“Crap! The corpses are coming out!” Dawn exclaims in horror.
Hearing the guy’s cry, the blonde in the white gown made a faint surprise on her face before gritting her teeth like she’s come to a decision. Then her hands danced continuously, making numerous streaks of red afterglows and creating a light show in her casting.
Originally Shadow wanted to interrupt the foe’s effort until it immediately got halted when her feline senses picked up on the six-pointed star diagram activating around the entire morgue. Instead of pushing the ‘rising,’ this blood magic actually had the opposite effect of suppressing the undead magic. For that, the cat lady won’t stop it despite her hand being only inches away from smashing that head apart.
“It seems we’ve started off on a wrong step. Who are you exactly?” The blonde understood how close she was to dying by doing this and asked with a perplexed glance at the party.
“Are you testing us by not defending yourself?” Shadow withdrew her pawn and replied in an unkind tone, “It’s us who needs to know. Why did you attack us without a word back there?”
“Yes to the first question. If you didn’t stop then I would’ve retreated at the last second.”
The blondie was still drawing her spell in the air so she didn’t move: “It’s surprising to see a monster caring about a human in this day and age. Also, if you didn’t show up and only a normal human came around, the undead magic wouldn’t have activated again after I suppressed it before. That’s why I attacked you, I thought you were….”
Making a sigh, she walked up to the body cabinets and pressed her hand against one of the metal plates to imprint the spell. Only after that did the rattling stop and peace returned to this room.
“It seems we both have something to say so let’s go to the nearby duty room to chat,” the blondie makes a welcoming gesture and indicates to another room.
Though wry, the party did as ask and followed along to another room at the end of the hallway. Here, they saw the strange doctor from before standing motionlessly in the corner, a stark contrast to the comfy furnishings of this place.
The girl in the white coat went into the room and took off her clothes, revealing the knee-length skirt inside and turning around, Dawn saw her face clearly at this time, there was a feeling of Mixed Asian and European blood, and the length was both delicate and cute.
“You can call me Patty. Go ahead and take a seat wherever you please, and before we start, I want to ask if any of you know how to dispel the undead magic here?” After taking off her work coat, the blondie swung around to face the group with her casualwear that showcased her mixed Asian and European bloodline.
Seeing the three heads shaking from the group, Patty sighed and didn’t say much as she expected as much. Then picking up a fruit knife from the table, she gently swiped her figure to ooze out a droplet of blood which emitted a strong scent that permeated the entire room. One could discern it’s no ordinary substance from the smell alone, rather something extraordinary.
“Go, put this at the spell source.” Patty glanced to the man in the corner and tossed the blood bead over, which got dutifully carried out by the latter who rigidly walked out of the duty room.
“This should be enough to keep it suppressed until the undead magic wears off on its own.”
Dawn may not be a wizard, but even he could see the visible weakness in Patty’s complexion after she lost that droplet of blood.
“You’re using your blood essence to reinforce the spell?” Shadow frowned after understanding the logic behind Patty’s behavior, “What exactly is going on? Who’s behind this undead magic?”
Although Patty looked like she’s of mixed race and roused the most significant suspicion for being here, but all three of them could tell the undead magic didn’t come from her. Otherwise, why go through such length to suppress it in the first place?
