Chapter 0018
Chapter 18: Spoiling the New Master, Mo Liu Su Gets Jealous!
The little demoness glared at Mo Liu Su as anger crept into her voice: “Are you going back on your word?”
Mo Liu Su kept a calm face and said: “Going back on my word? Hardly. From the start you had no right to bargain with me. Everything I did was only a stopgap. I will repeat myself: hand over the Seven-Star Jadeblood Lotus, then kneel on the ground and wait for judgment.”
Zhou Tong rubbed his brow and answered without bowing his head: “And if I refuse?”
Ge Hong Qiu lifted her chin and snapped: “Then we will tear you to pieces! Weren’t you loud a moment ago? If you dared force us to kneel, you should have expected this end!”
Jiang Yu Yao spat with burning hatred: “Enough talk, it’s time to teach this trash a lesson!”
Mo Liu Su pressed her palm down like a mountain falling from the sky, and the weight landed on Zhou Tong and the little demoness’s shoulders. Their bodies shook hard and nearly buckled, but in the next instant they straightened, choosing to break rather than bend.
The little demoness took one step forward as she ran the Joyous Union Heavenly Art, raising a rolling sea of red dust around her, and she asked coldly: “Do you want to bully the Joyous Union Sect, or do you want to fight our master?”
Hearing this, Mo Liu Su curled her lip in scorn and said: “Your master… do you mean that burnt-out failure?”
Laughter rippled around the crowd as if to mock the little demoness for running out of tricks. A few days ago they had seen it clearly: that demoness could barely protect herself and had already lost her fearsome edge.
The little demoness snorted and said: “You guessed wrong. My master already took the Bodhi Pill. She hasn’t returned to her peak, but she is more than enough to deal with you!”
Tang Qi walked down from the high platform, looking down at Zhou Tong with a pride he had never felt before, and said: “Don’t think I don’t know. You can’t refine a Bodhi Pill at all, and you suffered a heavy Dao injury because of it. Otherwise you wouldn’t be so desperate to get the Seven-Star Jadeblood Lotus.”
Mo Liu Su’s eyes brightened with sudden understanding as she said: “So that’s it. You wretch wanted to save yourself and save that demoness too. Too bad you won’t get the chance!”
She pressed harder. A fiercer force crashed down to break Zhou Tong and the little demoness for good.
Just then a clear shout, like a phoenix cry, cut through the sky: “You dare harm my disciple—how many lives do you have to pay for it!”
Heaven’s light flowed and wind and thunder sobbed. Invisible ripples raced in and slammed into Mo Liu Su first. With a boom, her aura burst apart. She lost her footing and stumbled back through the air again and again.
Everyone’s vision blurred for a heartbeat, then a figure like an immortal appeared out of nowhere.
People jumped to their feet with tight faces and called her by different names: “Joyous Union Sect Sect Master!” “Demoness!”
The little demoness let out the breath she had been holding. [Good thing Zhou Tong guessed this would happen and told me to send a message in time, or we would have suffered a huge loss today.]
Several Elders of the Jade Purity Sect rose into the air and ringed the newcomer as they shouted: “Who dares act fierce here? The Jade Purity Sect is not a place where you can run wild!”
Mu Rong Ya’s long hair, pale as snow, lifted in the wind as she snapped: “A few old geezers dare to stand at my level? Get out of my way!”
She activated the Jade Devil Body and, like a different person, let a cold, killing aura surge like a tide. Many people went cold from head to toe. Back then, this demoness had used this very stance to topple several sects.
The Jade Purity Sect Elders felt danger and tried to talk her down as they said: “Calm yourself! We can talk this out!”
Mu Rong Ya answered without mercy as a hand seal blasted forth and exploded in midair: “You hurt my disciple and still tell me to be calm? Why don’t you all just die!”
Terrifying waves swept in all directions. The Elders were struck at once, blood leaking from their seven orifices as they fell from the sky.
Panic spread across the crowd. So strong; there was no sign of a burnt-out lamp. It looked like this woman had truly taken the Bodhi Pill, which meant Zhou Tong had refined it after all.
Tang Qi’s face went dark as he insisted: “Impossible. You were already at death’s door. That piece of trash could never refine a seventh-grade pill!”
His words reminded many of what they had seen near Red Dust Mountain: heaven’s thunder and earth’s fire had appeared there. That must have been the Bodhi Pill’s omen.
As this thought hit them, many faces went blank with shock. Tang Qi was already called a prodigy for refining fifth-grade pills, so what did that make Zhou Tong? A monster.
On the Alchemy Dao, it wasn’t that Zhou Tong could not compare to Tang Qi; it was that Tang Qi was not worthy to stand beside Zhou Tong.
Jiang Yu Yao shook her head and said: “Fake. They must have gotten the Bodhi Pill from somewhere else. No one in the younger generation surpasses my junior brother.”
“That’s the only explanation,” Mo Liu Su said as she steadied her breath and faced Mu Rong Ya across the air. Two peerless beauties stood against the sky, a feast for the eyes. Yet even among peerless beauties, there was still a gap. Mo Liu Su was like the bright moon above, but even a real moon would dim beside Mu Rong Ya. Compared side by side, the winner and loser were clear.
Mu Rong Ya’s eyes turned cold as she said: “You hurt them. I will make you pay.”
Mo Liu Su’s face tightened, yet she could not help but sneer as she said: “He’s just the trash I threw away, and you treat him like a treasure. How hungry.”
Hearing that, Mu Rong Ya actually lowered her hand. Her gaze turned playful as she asked: “Are you jealous?”
Mo Liu Su laughed and said: “Jealous of you? Don’t flatter yourself.”
Mu Rong Ya smiled and kept going as she said: “So many reasons. You’re jealous I’m stronger, jealous I’m more beautiful, and even more jealous that after little one dumped you, he came straight to me and became my disciple.”
The smile faded from Mo Liu Su’s face.
Mu Rong Ya went on, voice flowing like water as she said: “You don’t know how much little one likes his new master. Every day he asks after me and worries about my injuries. He refines all kinds of pills for me, and at night he even massages my body.”
Mo Liu Su’s fists tightened in secret, and her cheeks flushed red.
Mu Rong Ya twirled a lock of hair around a finger, looking both shy and satisfied as she said: “Having such an excellent and caring little one is such a headache. I told him he didn’t need to fuss, and he even scolded me. What can I do? Of course I have to spoil him. If anyone bullies him, I’ll make them suffer without end.”
All at once her gaze turned razor-sharp as she stared Mo Liu Su down and said: “When little one was under you, I doubt he treated you like this. If you must blame someone, blame yourself for being too ugly.”
Mo Liu Su burst out: “Nonsense! He treats me even better!”
Her aura boiled over, and she could not stop it. She was not angry because of Mu Rong Ya’s taunts. She was angry because she was truly jealous. Lies don’t hurt; truth cuts like a knife. She was jealous that Zhou Tong showed such respect and care for someone other than her. That privilege should have belonged to her alone. If she would not give it, no one else should have it.
Mu Rong Ya’s face went ice-cold as she said: “How surprising. He treated you so well, and you still drove him away. You really are a beast.”
