Chapter 99: Complete Victory
Three Eye followed behind Leopard, and as they arrived at the hotel’s ground floor, he left two of his men stationed outside.
“Keep watch here. Make sure no one escapes.”
It was a casual command, mostly just a precaution. After all, the windows outside the hotel were all fitted with security grilles—no one could possibly jump out. What Three Eye didn’t know, however, was that these protective grilles were old and in disrepair, already broken by Chen Xue Wen. On the surface, they still appeared intact, but in reality, Chen Xue Wen had merely taped them up. A single tug was enough to pull them loose.
It was past midnight, and the hotel receptionist was dozing off at the front desk.
Leopard stormed in, grabbed the receptionist, and slammed her onto the counter, pressing a knife to her throat.
“Not a sound. Hand over the keys to rooms 305 and 307!”
“Or I’ll kill you!” he threatened in a hushed but menacing tone.
The receptionist had never encountered anything like this before—she was terrified to the point of nearly wetting herself. Trembling, she fumbled for the keys and handed them over.
Leopard snatched the keys and, without hesitation, rushed upstairs with his men.
Three Eye left one of his subordinates to keep an eye on the receptionist, making sure she didn’t cause any trouble.
As they climbed the stairs, Leopard made a silencing gesture to his crew. He moved carefully, stepping lightly to avoid making any noise that might alert Chen Xue Wen.
They reached the third floor and stood before rooms 305 and 307.
Leopard glanced at Three Eye, who pointed at room 305, signaling that Chen Xue Wen was inside.
Taking no chances, Leopard instructed two of his men to take positions at the doors of rooms 305 and 307, each holding a key. Meanwhile, he and the rest of his crew stood ready, prepared to charge in the moment the doors opened.
No matter which room Chen Xue Wen was in, he wouldn’t be able to escape.
Of course, before making their move, they took precautions. They donned large sunglasses and masks—specially prepared gear—so that even if Chen Xue Wen had set up a lime trap or some kind of water ambush, they wouldn’t be caught off guard.
Once everything was set, Leopard took a deep breath and signaled for his men to proceed.
The two men carefully inserted the keys into the locks, twisting them without making a sound.
Click.
The doors unlocked, but as they pushed, the inner chains held them shut.
Leopard was secretly delighted—this confirmed that Chen Xue Wen and his group were inside, as those chains could only be locked from within.
Without missing a beat, he waved his hand. Two of his burliest men immediately lunged forward, slamming their shoulders into the doors.
BOOM!
The doors shuddered violently, and the chains groaned under the force, nearly snapping.
The loud noise echoed through the hallway.
Leopard cursed, “You useless pieces of shit! You’re built like oxen but can’t even bust down a damn door!”
“Are you here to help or to warn them?”
Embarrassed, the two men gritted their teeth and threw themselves at the doors again.
Inside room 303, Chen Xue Wen, Lai Hou, and Wang Zhen Dong were resting in bed, gathering their strength.
The sudden noise made all three instantly alert.
“Move!” Chen Xue Wen commanded with a single word, rushing toward the window.
He yanked off the weakened security grille and grabbed onto the drainpipe, swiftly climbing down.
Lai Hou and Wang Zhen Dong followed closely behind.
As he descended, Chen Xue Wen took the opportunity to pull down the rope he had previously tied to room 305’s window. Since it was secured with a slipknot, a single tug made it fall, pulling the protective grille with it and making the window rattle.
Anyone looking from inside would assume that the escape had happened from room 305 instead of 303.
Upstairs, Leopard’s men finally broke through the doors after much effort.
They rushed inside—only to find the rooms completely empty.
“Where the hell are they!?” Leopard bellowed in frustration.
Three Eye was dumbfounded. His men had been stationed outside—how had Chen Xue Wen and his crew vanished into thin air?
Then, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a swaying window.
“Shit! They escaped through here!” Three Eye yelled.
Leopard hurried over and peered outside—there, in the dim night, were Chen Xue Wen, Lai Hou, and Wang Zhen Dong, already halfway down the drainpipe, nearly reaching the ground floor.
“This… this fucking security grille is broken?!”
Leopard exploded with rage. “Goddammit, Chen Xue Wen! If you’ve got balls, stop running!”
Three Eye stuck his head out the window and bellowed, “You two useless fools! What are you standing around for? Stop them!”
He had left two of his men downstairs, not expecting them to be of any real use. But now, unexpectedly, they were needed.
The two men had been casually smoking when they heard Three Eye’s shout. They immediately turned their heads, just in time to see Chen Xue Wen and his crew jump down from the first floor.
Startled, they fumbled for their weapons and charged forward, ready to intercept.
Chen Xue Wen wasted no time. With a sharp wave of his hand, he barked, “Run!”
Without hesitation, he sprinted toward the alley with Lai Hou and Wang Zhen Dong right behind him. They had no intention of lingering.
Three Eye’s men, weapons in hand, took off in pursuit.
On the other side, Leopard was livid. “Fuck! Get after them! Chase them down!”
“If Chen Xue Wen gets away tonight, none of you bastards will have a place in this world!”
His underlings didn’t hesitate. They kicked open the window guards and clambered down the drainage pipes, rushing into the alley in hot pursuit.
Leopard wanted to climb down as well, but his injured leg made it impossible. Cursing under his breath, he had no choice but to follow Three Eye down the stairs.
By the time they reached the ground, Leopard and Three Eye’s men had already disappeared into the alley.
“Chen Xue Wen, you bastard! Let’s see how far you can run!” Leopard growled, running toward the alley himself.
Just as he did, a deafening roar erupted from the street corner.
A motorcycle came hurtling toward them, its engine growling like a wild beast. Two men were on it—the rider was of average build, but the passenger was a towering, muscular brute.
Seeing the oncoming danger, Three Eye yelled, “Leopard, watch out!”
But it was too late.
The motorcycle sped past, and the burly man on the back swung a steel pipe with brutal force, smashing it into Three Eye’s skull.
Three Eye let out a horrific scream before collapsing into a pool of blood, motionless.
Leopard’s face drained of color. Panicked, he turned to flee—but how could he possibly outrun a motorcycle?
The bike roared up beside him, and the brute delivered a devastating punch to Leopard’s temple.
The blow was no joke. Leopard crumpled to the ground, unconscious.
Without missing a beat, the brute grabbed Leopard by the collar and hoisted him onto the motorcycle. The rider revved the engine, and within moments, they disappeared into the darkness of the alleyway.
Three Eye lay sprawled on the ground, covered in blood, his fate uncertain.
Ten minutes later, Leopard and Three Eye’s men finally returned, swearing and cursing.
They had chased Chen Xue Wen’s group through half the city, only to watch helplessly as the three of them hopped onto a motorcycle—clearly stashed there beforehand, with the key already in the ignition. With a quick turn, they had gunned the throttle and sped off.
The narrow alleyways weren’t kind to those on foot. No one could catch up.
Frustrated and out of breath, the gang had no choice but to return.
But when they arrived, they were dumbfounded.
Three Eye was lying in a pool of blood. Leopard was gone.
Snake had just lost two of his most trusted enforcers in one night.
This battle belonged to Chen Xue Wen.
