Chapter 214
Chapter 214: Big Golden Dragon Gets Mercilessly Mocked—The Cubs’ Mom Doesn’t Look Twice at You
Chong Ming’s golden eyes held hers. “Yes. I’m in heat. The scent won’t fade for now.”
He said it calmly, almost like a warning. “You’ll have to endure it.”
Jiang Tea Tea’s patience snapped. “Why would I endure it? I don’t want to smell it. Get out of my room right now. Immediately.”
His scent didn’t drift—it flooded, from every direction, sliding into her lungs even when she held her breath.
It was like poison with no antidote, tempting her, making her hungry, making her want to get closer, to press into him and inhale him.
And that wasn’t even the worst part.
The worst part was that when she got hungry, her thoughts turned vicious. If she lost control, she could actually start thinking about how to kill him—chop him up and bury him beneath her roots as fertilizer.
Chong Ming straightened and glanced at his lightbrain. “Eight hours and fifty minutes until Capital Planet.”
He looked back at her. “Are you sure you don’t need dragon blood? Or psychic-force soothing?”
Jiang Tea Tea snorted, chin lifted in stubborn pride. “My cubs and I are perfectly fine. We don’t need you as a tool. Thanks.”
Commander-in-Chief of an empire. Prince Regent. Called a tool.
Chong Ming didn’t get angry. He didn’t even frown. He only sighed, and somehow it felt like retreat and advance at the same time.
“Fine. I never intended to fight you for the cub,” he said quietly. “I just want to do what little I can as a father.”
“To make up for the kick I gave you before,” he added, voice low, “and ensure that even without a shell, the cub can still be strong, and your body won’t suffer damage from pregnancy.”
He watched her closely. “You lack basic knowledge. You may not know that the father’s psychic-force soothing, along with dragon blood and flesh, can strengthen the mother too.”
“If you’re lucky,” he said, “after the cub is born, your ability level might upgrade.”
Jiang Tea Tea’s anger abruptly cooled into calculation.
His mental power could strengthen her?
Dragon blood and dragon meat were incredible tonics.
She was a demon. Coming here was already an opportunity. Finding a dragon she could drink and benefit from?
That was an opportunity inside an opportunity.
No demon with dignity abandoned an opportunity out of spite.
Her expression changed instantly, like turning a page. She grabbed a cup and shoved it toward him. “Fine. Put the dragon blood in here.”
Chong Ming’s gaze dropped to the cup. “You usually like to bite and drink directly. Why use a cup?”
Jiang Tea Tea jammed it into his hand. “Biting takes too long. I want to drink in one go.”
Chong Ming took a step back, cup in hand. “If you want a cup, you get a cup.”
Jiang Tea Tea turned, went straight to the bed, shook out the blanket, dove under it, and pulled it up to her chin.
Magic power flared—her protective barrier snapped into place.
The lights went out.
She went to sleep.
Chong Ming retreated to the sofa and sat, still holding the cup.
He didn’t bleed into it.
Instead, he pulled out a heat suppressant shot from his storage button and injected it into his own neck.
The restless heat in his body gradually settled under the suppressant.
Then he released psychic-force soothing, a steady stream of mental power that filled the room like a warm current.
He looked away from the bed, took out his lightbrain tablet, projected a screen, and began handling government affairs as if his heat didn’t exist at all.
Under that rich mental power, Jiang Tea Tea slept deeply.
It wrapped around her, soothed her, nourished her like a limitless spiritual formation.
If she hadn’t been trying hard to control herself, she might’ve turned into a tea tree on the spot.
When the warship reached Capital Planet, Jiang Tea Tea appeared at the hatch, having slept more than eight hours.
Huang Da Zhuang elbowed Cheng Xiao Ting. “Tell me you see it too.”
“What?”
“Sister Tea’s face,” Huang Da Zhuang whispered, eyes wide. “It’s whiter and softer. Her eyes are darker and brighter. It’s like she got… nourished somewhere.”
Cheng Xiao Ting nodded solemnly. “Not just that. Her lips are pink. She looks full of energy. Even her steps are lighter.”
He leaned in, dead serious. “Based on my many years as a single dog, Sister Tea must be in love.”
“And her lover?” he added with full confidence. “Probably one of Commander-in-Chief Chong Ming’s subordinates.”
Sui Xuan Chu and Cheng Lin Yue—two people who knew the truth—choked on air at the same time.
They coughed so hard they looked like they were dying.
