Chapter 0154
Chapter 154: I Am the Guest Elder, I Am the Supreme Saint Slayer!
The warships formed a ring, flags snapping in the wind, sealing the area so tightly that not even a drop could leak out. Zhou Tong swept the encirclement with his spiritual sense, then laughed softly: “This time, the Jade Purity Sect will be hurt to the bone.”
Arrayed against them was a truly massive force: fifty Life-and-Death experts, sixteen Reincarnation experts, and one half saint serving as the supreme elder. In the distance, a terrifying killing formation gathered power. On top of that, vast Array Arts covered the sky and blocked all support from ever getting in. It was clear the Jade Purity Sect had prepared for this hunt with everything they had. They even mobilized a supreme elder just to counter Mu Rong Ya. That was the true foundation of a sect. Their resolve could not be stronger, yet they were doomed to be buried here.
The supreme elder Xuan Yu roared, his saintly pressure rolling out and making the air ripple with deadly waves: “Little beast Zhou Tong, get out here and die!”
Crack, crack. Those ripples shattered before they reached the ship Red Dust, crushed by an unseen force without stirring a single ring on the water. Xuan Yu’s eyes tightened as he frowned.
A single figure flashed out from Red Dust. Zhou Tong stood in the air, alone against a million troops. He looked at the man without any respect and said, calm and cold: “Old geezer, I’m in a decent mood today. Take your lackeys and get lost, or this will be your grave.”
The words almost made the other man cough blood. A supreme elder in the Three Pure Domain was second only to the chief enforcer; when a half saint appeared, who could challenge him? But then Xuan Yu forced himself to relax and thought: [Why bother arguing with a dead man?]
He sneered, voice icy: “You can shout all you want. The Jade Purity Sect raised you. It’s time to repay that kindness. We’ll use your head to win the friendship of the Saint-Slaying guest elder. Dying for that is a worthy end.”
“Guest elder…” Zhou Tong smiled with interest, then stopped hiding his aura.
Boom. The power of the Ninth Layer blasted across the sky, rushing a hundred leagues and echoing without end.
“What?” “How is this possible?” The people of the Jade Purity Sect stared wide-eyed. Wasn’t Zhou Tong crippled? How could he cross the gap and reach this level? Worse, he and that guest elder were supposed to be like mirrors of the same flower. The stronger the guest elder, the weaker Zhou Tong should be. He should never look like this.
Unless the guest elder and Zhou Tong were the same person. Zhou Tong was the Saint Slayer.
The crowd reeled, but Xuan Yu laughed first, voice dripping with scorn: “So this is your illusion trick. Joyous Union Sect really is good at this. Shame for you that even with illusions, you can only fake it to this level.”
“No need to fake anything, because I am the guest elder you talk about,” Zhou Tong said in a flat voice, but no one believed him.
“Fine, fine, I’ll treat you as him,” Xuan Yu snapped, then barked the order: “Die!”
Ten Life-and-Death experts stepped out at once and rushed Zhou Tong, killing intent like a tide. Zhou Tong’s tone didn’t change as he warned them: “Think it through. Once you act, there’s no way back.” Xuan Yu folded his arms and stared at Zhou Tong like a dead man, too lazy to answer.
“Then I’ll open the killing ring,” Zhou Tong said, and Little White appeared on his shoulder.
“Hurla!” Little White cried, then spoke like a clear bell: “Time Stop.”
Hum. The world froze.
“Heaven and Earth Manifestation,” Little White said, the terrifying avatar spanning sky and earth. Little White gripped a thunder spear and swept it across the ten enemies, finishing the strike in a blink.
“Time, flow,” Little White said.
When everything resumed, no one felt a thing. They only saw the ten Life-and-Death experts standing like statues, eyes full of endless fear. Xuan Yu roared: “Move, why aren’t you moving!” They moved, but only because their bodies came apart. Their upper halves slid off their lower halves, then all of it burst, twenty clouds of blood mist rising to paint the sky red.
“Ahh!” Several Jade Purity Sect elders screamed. They had never seen anything like this, not even in a dream. A youth in the Severing Heaven realm had wiped out ten Life-and-Death experts in less than a blink. How did he do it? No, a better question was: was he even human?
“They were only Life-and-Death,” Zhou Tong said, his voice cold. “I’ve killed saints. What does this even count as?”
Pupils shrank across the fleet. That domineering blade of a voice, that chilling might that looked down on heroes, was exactly like the guest elder seen during the Heavenly Dao baptism. Maybe this was the real one. Many felt true fear: [We may be in serious trouble.]
“Supreme elder, things have changed. Should we pull back?” someone asked.
“Retreat my foot,” Xuan Yu snapped. “That witch Mu Rong Ya was behind the trick just now. With me suppressing the field, she won’t succeed again. Kill!”
The words steadied the wavering. With a half saint here, as long as no saint showed up, there was nothing to fear.
“We almost fell for this brat’s trap!” the captains shouted as the remaining Life-and-Death experts struck together. Their power merged into a world-ending blast. The other experts stared at Zhou Tong’s hands without blinking, not willing to miss a single detail of how he would move.
“So you want to watch me make a move that badly?” Zhou Tong said with a cold smile. “Then watch: Heaven and Earth Manifestation, Break All Arts.”
A giant a hundred thousand feet tall rose behind him. Faces blanched as the avatar formed a hand seal. “What is that?” someone yelled. “One seal goes out, ten thousand arts break,” Zhou Tong said.
Avatar and self moved as one. He used a taboo technique from his past life. The light seal shattered the combined strike of forty people as if it were paper. More than half were crushed at once, their souls annihilated, not a wisp escaping.
“Run!” the survivors screamed. They showed their backs to Zhou Tong and fled in panic.
“I told you, once you act, you stay,” Zhou Tong said.
“Little beast, stop!” Xuan Yu cried, eyes bloodshot.
“Talisman Eighty-Nine: Death Line,” Zhou Tong said.
Gray lines shot out, fast as thought. They chased down the survivors and reaped them in an instant. The slaughter ended in a single breath. No Life-and-Death experts remained. Only silence.
The Jade Purity Sect cohort trembled like they were falling into an ice cave. Zhou Tong smiled and asked, voice high above: “Old geezer, is this an illusion too?” A ribbon of light shone on his chest, bright with saintly might.
“That is…” Xuan Yu’s mouth went dry and his throat burned as bitter truth filled his face. It was a saintly Human Dao endowment, something only a Saint Slayer could gain, and it could not be transferred. Zhou Tong had not lied. He was the guest elder. He was the Supreme Saint Slayer.
Xuan Yu’s look turned savage. Since they had already offended him to the end, the boy could not be allowed to live. He shouted: “By my order, unleash every killing move at once. Everyone charge with me. For the sect, we will cut this thief down!”
Zhou Tong laughed. “You struck first. Don’t blame me for using a saint. Master, get to work.”
