Senior Bookworm turned his head and looked at the tree house behind him, from which the sound of reading still drifted out in waves.

“Other than not letting me leave freely, they have given me the best treatment they can. I have always liked reading and teaching. Here, I can share all my knowledge with them until the day they no longer need me.”

Yu Zhao felt deep respect.

“I understand, Senior. I will pass your thoughts on to the Ancestors.”

Not long after the two of them finished talking, the tall Beastkin came back, dragging Little Stone along.

Little Stone’s face was covered in tear tracks. He was still sobbing and sniffling, but the stubbornness and grievance from before were gone.

He took the initiative to admit his mistake to Senior Bookworm and said that he would study hard from now on.

Senior Bookworm gently rubbed his furry little head, then took his hand and led him back into the school.

The Beastkin looked at Yu Zhao. His tone was calm, as if he was only making casual conversation: “Are you done talking?”

Yu Zhao suddenly understood. The Giant Spirit Bear beastmen had already seen through their true purpose from the start, but they had not exposed them. Instead, they had taken the initiative to create a chance for her to talk with Senior Bookworm.

She now understood Senior Bookworm’s words from earlier even more deeply.

“Yes. I have found out everything I wanted to know. We can go back.”

The Beastkin nodded, said nothing more, and led her back to Senior Ling Long.

Senior Ling Long and the Chief of the Beastman Clan were still talking. When they saw Yu Zhao return, both of them looked over at her.

Yu Zhao and the others were affected by this wild atmosphere. Smiles stayed on their faces the whole time.

At some point, Ancestor Sui Bian had already made friends with two Beastkin. They had their arms around each other’s shoulders as they competed in drinking.

Old Black Daoist took over a small fire all by himself, happily roasting huge skewers of meat.

Yu Zhao had been watching two Beastkin fight when she suddenly felt someone sit down beside her.

She turned her head and saw that it was Senior Bookworm.

“Earlier everything was too rushed, and I actually forgot to ask about the academy. I do not know what the academy is like now.”

In his eyes there was nervousness, longing, and sadness all mixed together.