Cheng Xiao Ting saw them coughing and grew even more convinced he was right. He raised his voice and asked Jiang Tea Tea directly, “Sister Tea! Are you dating? And is it one of Commander-in-Chief Chong Ming’s subordinates?”
“Is it his bodyguard? Someone from the Medical Department? The Information Bureau? Or another department? Just tell us!”
Ju Que and Zhang Ting Zhou’s eyes glinted with gossip. Their ears practically stood upright.
Jiang Tea Tea glanced at Cheng Xiao Ting and, with maximum cooperation, made a tiny sound like a mouse.
“Squeak.”
Cheng Xiao Ting blinked. “What does that mean? You’re really dating? You really found us a brother-in-law?”
Sui Xuan Chu and Cheng Lin Yue, imagining the day they’d have to call the commander-in-chief “brother-in-law,” immediately started coughing again.
They coughed until their faces turned red, eyes tearing.
Jiang Tea Tea walked behind them, patted their backs, and answered Cheng Xiao Ting with perfect seriousness. “Yes. Not only am I dating, I found you a brother-in-law.”
She paused, then smiled sweetly. “I even have a cub.”
The nonsense had already been wild. Jiang Tea Tea’s addition made it completely unhinged.
Sui Xuan Chu and Cheng Lin Yue didn’t just cough like dogs anymore.
They coughed like dying dogs.
“Hey!” Cheng Xiao Ting protested. “If you’re not dating, just say you’re not dating. Don’t say you’re pregnant—who are you trying to scare to death?”
“Yeah,” Huang Da Zhuang agreed quickly. “Sister Tea, I was just joking. You look amazing today, so I teased you. Don’t take it seriously.”
Zhang Ting Zhou laughed. “I almost blurted out something even crazier. Like, why not say your boyfriend is our idol—Commander-in-Chief Chong Ming?”
Sui Xuan Chu and Cheng Lin Yue looked like they were going to pass out.
One by one, they were all accidentally wandering closer and closer to the truth.
Jiang Tea Tea listened to them spiral and finally reminded them their shuttle had arrived. “Your little ship is here. Shut up.”
The warship hatch opened. A small shuttle docked. The connecting ramp extended.
Jiang Tea Tea dragged the still-coughing Sui Xuan Chu and Cheng Lin Yue onto the ramp and into the shuttle.
The shuttle pulled away. The ramp retracted. The hatch sealed.
Chong Ming’s warship lifted, activated invisibility mode, and vanished into the sky above Capital Planet.
Onboard, Zhong Li He produced a syringe from his storage button and shoved it at Chong Ming while covering his nose with his other hand.
“Here. Take it.”
Chong Ming glanced at the syringe. “Keep it. I have a mate. I don’t need that.”
Zhong Li He laughed, merciless. “Chong Ming, I admit you having a cub makes me jealous. I admit Jiang Tea Tea’s excellence makes me envy you.”
“But your mouth is full of lies,” he said, eyes gleaming. “You keep showing off in my face like I’m blind.”
He thrust the syringe closer. “This is our latest heat suppressant injection. One shot lasts three months. Hurry up and erase that stench. It’s disgusting.”
Chong Ming’s eyes darkened. “What lies? Everything I said is true. And I’m not showing off—I’m just living my daily life.”
Zhong Li He clicked his tongue. “Sure. Who has a mate and still reeks of frustration?”
He leaned in, voice dripping with mockery. “We’ve been friends for over a hundred years. Tell me you haven’t won her yet. Tell me the cub happened that one night, and she still won’t register a marriage with you.”
“If you admit it,” he said cheerfully, “I won’t laugh out loud.”
He would, however, laugh in his heart until it bled.
Chong Ming’s gaze sharpened, a blade turning. “Chief Executive Zhong. If you can’t hold back that grin, I’ll knock all your teeth out.”
Zhong Li He immediately stopped holding back.
He slapped his thigh and laughed so hard he nearly bent in half.
“Ha! Chong Ming, I hit your weak spot and you’re embarrassed.”
“I knew it,” he crowed. “Why should you have a mate and I don’t? Turns out you’re just one-sided.”
He grinned wider. “Your cubs’ mom doesn’t like you at all.”
Then his eyes narrowed with sudden ambition. “If she doesn’t like you, that means she might like me.”
“I’m going to chase her. I’ll marry her into Da Xi Nation as my Chief Executive Madam.”
He jabbed a thumb at Chong Ming, shameless. “I’ll even raise your cub for you.”
