Chapter 13: Go Be Your World Saving Diva! Drop Dead!

Smack!

The sound was so loud and the force so strong that people trembled. Blood split the corner of Ge Hong Qiu’s mouth, and she let out a piercing scream.

She shrieked through her pain: “You piece of trash, what are you doing?”

Zhou Tong laughed, voice cold and bright: “Making a vile woman shut up. Feels good, doesn’t it?”

“I’ll kill you!” she howled. For so long, Zhou Tong had coddled and coaxed her, which fed her habit of looking down on everyone. Now that his attitude had flipped, rage exploded out of her as she clawed and lunged.

Zhou Tong sneered as he stepped in: “You really thought you were something. When I treated you well, I let you say whatever you wanted. Now that I don’t care, you’re nothing at all. Drop dead!” Even with his cultivation greatly fallen, his strength still dwarfed hers. He struck without mercy and kicked her in the stomach.

“Ahhh!” Ge Hong Qiu’s eyes bulged as she flew like a torn sack and crashed to the ground with a cry.

The sight hit Jiang Yu Yao like a spark to dry grass. She roared in fury: “How dare you! Do you even understand the gap between us? You’re just a traitor. Compared to us, it’s heaven and earth. To you, we are like gods!”

Zhou Tong snapped back, every word a knife: “Go be your world saving diva. You can die too!” He let himself go, grabbed Jiang Yu Yao by the hair, and smashed her head toward the ground.

Bang.

She gasped, voice shaking: “Ah… let go!”

Zhou Tong bent close with a mocking smile: “Are you begging me?”

She spat through clenched teeth: “Keep dreaming!”

He answered in the same lazy tone: “Right. If you want me to let go, then keep dreaming.”

The crowd gaped. They had never seen Zhou Tong this brutal. Some even started to tremble.

A shout cracked the air: “Stop!” Space twisted, and Mo Liu Su, Chen Ling’er, and Tang Qi appeared.

Zhou Tong finally stopped and swept his calm gaze over the newcomers.

Mo Liu Su’s voice went cold: “To act so savagely here is a capital crime.”

The little demoness stepped up to meet her glare head-on: “Stop trying to scare people, old woman. These two vile women provoked the Joyous Union Sect first; even if they were beaten to death, it would be their own fault. If you don’t like it, ask my master.”

At that, many people shivered as they remembered the demoness Mu Rong Ya. Though rumors said she was at the end of her strength, no one dared offend her.

Chen Ling’er looked down her nose at Zhou Tong and said, chin high: “You’re out of control, Zhou Tong. I’m very disappointed. You’re even running with a witch now; you’ve chosen to fall.”

Zhou Tong glanced at her with open scorn: “You are nothing. Who are you to lecture me?”

Chen Ling’er lifted her pretty face and said with a frosty smile: “How childish. You hit my junior sisters just to get my attention. Well, I’m standing here now. Do you dare hit me?”

Gasps rippled through the onlookers; they had never heard such a challenge. Chen Ling’er’s eyes shone with pride. She felt no fear because she was certain of one thing: Zhou Tong had once held secret feelings for her. Otherwise, why would he have abandoned the little demoness and rushed to her side during the Hundred Sects Tournament? If not for liking her, why would he have given up his own training time to study sword manuals for her, helping her become first in Sword Dao among the young? If not for that, why would he have spent his own spiritual energy to pour power into her?

Yet so what? She was cold by nature, pure as a snow lotus, untouched by smoke and fire. She looked down on Zhou Tong’s bowing and scraping. In her eyes, only the high-spirited junior brother was the true genius who stood tall.
