snapped back: I’m not wood. I’m a tree.
Well… calling a tree “wood” wasn’t exactly wrong.
Cheng Lin Yue, standing off to the side and trying her best to exist quietly, stared at Jiang Tea Tea with stars in her eyes.
As expected of Sister Tea—the one carrying the Commander-in-Chief’s cubs. So amazing. So, so amazing.
Waaah. Learn from her. Study hard. Perform well in front of the Commander-in-Chief. One day she’d soar to greatness and shake the entire M31 Star System with her name!
“She’s coming,” Jiang Tea Tea murmured. “She’s coming. She’s walking over.”
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Reboot rise from her chair inside the glass room.
The dress Reboot had worn at 1.3–1.4 meters now barely covered her at 1.6 meters. The hem skimmed her hips at best, exposing the top of her thighs and most of her legs.
Her legs were slim, long, straight, and pale—deliberately placed, deliberately displayed, pure and tempting in a way that felt practiced.
Chong Ming drew his gaze back. On the surface, he watched Reboot. In the corner of his vision, he watched Jiang Tea Tea.
The light in her eyes—gossip and curiosity—was so bright it might as well have been a meteor falling out of the night sky.
Cheng Lin Yue swallowed and asked, “Sister Tea… how did she grow so much in just one day and night?”
Jiang Tea Tea corrected her, calm and decisive. “She didn’t grow over a day and night. She grew in an instant. In other words, she can control her own growth.”
She added, “Put it bluntly—she isn’t a simple infected. She’s a super infected with more than one ability, and with high-level intelligence.”
Cheng Lin Yue’s voice lifted, confused. “Then… what is she?”
Jiang Tea Tea’s lips curved. “A king.”
“A king? What king?”
“The zombie king.”
Cheng Lin Yue’s throat bobbed as she swallowed. “Like in movies and novels? The kind who can control living dead zombies with one roar?”
Jiang Tea Tea gave her a look. “You forgot Ni Su Town already? After I captured Reboot, she roared and summoned infected beasts—four-horned beasts, mutant rats, leopards, and more.”
Cheng Lin Yue’s pupils widened. “I didn’t forget. I just thought those beasts came on their own… I didn’t realize she called them.”
Jiang Tea Tea nodded once. “With what she can do, calling her the zombie king fits her perfectly.”
She tilted her head slightly, gaze drifting back to the glass room. “And Chong Ming, don’t you think her name is interesting?”
Reboot stood at the glass, eyes huge and dark, lashes fluttering like butterflies. Her gaze looked like clear mountain water—pure, clean, and somehow dangerous.
Chong Ming nodded. “Reboot. Restarting. Beginning again. A new species taking control, rewriting order.” His mouth lifted faintly. “It is interesting.”
Jiang Tea Tea nudged him with her words. “She’s right there. You’re not going in? That feels rude.”
Chong Ming asked, “Are you coming in with me?”
Jiang Tea Tea blinked. “Can I refuse?”
“No.”
Jiang Tea Tea sighed. “Fine. I’ll go in with you. I’ll turn invisible.”
Chong Ming turned toward the door.
Cheng Lin Yue hurriedly called after Jiang Tea Tea, “Sister Tea—be careful!”
Jiang Tea Tea waved a hand—she was fine—then slipped into invisibility and followed Chong Ming into the glass room.
The door hissed. Reboot slowly turned.
The moment she saw Chong Ming, she flinched like a startled little bunny and grabbed at the skirt that barely covered her, trying to tug it longer to hide herself.
Flustered, pretty, pure and seductive all at once—she looked like she was built to trigger a male’s protective instincts.
Chong Ming walked toward her and stopped two steps away. At over 1.9 meters tall, he made her look even smaller.
Reboot tipped her head up. Her voice was sweet, like a bite of honey. “Who are you? Why are you so tall? Golden hair, golden horns, golden eyes… you’re so pretty.”
Jiang Tea Tea stood invisible between them, arms crossed, leaning on the flame staff. She watched, amused.
Chong Ming looked down at Reboot. “My name is Chong Ming. Nice to meet you, Reboot.”
Reboot blinked. “You’re Chong Ming and I’m Reboot. We both have ‘Chong’… We’re family. Are you my family?”
Chong Ming answered flatly, “No.”
Reboot’s bright expression dimmed at once. “Okay. You’re not my family.” She tugged at her skirt again, voice small. “My skirt is too short. Can you give me your coat to cover it?”
“No.”
Reboot wilted further. “No… but my skirt is really too short.”
“It’s too short because you grew,” Chong Ming said. “If you feel uncomfortable, make yourself smaller.”
Reboot’s eyes lit up. “You like me smaller?”
Chong Ming didn’t even blink. “No. I’m making a suggestion.”
Reboot’s light dimmed again. “Oh.” She stared up at him, wide-eyed and pitiful. “I thought you liked me small… like how I like you.”
She leaned forward slightly, voice soft and yearning. “You smell so good. So sweet. I really like it. Can you hug me?”
Chong Ming refused, calm as stone. “I can’t. I heard you have a dad. Tell me—what is your dad called, and where is he?”
Reboot blinked, innocence sharpened into a strange bargain. “You want to know my dad’s name and where he is? Hug me. Let me lie in your arms and smell you. Then I’ll tell you what he’s called and where he is.”
