Chapter 42: You can’t fly the ship away, but you can carry it!

An Enforcer arrived. A middle aged powerhouse in a gold robe tore open the void and descended outside Red Dust Mountain.

This was a Gold Robed Elder of the Enforcers, a figure of very high rank in Enforcement City and the right hand of the Chief Enforcer. He stared at the rulers of the great sects with an odd look. He had seen common folk beg Enforcers for protection many times, but he had never seen a scene like this.

He asked while struggling not to laugh: “Did the Joyous Union Sect beat you up?”

The deputy sect master of Jade Purity Sect flushed red. Admitting defeat hurt him more than death, so he shouted through gritted teeth: “That little beast used despicable tricks!”

The Gold Robed Elder lifted a brow and asked, calm but curious: “What despicable tricks?”

The deputy snapped: “He used the materials he stole from us to set up an eighth rank Array Arts formation and waited for us to bite.”

The Enforcer’s calm expression broke at once; for a moment he even thought his ears had failed him: [An eighth rank formation in under two days? That is absurd.] Even the top grandmasters of the Array Masters Association needed a month to build such a formation, and even then there was a chance of failure. Hearing it was done in less than two days, he said flatly: “I don’t believe it.”

Then he believed it, because Zhou Tong directly activated the grand formation and moved them all over here.

Seeing the handsome youth before him, the Gold Robed Elder reacted first and drew in a cold breath: “Just as the Chief Enforcer said, this boy is truly remarkable.” He remembered the Chief Enforcer’s instruction before going into closed door cultivation: no matter what, look after Zhou Tong. The Chief Enforcer even suspected Zhou Tong could refine eighth grade pills. Now it might really be true.

The sect masters almost jumped with rage. One of them barked: “Brat, right in front of the Lord Enforcer, you dare play the thief crying to catch the thief!”

Jade Purity Sect’s deputy sect master jabbed a finger at Zhou Tong’s nose and cursed: “You not only seized our airships, you also destroyed our avatars. Such sins are intolerable. What else is there to say?”

Gasps and cries broke out. The new sect master of Blood God Sect failed to catch his breath and fainted on the spot.

He never imagined that in the blink of an eye Zhou Tong would take their airships apart into pieces. It was like looking at a peerless star of destruction. Every part of those ships was linked by secret force. Once separated, the cost to rebuild would be higher than building new ones. In their eyes, these parts were no better than scrap metal.

The deputy sect master’s voice shook as he swore: “Beast…” The loss was huge, and his heart bled. Armed airships were a sect’s deterrence. Each one was worth a fortune, and a single ship could erase a small or mid level sect. Now half of Jade Purity Sect’s fleet was ruined like this. Their strength would fall behind Upper Clarity Sect and Grand Clarity Sect. Hatred surged up in his eyes.

He tried a killing move and cried out to the Enforcer: “Lord Enforcer, I report that before this he killed more than a hundred innocent cultivators. Please execute him on the spot!”

He clapped again, and the people undergoing labor reform were brought out.

The deputy sect master stared and stammered: “You… you are still alive, how is that possible?”

A middle aged woman stepped forward with hands on her hips, her look fierce as she scolded: “You old dog forced and tricked us into attacking the Joyous Union Sect. Thank goodness Young Master Zhou is kind and repaid evil with virtue, or we would be dead. He is our great benefactor.”

Elder Jin’s gaze turned razor sharp as he said to the rulers coldly: “You dare incite the masses?” The backs of the great sect leaders turned cold.

The deputy sect master’s eyes trembled as he forced a shout: “This is slander. What evidence?” He knew that woman. She had been his plant, hidden among the crowd to stir people up. They had agreed that after success, Jade Purity Sect would protect her and her family. Of course, that promise was empty; Jade Purity Sect would never shield worthless ants.

The woman snorted and said: “I knew you would say that, so I prepared a recording Array Arts formation ahead of time. I offer it to the Lord Enforcer with both hands.” The deputy sect master’s face went chalk white at once. He knew he had no defense. That knife in his back was deep.

Elder Jin’s presence surged as he said: “Now, what else can you say?” He looked ready to act at any moment.

The deputy sect master could not understand how things became like this. He had “prepared” the Enforcers already and thought he could make Zhou Tong suffer in silence. He never expected a Gold Robed Elder of such high rank to show up and ruin all his plans.
